Warranty
Leviton Manufacturing Co Inc. warrants this control console to be free of material and
workmanship defects for a period of two years after system acceptance or 26 months after
shipment, whichever comes first. This Warranty is limited to repair of replacement of
defective equipment returned Freight Pre-Paid to Leviton Lighting Management Systems
Division at PO Box 2210, Tualatin, Oregon 97062, USA. User shall call 1-800-959-6004 and
request a return authorization number to mark on the outside of the returning carton, to
assure that the returned material will be properly received at Leviton. All equipment shipped
back to Leviton must be carefully and properly packed to avoid shipping damage.
Replacements or repaired equipment will be returned to sender freight prepaid, F.O.B.
factory. Leviton is not responsible for removing or replacing equipment on the job site, and
will not honor charges for such work. Leviton will not be responsible for any loss of use time
or subsequent damages should any of the equipment fail during the warranty period, but
agrees only to repair or replace defective equipment returned to its plant in Tualatin, Oregon.
This Warranty is void on any product that has been improperly installed, overloaded, short
circuited, abused, or altered in any manner. Neither the seller nor Leviton shall be liable for
any injury, loss or damage, direct or consequential arising out of the use of or inability to use
the equipment. This Warranty does not cover lamps, ballasts, and other equipment which is
supplied or warranted directly to the user by their manufacturer. Leviton makes no warranty
as to the Fitness for Purpose or other implied Warranties.

The control in your hand!
This PDA software allows to your PDA to be a remote control sure, ergonomic complete and easy to use.
Totally wireless communication, being based on the standard IEEE 802.11# (WIFI).
Specially designed for the consoles:
8700 SERIES: GX, GS, GL
Remote control allows you to:
o Test channels, fixtures dimmers, groups & cues.
o Edit channels & any fixture parameter.
o Copy & exchange channels & fixtures into the editor.
o Copy & exchange cues, groups, libraries...
o Store cues, groups & libraries.
o Modify cues, groups & libraries.
o Edit times, texts, etc.
o Load masters, crossfaders, effects, etc.
o Use macros, pages, banks, etc.
o Use edition functions as palettes, libraries & shapes.
o Play masters, crossfader, macros...
o Edit the menus (patch, setup, etc.)
In short, it allows you to accede to the practical whole the tools of the console, including the level control and
Trackball.
Furthermore, its communication bi-directional provides return information from the console to our remote,
what allows you to have a real knowledge on various aspects:
o Commands line, reply of the used in the console, that informs us of the commands already executed, after
be received in the console.
o Console statuses, functions LEDS have the same behaviour that in console.
o Warning and error messages.
o Any monitor page of the console, including the edition, exam & menus pages.
Based in PDA with wireless capacity, we can benefit us, between other, of the following characteristic:
o Possibility of communication without cables, based on a very used standard, economic and with future,
what assures us a simple installation and adapted to multiple requirements.
o Touch color screen.
o Lithium batteries with an autonomy that exceeds, normally, 4 hours working.
o Characteristic very optimized in relation with design, size, weight, etc.
o The standard PDA software, as schedule, sound and image, text and other data, etc.

NET TYPES
The next diagrams show us net types or different configurations that can be put in practice, in function of the
concrete needs of each installation:
Direct connection cable. For this, PDA needs a net card (Only some PDA can have a net card.)
Point-to-point configuration
Use a wireless repeater to expand the effective distance.

