Using the Remote Control
Installing the battery Using the remote control
Point the remotecontrol directly at the remote sensor
on the frontof the DVD Player.

Note: When theearphone is connected to the Phone Jack ( ),the speaker will be disconnected.

You can attach an earphone with astereo mini-jack plugto the phonejack ( )for private listening. The volume can be adjusted
using VOL + and VOL - on the remotecontrol or on thePlayer .

Connecting to a TV
TIPS
If you wishto view video on your TV only, close thedisplay panel of your DVD player.
With the displaypanel shut, use the remote to control DVD player.
1. Turnoff DVD player and TV.
2. Connect theaudio and video cables as illustrated below.
3.Turn on DVD player andTV.
4.Repeatedly press TV/Video button on your TV to select the input from the DVD player.
You can enjoy DVD quality video on your TV screen.

Using USB Port
USB slot
Pluging a USB device
1.Plug inthe USB device to the USB port on the player.
2.Repeatedly press DVD/USB to select USBmode.
Removing a USB device
You can remove the USB device anytimeeven it isplaying. To remove theUSB device, simplygrasp the end of the USB and remove it
from the slot.
Playing a USB device
The player accepts mostUSB devices such as MP3, DSC, USB- drive, Digital Camcorder etc. The USB in this Player supports
version 1.1/2.0.
1.Insert theUSB device and repeatedly press DVD/USB to select USBmode. The file manager appearsand the firstsong file ofthe
first folder plays.
2.Use direction key( and )to select thefile you want to play and press to play.

Using the AC Adaptor
Important !
Always turn off the DVDPlayer before connectingor disconnecting theAC cord.
. Using adifferent type of adaptor may cause malfunction or damage to the product.Only use theAC adaptor supplied with this player
When theAC adaptor is used for prolonged period of time, the adaptor mayheat up, thisis normal andis not a cause for concern.
When not usingthe adaptor, unplug it from the outlet.
This portable DVDplayer can be powered by AC through the supplied switching powerAC adaptor. It canalso use the
supplied battery packto power.
When theAC adaptor is connected to the unit and powered, the unit willbe automatically andelectrically disconnected fromthe
battery pack andpowered by the AC power.

Using the Battery Pack
Installing the battery pack
<1>.Align and insertthe battery
pack into thecorresponding
slots on theback of the unit.
<2>.Slide the batterypack to the
left until it clicksinto place.
Removing the battery pack
<1>.Slide down thelatch. <2>.Slide the battery pack to the
right, and remove.
Charging the battery pack
1. Attachthe battery pack to the Player.
2. Use theAC adapter to charge the battery pack. Make the connection asillustrated below.
3. Slide POWER to OFF. ( The Player mustbe turned off to chargethe battery).
During charging, thered and green LEDs blink alternatively.
When the batteryis fully charged, the orange LED stays lit .
When the Playeruses battery for power, steady red LED lights.
If the batterypower is low, the red LED blinks.

Cautions in Using Battery Pack
Danger!
Strictly follow thesesafety information when using the battery pack, Otherwise, ashort circuit, overheating,smoke, fire,
or damage tothe product may result.
Never disassemble ormodify the battery pack in any way. Do not touch the terminal ofthe battery packwith a metal object.
Do not placethe battery pack in direct sunlight, dashboard of a vehicle, or hightemperature place. Itcan cause explosionor fire.
Do not exposethe battery pack to water, fire, or heat.
Always usethe included AC adaptor when charging the battery pack.
This battery pack is designedexclusively for your portable DVD player. Do not use it withother devices.

1. Do notdrop or subject to strong vibration.
2. Keep outof reach of children.
3. The battery pack mayleak fluid that is harmful to your eyes.
If this fluidgets in your eyes, wash eyes immediately with large amounts of runningwater and getmedical attention immediately.
If the fluidgets on your skin or clothing, wash immediately with water.

Caution!
1. If youdo not plan to use theplayer for amonth or longer, remove thebattery, but charge the
battery every threemonths. This will extend thebattery life aswell as preventthe battery from
leaking chemicals andhaving other safetyissues.
2. Do notuse the AC adaptor orbattery pack fora prolonged periodof time duringrecharging.
3. Keep thebattery pack freefrom smoke, steam,moisture, and dust.

screen adjustment menu.
(B) Use directionkey ( )to select REVERSE
and press ENTER.

Playing a Disc
1.Make surethe Player has the power either from the battery pack
or theAC adaptor.
2.Load adisc, following thesesteps:
Open the topcover.
Press the OPEN button to openthe disc cover.
Place a discinto the traywith the label side facing up.
Close the disccover.
3.Slide POWER to ON to turn onthe power.
Preparation for Playback
Play
Press (on theremote control) or (on the player)to start
play.
1.Press (onthe remote or on the player) to temporarily stop
the playback, " " appears on the screen.
2.Press againto stop theplayback.
Stop
When you press or STOP, the playerremembers where you
stopped, and whenyou press PLAY later, itwill play fromwhere
you stopped it. However, during which, if the disc is removed,
the STOP ( ) buttonis pressed againor the player is turned
off, the RESUME function will belost.
Resume
You can skip chapterson DVD-Video, tracks on CDs,and
Video CDs.
1.To skip forward,press during play,it skips tothe next
chapter or track.Each press increases the numbers of skips.
2.To skip toprevious chapter or track, press .
Skip
1.During playback,to fast forward, press and hold (on the
player) to increasethe fast forward speed 2x, then repeatedly
press to increaseto 4x, 8x,16x, 32x.You can also simply
repeatedly press onthe remote controlto increase the
fast forward speed.
2.During playback,to fast reverse, press and hold (on the
player) to increasethe fast reverse speed 2x ,then repeatedly
press to increaseto 4x, 8x,16x, 32x. You can also simply
repeatedly press on the remote control to increase the
fast reverse speed.
3.To resume normalplayback, press .

