The MV-5 Processor is a landmark product for Lexicon and represents several firsts for the brand,
offering capabilities previously only available in the flagship MC-12 HD. The MV-5 also breaks new
ground with several features not currently available in other Lexicon products – all at a fraction of the
price. At its heart, the MV-5 is a multi-faceted audio and video preamplifier with built-in processing. In
addition, the MV-5 can accommodate a pair of HDMI source devices and can connect directly to a PC
via USB, enabling the control and playback of streaming audio files. With the optional dock accessory,
iPod owners can even play their iPod®music through the MV-5.
Drawing from Lexicon’s background and expertise, the MV-5 Processor features the latest version of
Lexicon’s critically acclaimed Logic 7®decoding. The calling card of all Lexicon processors, Logic 7 has
been widely praised for its ability to greatly enhance the listening experience of any type of source
material – whether it is music, film, TV, or even video games. Using Logic 7 with your system means that your music sounds more natural – more
like you’d hear it at a live event; movies are more compelling, drawing you deeper into the illusion of being there; and video games put you right
in the middle of the action. There’s very little that Logic 7 can’t improve, and it’s just one more reason why Lexicon products are considered to
be the best in the industry. The MV-5 features an automated procedure for use in speaker setup, which also performs system equalization. Most
equalization systems simply knock down the peaks in the response, but the MV-5 calibrates the system more intelligently - compensating for
frequency response aberrations and varied speaker performance, while balancing the entire system for the best overall results. In addition, the MV-5
is capable of storing different calibrations, so up to three different listening positions can be recalled at the touch of a button. The end result is a
system that optimizes the sound quality where it counts the most – at your seat!
The MV-5 is the first Lexicon processor to feature integrated Faroudja®video processing technology. With this superior video capability, the MV-5
can take any incoming video format and up-convert it to HDMI output, so a single HDMI cable can be utilized between the MV-5 and the video
display. The MV-5 can also scale the video to 720p or 1080i output resolution for improved video performance from standard definition sources. In
addition, the MV-5 has two menu pages, per input, devoted solely to advanced user-adjustable video processing features such as Faroudja’s DCDi®,
designed to smooth out the jagged edges caused when video is de-interlaced. Film mode detection, another option, automatically identifies film
sources and restores the proper frame sequence, and the noise reduction option helps to minimize the noise often contained within analog video
signals. Also included are basics such as brightness, sharpness, and contrast.

MV-5 Specifications The remote control, included with the MV-5, is a full-featured universal controller,
designed to run your whole home theater system. Containing an extensive library of
pre-programmed infra-red codes, the MV-5 remote control can replace virtually any other
product remote control. This powerful remote also has the ability to learn commands
from other remote controls, as well as a suite of built-in customizable features. Coupled
with the RF receiver option, you’ll have the power to control your home theater system
– from virtually anywhere in your home. This is particularly useful in installations where
the MV-5 is hidden out of sight or for users who already have a control system for the
home theater and want to use the MV-5 remote control from another room.
The MV-5 provides several other useful features including a RS-232 port for use with
bi-directional control systems as well as an IR input jack for IR based control systems. And
to keep pace with today’s rapidly-changing technology, the MV-5 has two new features
never-before offered in a Lexicon product. You can now listen to the music on your PC
with all of the power and performance of the MV-5, using a USB connection. And with
the optional Dock accessory, you can enter a new world of listening enjoyment through
the combination of the storage capacity and playback flexibility of an iPod with the sonic
power of the MV-5. The connected iPod can even be controlled seamlessly from the
remote control or RS-232 port. Since the MV-5 front panel and on-screen displays keep
you informed of what is happening, you don’t even need to see the iPod to control it.
A flexible menu structure, audio and video processing, automated calibration and EQ,
in-depth customization, multimedia playback features…the MV-5 represents a new age