INSTALLATION & START UP
SOFTWARE & UPGRADE
8700XPPC software pack (provided from your Leviton distributor or downloaded from internet) is a folder
with 3 files inside. These files must be transferred to the PDA, using a personal computer, to the next
placements:
o 8700XPPC.exe (program) .......... Must be transferred to a folder named LT in root directory
o PCANDIS4.dll (net dll) …....…… Must be transferred to the Windows folder
o LTMON3.ttf (font type) …………Must be transferred to the Fonts folder, in Windows folder
The transfer is done using the software supplied with the PDA to communicate with the PC, and following
the same procedures that to install other applications. It doesn’t exist an auto install, since is tried only to 3
files and thus the user has conscience than what is installed and where is installed.
UPON RECEIVING THE PDA (Pocket PC)…
PDA is supplied with the 8700XPPC software installed. To execute this application:
• Turn on PDA
• Click “Start”
• Click “8700XPPCxxx” (xxx is the number of the program version).
Can be, that the first time, and always that your PDA is without battery or a PDA reset will be done, this
program will be loosed, to solve these cases, the PDA is supplied with a backup inside that it allow you to
restore the program:
• Turn on PDA
• Click “Start”
• Click “Data Backup” and select its Restore option.
• Click “Start”. At the end of this process, PDA will have the program 8700XPPC installed.
To execute 8700XPPC, wireless communication must be configured.
CONFIGURING THE COMUNICATION
In order that the communication WIFI is possible, it is necessary to confirm it in the PDA and in the WIFI
receiver that is connected to the console.
PDA (Pocket PC)
The exact steps for the activation of the desired wireless net change according to the PDA model. Examples:

Start-iPAQ Wireless, and if proceed, click in Local

switch of the Pocket PC (usually it’s active).

Observations:
- Once done this, the communication becomes stable automatically whenever we turn on PDA, or
whenever it comes closer the area of coverage, if we had moved away from it.
- It is possible that we should select again if the PDA finds another wireless net with sign more strong, or
if, previously, the PDA was in use for reporting with another wireless net.
- The cards WIFI of the PDA are configured as "Client" and are auto-formed depending on the net to
which they connect. Only a specific configuration would be necessary if is encrypted (not reasonable
thing) or filtered our net in the WIFI receiver that is connected to the console.

- Neither precise configuration IP (IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, DHCP Server, etc.), since the used
protocol turns out to be transparent to the same one.
WIFI receiver
In order that the WIFI receiver could communicate with the PDA, surely, it will not be necessary to modify
its way of functioning and serve the configuration for fault. Nevertheless, we do a brief description of some
generic aspects related to the configuration:
- Mode: It determines the way of functioning. WE MUST CHOOSE THE WAY "AP" (Access Point);
or, according to the terminology of the device, "INFRASTRUCTURE"
- AP Name: A name anyone that let's want to name to a receiver to distinguish it amongst the others
(it has no effects on the transmission)
- SSID (Service Set Identifier): It identifies the transmission. All the components of the net must have
the same name to be able to communicate (it serves any name up to 32 characters of length)
- Channel: Channel of transmission. All the components of the net must be "tuned" in the same
channel.
- WEP Encryption: It allows to encrypt the information transmitted with purposes of confidentiality.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND ITS USE
- Access Control List / MAC Filters: It allows to filter devices in order that they take part, or not, in
the communication. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND ITS USE.
In case of using a configuration with receivers to extend the coverage, there will be precise 2 units WIFI; the
formed one in way AP, described previously and relay other one, formed this way:
- Mode: we must determine the way of functioning as REPEATER
- SSID & Channel: We must make them coincide with the configuration with another unit, AP
- Remote AP MAC Address: ( It is a special field for the REPEATER mode): We must introduce the
code MAC of another unit AP, to which it must repeat. The above mentioned number will come
indicated in the documentation, of form similar to the number of series
- It is necessary bear in mind that the REPEATER mode is advisable to use it among units of the
same model or mark) and that it does not turn out to be advisable to extend the installation with any
more than one repeater.
In case of a multipoint configuration (Roaming), so many units will be precise since as be necessary to
provide of coverage to the wished zone, and the configuration of every unit would remain formed this way:
- Mode: All the units are employed at the same way, as AP (Access Point)
- SSID: It must coincide with all the used units
- Channel: It must be different for every unit and, preferably, with as separated as possible and not
consecutive numeration. The quantity of units that we can use 5 or 6 still have limited, therefore, to
the number of available channels, normally 11 and to avoid possible interferences among them. We
must have present that not neither all the devices nor wireless cards of Pocket PC possess the same
number of channels and use, exclusively, present channels in all the devices.
Note: all the parameters referred to the configuration IP have not influence for the work of the PDA as
Remote Control of 8700 Series; since they refer to communications of the type TCP/IP (as the employees in
Internet) and the communication with 8700 Series develops under IPX, another type of protocol for that the
WIFI receiver turns out to be transparent and it does not need any configuration of these fields
To configure these WIFI receivers, consult the documentation of the same ones (normally this configuration
is realized from a special software or from any Internet browser, acceding to a special direction).