Playing a Disc
1.During playback,repeatedly press SLOW to play at 1/2, 1/4,
1/8, 1/16, 1/32speeds.
2.To resume normalplayback, press .
You can only perform slow motion playin the forwarddirection.

GOTO
You can go directlyto a desiredchapter and play, or playat a
desired point oftime. Follow these steps:
(A)Toplay a specific chapter
1. Press GOTO, use toselect title (TT) and chapter (CH)
and enter thedesired number.
2. Press ENTER to confirm andstart play.
The Mark functionlets you "bookmark" points on the disc for
playback at alater time. You can store up to 20 bookmark
locations.
Follow these stepsto set up marker playback:
1.During playback,press MARK on the remote control.
2.Use to select a bookmarklocation.
3.When youreach the scene you want to mark, press to
confirm.
4.Repeat theabove procedure for a new scene. You can have
up to 20bookmarks.

(B)Toplay from a specific point of time.
1. Press GOTO twice to moveto the time display and it
changes 00:00:00.

ZOOM
ZOOM lets you enlargethe video imageduring playback and
pan through theenlarged image.
1.Press ZOOM repeatedly during videoplayback to enlarge
the image tox 2 orx 4 times of the normal size.
2.Press ZOOM repeatedly while displayingJPEG file and
Picture CD discto zoom inthe picture at150% or 200% and
zoom out thepicture at 25%or 50%.
Use direction keys( and )to move around (pan and
scan) the enlargedvideo or picture.
You can perform marker playback at any time by pressing
MARK, and using to select oneof the bookmarks,then
Youcan play , a track,a title, afile or the entire disc
repeatedly.
1.During playback,repeatedly press to choose a

Mute
Press MUTE to silence theaudio, press MUTE again to restore
it.
Menu/PBC
During DVD playback,press MENU/PBC to return tothe disc's
Start Menu. Ifthe disc does not have theStart Menu, ordiscs
that refuse MENUfunction, appears.
For VCD playback,press MENU/PBC to turn on/off PBC
(Playback Control). IfPBC is enabled, menu of scene's
thumbnails appears, youcan make selectionfor playback.
Repeatedly press LANGUAGE during DVD playbackto change
the language ofthe voice ifthe disc has multiple languages.
This function isonly valid forDVDs.
LANGUAGE
Repeatedly press SUBTITLE during DVD playbackto change
the subtitle's languageIf the dischas multiple subtitle's
languages.
This function isonly valid forDVDs.
Subtitle
TITLE
Press TITLE, it takesyou to the very beginning of the title and
play, or to theMENU if it has title menu.
DISPLAY
Repeatedly press DISPLAY during playback todisplay various
playback information suchas current title,chapter, track
elapsed time, languagesetc.
L/R
This function ismostly used for karaoke (sing along) discs, by
repeatedly pressing L/R,you can select STEREO, MONO
(Left), MONO (Right),MIX MONO etc.
P/N
This is usedwhen you connectthe Player to a TV and watch
video on theTV. Repeatedly press P/N to select NTSC, PAL
and AUTO to matchthat of yourTV.
The LCD screendoes not haveNTSC or PAL, so ifyou watch
video on thePlayer's screen, itis recommended to set to
NTSC which willgive a bettervideo quality. The player will
play both PAL orNTSC DVD's titles even when the Player is
set to NTSC.
Repeatedly press ANGLE during DVD playbackto change the
camera angle ifthe disc hasdifferent camera angles.
This function isonly valid forDVDs.

Playing MP3 and Regular Audio CD
Your MP3 files should be ISO 9660 or JOLIET format.

In most cases,when a MP3 or audio disc is placed into the
player, thefirst song file of the first folder plays.
In other cases,the file manager appears. Use direction keys
( and )to select thesong file and press to play.

Playing Picture CD
The picture canbe rotated and flipped.
1.During playback,use direction keys ( and ) to
rotate right 90degrees, left 90 degrees, flip vertically and
horizontally respectively.
Valid Picture
The player canplay both Kodak Picture CD that you order from
photo processing store,and home-made CD by burning JPEG
files onto aCD-R or CD-RW disc.
In most cases,after the disc is placed into the player, the first
file will beshown.
In other cases,the file manager appears. Use direction keys
( and )to select thepicture and press PLAY on the
Player or on the remote control to start theslide show
( plays photosautomatically).
To return tofile manager,press MENU/PBC.
To display thumbnail,press " "during playback ofimages.
To start slideshow, press" " duringplayback of images.
Press ZOOM to enlarge thephoto and use and to move
around the enlargedphoto. The slide show function stops when
you press ZOOM.

You can manually skip to the next picture by pressing , and
to skip tothe previous picture by pressing .

Displaying files
When a discor USB device contains multiple filetypes, you
can select anddisplay only certainfile types.
1. Press STOP and select FILE TYPE and press " " to
confirm.
2. Select thefile type youdo not wantto display andrepeatedly
press " "so the checkmark disappears.
3. Repeat STEP2 to hidethe other filetype.
4. Select EXIT and press " " to getout.
You can list thefile in theorder according toits type, name or
date.
1. Press STOP and select SORT FILE, press " " to
confirm.
2. Select oneof the sorting criteria ( by type, by name
and by date).
3. SelectAscending or Descending order for listing the
files, press " " to confirm.
4. Select EXIT and press " " to getout.
NOTE: If the fileis listed by name, It will first list the file
names with capitalletter in alphabetical order,
then files withlower case.
