ThishapterprovidesinformationaboutinstallingthewirelessWANadapterintoyouromputerandusing
itontheMirosoft®Windows®operatingsystem.
Beforeyostart
BeforeinstallingthewirelessWANadapter,arefullyreadthefollowinginformation.
DANGER
Dringelectricalstorms,donotconnectthecabletoordisconnectitfromthetelephoneotlet
onthewall.
DANGER
Electriccrrentfrompower,telephone,andcommnicationcablesishazardos.Toavoidshock
hazard,disconnectthecablesbeforeopeningthecoverofthePCIExpressM.2cardslot.
Attention:ThewirelessWANadapterisshippedinastati-protetivebag.Whenhandling,takethe
followingpreautionstoavoidstati-eletriitydamagetothewirelessWANadapter:
•Donotopenthestati-protetivebaguntilyouarereadytoinstallthewirelessWANadapter.
•BeforeremovingthewirelessWANadapterfromthestati-protetivebag,touhthebagtoametaltable
oragroundedmetalobjet.Thisationreduesstatieletriityinthebagandyourbody.

Chapter3.Trobleshooting
IfyouexperienethefollowingproblemwiththewirelessWANadapter,trythesolutionprovidedtosolve
theproblem.
Problem:IhaveorretlyinstalledthewirelessWANadapteronmyomputer,buttheomputerfailsto
reognizethewirelessWANadapter.
Soltion:ResettheUnifiedExtensibleFirmwareInterfae(UEFI)basiinput/outputsystem(BIOS)
onfigurationofyouromputertothedefaultsettingsbydoingthefollowing:
1.Turnontheomputer.
2.WhentheThinkPadlogoisdisplayed,pressF1toentertheBIOS.
3.PressF9,andthenseletYestoloadthedefaultonfiguration.
4.PressF10tosavetheonfigurationhangesandexit.TheSetupConfirmationwindowopens.
5.SeletYesintheSetupConfirmationwindow.Theomputerrestarts.
Note:Aftertheomputerrestarts,theBIOShangesareautomatiallysaved.Thereisnoneedtoreset
theBIOSonfigurationagainthenexttimeyoustartyouromputer.