THE SYSTEM
1- CONSOLE CONFIGURATION
When PDA and WIFI receiver are configured in the net, to control the console using our remote control, it’s
needed active, in the console, the next status:
o Access to menu 35: Remote & PocketPC, select its Enabled option and set it as POCKETpc.
(Rmt ID & Rmt Dimmer aren’t used for the PDA, or Pocket PC)
o If beside POCKETpc, the flag Net Off appears, access to menu 40: Ethernet Configuration, and
active (On) the console net communication. Now the flag beside POCKETpc must be Net On.
o In the status line of the console, the flag POCKTpc indicates us that the remote control is enabled.
The console is ready to be controlled from the PDA remote control.

PDA must have a net card:
o Connect a cross Ethernet cable from PDA to console.
WIRELESS CONNECTION
PDA and WIFI receiver must be configured. Remember! PDA must have wireless Ethernet:
o Connect a cross* Ethernet cable from WIFI receiver to console.
Note: Some WIFI receivers allow you to use any cable type: cross & no-cross cables.
3- START UP AND TAKING CONTROL FROM REMOTE CONTROL
IMPORTANT: Never it will be able to take control of the console if this is some Test Menu. In this case,
first it’s needed to exit of the Test Menu.
To take the control of a console, from the PDA, we should:
o Execute the “8700XPPC” program.
If the PDA hasn’t configured its Ethernet communication this program shows
us the message No Adapters Found, and cannot be executed (see
“CONFIGURING THE COMUNICA” to solve this warning).
o Inside 8700XPPC program, click in (placed in the lower line) to open it,
and select its “Setup” option.
o Setup screen shows us a list of consoles (and simulators) that have been
detected in some of the 16 available nets. Touch in the console to control and
observe that this is marked in red field. To return to the main screen, touch the
command “Return”. If the console isn’t marked in red field it’s possible that hasn’t enabled the
remote control, (see previous pages to solve this warning)

Important: When the control has been established correctly, in the first line, main line, of your PDA
the program name 8700XPPC appears, but if the remote isn’t controlling a console, the program name
appears as ????? 8700XPPC, in this case, revise the previous points to take the control correctly.
Now, the remote control is operative and controls the console. Upon taking the control, in the console:
In the status line, the flag POCKTpc appears in a red field, it indicates that the console is been controlled
from the remote control.
Upon taking the control with the remote control, if necessary, in the console the next actions are done:
o The system empties the command line (any command not ended is aborted).
o Blind is deactivated. The editor always will be in Stage mode.
o The system exits of any page of Exam, Edition o Menu (excepting pages of the Test menu that
only can be closed by the user) and any data no accepted will be lost.
o The recording process of a MACRO will be cancelled; the macro will be stored but is empty.
o EDIT+ mode is deactivated and the shapes edition too. The auxiliary screen shows the fixtures
parameters.
o The next functions are cancelled: LNTM, RATE
o Black-Outs of the masters SX, SM & GM are deactivated.
o Flashes and the functions FANOUT, FINE, MOUSE, T.B. are deactivated.
o NEXT is deactivated too, and its values are initialized.
The message Use MENU MENU to take control appears in the command line. The user must do
double click in MENU (of console) to return the control to the console.
8700XPPC program works in the same way that the console, read the rest of this user manual and, if
necessary, the console user manual; since the operation commands are the same that in the console.

