
INSTALLATIONINSTRUCTIONS
1. TheNucleusUnitMUSTbepipedaccordingtoaLeonardRequiredPipingMethodW(see
page31).
2. Mountvalvebodyandplumbinletandoutletconnections.DONOTintroducewatertothe
valveuntilcompletionoftheseinstructions.
3. MountNucleusControlBoxtosuppliedMountingBracketandadjustthetuningscrewon
thebrackettodesiredposition.Ensureallwiringexitingtheboxisaccessible.
4. ConnectGreenWireEarthGroundConnectortosuitablenearbyearthgroundlocation.
5. Removecompressionfittingfromleftsideofthevalveoutlet.SlideRTDProbe#1through
thecompressionfittingandinsertintotheleftsideofthevalveoutlet.Tighten
compressionfittingbyhand,andthentightenjust1/8to1/4turn.DONOTovertighten
fitting.Seepage30formoredetail.
6. IfadditionalRDTprobesandpressuresensorsareincluded,installthemattheappropriate
locations.If‘IF‐RTS’optionisincluded,leaveprovisionsfortheRTDprobemarked
“RETURN”tobeinstalledonthetemperedreturnline(1/2”NPTConnection).Tighten
compressionfittingsbyhand,andthentightenjust1/8to1/4turn.DONOTovertighten
fittings.Seepage30formoredetail.Pluginpressuresensorharnessesintothepressure
sensors.
7. ConnectandtightenMotorWiringHarness,ifneeded.
8. Openallinletandoutletcheck‐stopsandballvalvestopressurizeNucleusvalve.
9. Plugpowersupplyinto110Vreceptacle.GFCIreceptaclesarerecommended.Installerto
followlocalelectricalcodes.
10. PoweringValveControlBoxwillcausethevalvemotortoinitiateaFULLVALVESWEEP
(EndtoEnd),indicatingthatthemotorhastraveled900‐1500Steps. FollowingtheFULL
SWEEP,thevalveisreadyforcommissioningandtheLEDScreenwilldisplaythefollowing:
