onyouraccountorhowandwhereyoupurchasedyourphone,itmaybereadytouseoryoumay

l Whenyouturnthephoneonforthefirsttime,youshouldseeaHands Free Activation
screen,whichmaybefollowedbyaPRL UpdatescreenandaFirmware Updatescreen.

n Ifyoureceivedyourphoneinthemailandyouareactivatinganewphoneforanexistingnumber

Onceyourphoneison,itmaydisplay“SearchingforService.”Whenyourphonefindsasignal,it
entersstandbymode–thephone‘sidlestate.Atthispoint,youarereadytobeginmakingand
receivingcalls.
Ifyourphoneisunabletofindasignalafter15minutesofsearching,aPowerSavefeatureis
automaticallyactivated.Whenasignalisfound,yourphoneautomaticallyreturnstostandbymode.
InPowerSavemode,yourphonesearchesforasignalperiodicallywithoutyourintervention.You
canalsoinitiateasearchforSprintservicebypressinganykey(whenyourphoneisturnedon).
Tip:ThePowerSavefeatureconservesyourbatterypowerwhenyouareinanareawherethereis
nosignal.