USING THE REMOTE CONTROL
Remote control has practically the same functions that the console; in this way, the working mode is identical
that in the console. In the next parts, the keys organization & others special characteristic are explained:
SCREENS
8700XPPC has 3 screens with the console functions, these screens are:
o Editor: Has the editor functions.
o Fixtures: Has the functions associated with the fixtures edition.
o Playbacks: Has the functions associated with the playback of masters & sequencer (this last screen
changes in accordance with the 8700 Series model that is been controlled)

To page these screen:
Press access to the different screens (Editor, Fixtures & Playbacks).
Inside PLAYBACKS screen, press to access to the next 12 masters.

SPECIAL FUNCTIONS OF REMOTE CONTROL
ZERO MT ZERO SEQ functions, placed in PLAYBACKS screen, have their console correspondence
inside menu 71: Status & Playbacks Zero:

They are special commands used to “clean” the scene that proceeds of the console playbacks, setting at 0%
the masters, ZERO MT,output and/or the crossfader outputs, ZERO SEQ
NAVIGATION BUTTON
Each PDA a navigation button with at least 5-ways, this button is ideal to simulate level control, trackball,
wheels and console faders.
Our program use the 5 basic ways of this navigation button, those are:
in its upper zone
in its lower zone
in its left zone
in its right zone
ENT in its central zone
Navigation button basic use:
Navigation button has 3 basic uses, these uses are toggled pressing . These uses are: Level control [LV],
Trackball [TB] and the active wheel [WH]. The selected utility is showed in the lower part of the screen.
Level control [LV] mode is the mode by default: The navigation button simulates the console level control:
Increase / Decrease the dimmer level of the selection (channels or/and fixtures dimmers).
Increase/ decrease the level using discrete increments, +% & -%; instead of a continuous edition
(increments configurable inside the menu 30)

Trackball: The navigation button simulates the console Trackball to control, manually, the position of the
selected fixtures. In the navigation button:
Control of pan (X parameter) of the selected fixtures.
Control of tilt (Y parameter) of the selected fixtures.
ENT The same that FINE function; toggle among the 3 trackball resolutions to obtain displacements
quickest or slowest. The resolution status can be observed (and selected too) in the FIXTURES
screen, in the FINE LED.

Wheel:The navigation button simulates the console active Wheel to adjust the active parameter. The active
parameter is showed in the blue zone (display zone) inside the FIXTURES screen. In the navigation button:
Movement of the parameter (palette or library) placed in the active wheel.
ENT The same that FINE function; toggle among the 3 trackball resolutions to obtain displacements
quickest or slowest. The resolution status can be observed (and selected too) in the FIXTURES
screen, in the FINE LED.

Navigation button & console faders
In addition to the basic use and its direct access, there is a menu to configure these and others uses. This
menu is placed in the lower line of the screen and always shows the active use of the navigation button and it
is used to set the navigation button as any console fader, for this:
• Touch the menu (combo-box) to open its options.
• If needed, move the scroll bar to place the desired option (the console faders are represented by their
name)
• Select the option touching it.

Fader:The navigation button simulates the console selected fader and, if possible (see the next table), its
associated function key. Using the navigation button it’s possible to “move” the selected fader and press (if
possible) its associated key (GO, Flash, etc). In the navigation button:
Movement up/down of the selected fader.
ENT If possible is the associated key to the fader. In case of masters, it’s their GO key (in any mode -
GO, FLASH or SOLO), in case of SX, SM & GM, for security, has NOT function, and in case of
the crossfaders X and Y it’s their GO function.

