Ianyunsaeconditionsarepresent,youmustdeterminehowserioustheapparenthazardcouldbeand
whetheryoucancontinuewithoutfirstcorrectingtheproblem.

Turningontheserver
Ateryoufinishunpackingandsettinguptheserver,connectittoanacpowersource.Pressthepower
buttonontherontpaneltoturnontheserver.See“Frontpanel”onpage14.
Turningofftheserver
CAUTION:
Thepowercontrolbuttononthedeviceandthepowerswitchonthepowersupplydonotturnoff
theelectricalcurrentsuppliedtothedevice.Thedevicealsomighthavemorethanonepower
cord.Toremoveallelectricalcurrentfromthedevice,ensurethatallpowercordsaredisconnected
fromthepowersource.

orderlyshutdownotheoperatingsystem,theserverturnsoautomatically.Forinstructionsonhow
toshutdownyourspecificoperatingsystem,reertotherelateddocumentationorhelpsystemor
theoperatingsystem.
•Pressthepowerbuttonontherontpaneltostartanorderlyshutdownotheoperatingsystemandturn
otheserver,iyouroperatingsystemsupportsthiseature.
•Iyourserverstopsrespondingandyoucannotturnito,pressandholdthepowerbuttononthe
rontpaneloroursecondsormore.Iyoustillcannotturnotheserver,disconnectallpowercords
romtheserver.
•Theservermightturnoasanautomaticresponsetoacriticalsystemailure.
