CAUTION:
When the Chromebook is operating, it should be placed on a hard and flat surface with its bottom area
not in contact with user’s bare skin. Under normal operating conditions, the temperature of the
bottom surface will remain within an acceptable range as defined in IEC 62368-1, but such
temperatures can still be high enough to cause discomfort or harm to the user if directly touched for
over one minute at a time. As such, it is recommended that users avoid prolonged direct contact with
the bottom of the Chromebook.

Chapter 2. Get started with your Chromebook
Charge your Chromebook
The USB Type-C onne tor on your Chromebook works as the power onne tor. Plug in the a power
adapter to harge the built-in battery pa k and provide power to the Chromebook.
Connect to ac power
CAUTION:
All plugs must be firmly and securely inserted into receptacles.
1. Conne t the power ord to the a power adapter.
2. Plug the power adapter into the USB Type-C onne tor of the Chromebook.
3. Plug the power ord into an ele tri al outlet.
AC power status indicator behavior
The a power status indi ator is next to the USB Type-C onne tor. The following table shows the indi ator
behaviors and the indi ated power and battery status.

Connect to a cellular network (for selected models)
If your Chromebook has a wireless wide area network (WAN) ard and a nano-SIM ard installed, you an
onne t to a ellular data network and get online everywhere.
Note: The ellular servi e is provided by authorized mobile servi e arriers in some ountries or regions.
You must have a ellular plan from a servi e arrier to onne t to the ellular network.
To establish a ellular onne tion:
1. Turn off the Chromebook. Refer to “Base over assembly” on page 24.
2. Lo ate the nano-SIM ard slot and insert the nano-SIM ard as shown. Note the orientation of the ard
and ensure that it is seated orre tly.

3. Turn on the Chromebook.
4. Cli k the network i on in the system tray, and then turn on obile data. Provide required information, if
needed.
Connect to Wi-Fi
To onne t your Chromebook to Wi-Fi:
1. Cli k system tray.
2. Cli k the network i on and turn on the wireless feature.
3. Sele t an available network to onne t. Provide required information if needed.

The entire tou hpad surfa e is sensitive to finger tou h and movement. You an use the tou hpad to perform
all the pointing, li king, and s rolling fun tions of a traditional mouse.
Use the touch gestures
Notes:
• When using two or more fingers, ensure that you position your fingers slightly apart.
• Some gestures are only available when you are using ertain apps.
• If the tou hpad surfa e is stained with oil, turn off the Chromebook first. Then, gently wipe the tou hpad
surfa e with a soft and lint-free loth moistened with lukewarm water or Chromebook leaner.