only is a direct access to load SX in the navigation button.
The fader of the PLAYBACKS screen:
Inside PLAYBACKS screen, there is a virtual fader, social to control any master
fader of the console. To configure this virtual master:
Activate , when it is activated is showed in blue, :
With this key activated, press one of the keys .. , to assign it to the virtual
fader. The virtual fader shows us the name of the master father that is controlling.
Only when the function is deactivated, in yellow, the keys .. work as
the keys M1..M48 of the console, as functions GO, FLASH, SOLO, etc…
PAD to control the movement X/Y of the fixtures.
To control the movement (positioning) of the selected fixtures, you can use the
navigation button in [TB] mode or you can open a virtual PAD specially
designed to control the parameters X & Y of the fixtures.
To open/close this PAD press in the icon
Over the EDITOR screen a virtual PAD is showed, and this PAD allows you to
control the position of the selected fixtures using your finger or a pointer.
Tip: To set the position of several fixtures without close the PAD, use the
functions NEXT and PREV to select new fixtures.
Some extra functions
In the lower line, you have an access to extra functions grouped in the command . Click over it to open
the list of extra functions (EXAM, COPY, OPTIONS…)

COMMAND LINE AND MESSAGES LINE
It’s possible to see the command line and the messages line in alls the screens. These lines are placed in the
screens upper line and they are used as quick test and help in the edition processes, observe that this
information is returned by the console to the PDA.
The remote control and console have a bi-directional communication, and the command & messages lines are
been showed are the lines of the console.
LEDS INFORMATION
The Remote Control LEDS show us the status of their corresponding functions in the console, this status is
sent by the console to the remote control.
CONSOLE MONITOR
One of the more powerful tools is the access to the visualization of the
console monitors. Remote control allows you to access to any console
monitor including edition pages, exam pages and menus easily:
Press , in the screen lower line, to toggle between the function screens
and the current console monitor.
Console monitor is greater than the PDA screen, so to see all the monitor in
the screen a scroll bars can be used.
Working over console monitor, in the screen lower line (in PDA), new
functions appear:
Cursors: Very used in edition or menus pages (for example in the cue list
or Patch) and to access to the auxiliary monitors and to page channels and
fixtures.
Ke: This is a combo-box menu that has several function keys that are used mainly here. Touch Ke to open it
and select the desired function among these:
MENU, ENTER & EXIT: Used in the menu & edition pages (Remember press EXIT to return to the system
after to adjust some menu, edition page or exam page).
INSERT & DELETE: Used in the edition pages.
MONITOR, MON- & MON+: Used to configure the monitors and to page list (and interactive red-windows).
NOTES:
The greater part of the selections can be done over the monitor using the PDA pointer (for example, in the
menus list or interactive red-windows as parameters, palettes or libraries, etc
To edit cells in the edition tables, the virtual keyboard of the PDA can be used, , in the same way that
the external keyboard in the console.
FUNCTIONS CORRESPONDENCE FOR CONSOLE-PDA
Keys of the application 8700XPPC have correspondence with the keys of the console they have the same
name, and they work in the same mode. But, there are some exceptions, others that the explained in this
manual…
& , inside FIXTURES screen, that these keys help us to access to the parameter control encoder,
previous or next to the active control encoder, and that these keys are not correspondence in the consoles
GX, GS & GL, and these keys are simulations of the “push” of the wheels (control encoders).

MENU LT -
LT menu, placed in the screen lower line, has the next commands: Exit, Setup & About. Touch this icon to
open it and then you can select:
Exit To close the program 8700XPPC
Setup To select the console to control. This command shows us a screen with alls the consoles (or
simulators) detected in the net. The user must select one of them touching it. The selected console, if
ok, is marked in a red field, and if error is marked in a grey field. This same grey field is used when
the control is broken from the own console. Exit of this screen touching Return.
About To see the current software version. Exit of this screen touching Return
WORKING BASIC MODES
The greater part of the console functions can be done from the remote control, in the same way that in the
own console, including:
• The access to any stored macro.
• The access to edition pages as the cue list.
• The access to the system menus as the patches.
As exception, it isn’t possible:
• Store macros from the remote control (these are stored empties).
Note: The remote control is a peripheral of the next consoles: 8700 Series GX, GS, GL; its commands
are equals in the console, and for this reason, these commands aren’t explained in this manual. See the
console user manual or the Help pages in the MENU 69 for more information about the commands.
However, the processes more used from the remote control are explained next.
TESTING CHANNELS, FIXTURES, GROUPS OR CUES
During the scenery assemble; in the first hours of our project, the remote control is a perfect to test channels
and fixture dimmers with the objective to position them. Remember that TEST fades the current scene with
the channel or fixture under test, and that CALL adds the selection to the current scene. Some examples:
Testing consecutive channels or fixture dimmers, beginning from the channel (or fixture) 1 each time that
TEST is pressed the next channels (or fixture) is tested:
CH 1 TEST, TEST, TEST …
FIXTURE 1 TEST, TEST, TEST …
Testing channels & fixtures in arbitrary mode:
CH 1 THRU 5 TEST, 4 5 CALL, 6 7 TEST …

Testing channels or fixtures, for example, the odd (1, 3, 5...):

By default, the navigation button is simulating the level control of the selection [LV] but if it’s needed control
the fixtures positions, press to configure the navigation button as trackball, [TB], or active the PDA
inside EDITOR screen pressing
Next, when the user has stored groups and/or cues, too it’s possible to test them:

Groups and cues can be stores from the remote control, some examples:
Group the channels 10 to 15 and 37 in the next group.
CH 1 0 THRU 1 5 CH 3 7 GRP REC
Store the cue 1 with the fixtures 1 to 3 at 100% and position library 1:
FIXTURE 1 THRU 3 CALL POS POS 1 ENTER CUE 1 REC
If the cue exists, the system needs confirmation, confirm pressing REC again.
Store the next cue with the fixtures 10 to 13 at 100% and color palette 11 (red):
FIXTURE 1 O THRU 1 3 CALL COL @ 1 1 ENTER REC
Tip: For a quick edition of fixtures use the BANKS keys configured in AUTO mode, that are in the
FIXTURES screen and that allow you a direct access to groups, dimmers, positions, colors, gobos, etc. Also
from this FIXTURES screen it’s possible to active EDIT+ mode.
Note: If the PDA is monitoring the console monitors, activated, it’s possible to use the pointer to
select an option of the interactive red-windows, or to select a menu form the menus list.
CROSSFADERS
Remote control can been used to revise the desired cues easily from a crossfader.
The crossfade can be loaded with the desired cues or with a stored page, and then, to execute it:
Load the page 1 in the crossfaders: PAG 1 ASSING
Load the cues 1 to 23 in the crossfader X: CUE 1 THRU 2 3 ASSING
Load alls the stored cues in the crossfader X: CUE ASSING
Execute the next crossfade, press GO
Pause the current crossfade, press P.BACK
Go back the paused crossfade, press P.BACK again.
To execute the crossfade manually, as if its 2 faders are moved at the same time, set the navigation button as
[X] and press to move them up/down.
Remember: ZERO SEQ function allows you to set both crossfaders output at 0% (no scene) and to situate
the last executed cue as next cue.
MASTERS
The masters can be loaded, independently, with the desired group, cue, sequence, effect or controls, to can be
loaded with a page. Beside these masters can be executed manually (fader) and/or automatically (key), in the
same way that in the console.
Examples to load the masters:
Load the page 1: PAG 1 LOAD
Load cues 1 to 12 as list in master 1: CUE 1 THRU 1 2 LOAD M1
Load cues 1 to 12 in masters 2 to 13: CUE 1 THRU 1 2 LOAD LOAD M2
Load effect 1 (Speed mode) in master 25: EFFECT 1 LOAD M25
*Note that the LEDS of M1..M48 are lit in dark blue when its master is loaded.

When the masters are loaded as desired, it’s possible:
Execute the next cue in master 1 (GO): M1
Execute the masters 2, 3 & 4 (GO): M2, M3 & M4
Execute the effect 1 in master 25 (GO): M25
Control the effect 1 in step-to-step mode (STEP): STEP M25 M25 M25 .... STEP
* Note that the LEDS of M1..M48 are lit in light blue or are blinking to show us their corresponding status.
In the previous commands, it’s supposed that M1..M48 are in key mode, in yellow, (in other case the
keys M1..M48 only can be used to configure the virtual master in the screen).
Remember: ZERO MT function allows you to set masters outputs at 0% (no scene).
RESET & SOFTWARE UPDATE
RESET
As computer, the program Reset is the PDA Reset. Usually, the PDA has a Reset button that has access,
thought a hole, pressing with the pointer point.
Remember that switching off the PDA the program doesn’t init its system parameters… When PDA is
switched on again, the program follows in the same status.
To exit of 8700XPPC program, will be necessary execute its command Exist of the menu.
SOFTWARE UPDATE
The program 8700XPPC can be updated with any software version higher. Your Leviton distributor can
informs to you about the new versions, or directly, you can access to our web: http://www.lms.leviton.com/
To update the remote control software, you can follow any of these ways:
1. Send your remote control to your Leviton distributor.
2. Do it you. For this it’s needed:
A personal computer, PC, with the communication software of you PDA
The software files obtained from internet or your Leviton distributor.
Amongst these files there are the instructions for the update process.

Cleaning & basic care
Consult the user manuals of your PDA and WIFI receiver.
Battery
Remember that the batteries are in the habit of having a useful life of 3-5 years, depending on the care and
managing of the same one.
Slow charges of battery are recommended providing that it is possible.
Don’t submit the battery to high temperatures or dampness.
Load the battery with its loader, not to use other "methods" of load not specified in this manual and in the
manual of your PDA.
Guarantee
Any fault of manufacture or bad functioning of his your PDA or WIFI receiver is covered by the guarantee of
the manufacturer (HP, TOSHIBA, DELL, etc). That of generic form, and if these points are not contradicted
by the manufacturer:
Doesn’t contemplate the cases of mistakes produced by a bad use, failures of protection elements or failures
of elements consumables.
The guarantee does not cover the equipments manipulated by the user.
The guarantee does not cover the costs of transport of the equipments up to the points of technical service.
The guarantee covers the hand costs acts and replacements.

Annex I – PDA (Pocket PC)
To install the 8700XPPC software you need a Hand Computer (named generically, Pocket PC, Handheld
PC, PDA, etc.). Devices of any manufacturer are optimums, as long as use the operative system Pocket PC
2003 or higher. They aren’t able, devices with operative systems PALM, PSION, etc. It’s needed that Pocket
PC has a wireless communication system, WIFI, integrated or as card added.
Some general characteristics are:
400MHz processor.
64 RAM & 64 ROM.
4 direct access keys and quadrature key with 5 basic contacts.
3,5” TFT. Resolution: 240 x 320 and 65.000 colors. Pointer & finger touch.
USB port & infrared port. Optional video output.
Connection storage card (SD, CF, etc) or expansion card (Bluetooth, Modem, etc)
Microphone & speaker integrated. Voice recorder. Headphones output.
802.11b net support (compatible WIFI).

PDA has included a Lithium-Ion battery and a specific charger for it. Read carefully the instructions of use
and maintenance of your PDA about these elements. Even so, observe always the following general
warnings:
Battery. Security notes
Don’t break the battery.
Don’t burn or heat the battery.
Don’t shortcut the battery. Don’t connect the metal parts of the battery.
Don’t open the battery.
Don’t submerge into liquid the battery.
Charge the battery using always its specific charger. In other case, the battery can suffer permanent damage.
At the end of its useful life, deposit the battery in a place adapted for this.
Charger. Security notes
Use the charger in the recommended temperatures range. It’s surer and is obtained better charge.
First, connect the charger to the PDA. After, connect it to main supply.
When the charge is complete, disconnect the charger of main supply. After disconnect the PDA.
Not to expose the charger to water or powder.
To avoid the overheating, don’t cover the charger in use.
Use the charger only with the device with the one which has been supplied.
Connect the loader to an easy access point and perfectly visible.
Don’t open the charger under any concept.
