SpaceHeatingBubble
•This bubble is used to turn on and off the central heating system
•To access the space heating bubble: Scroll using the Left or Right arrow until the bubble is centralised
on the controller screen
•When the bubble is centralised, use the Power button to turn the space heating on/off
•The number shown is the target flow temperature of the water leaving the heat pump and entering your heating system
(Please Note: It is NOT room temperature)
•Use the UP and Down arrows to Increase/Decrease the target temperature
(Please Note: Your heating system has been designed to function optimally at a specific flow temperature, which will be
set by the commissioning engineer. Increasing the target temperature may result in the house overheating and higher
running costs)

•This Bubble determines how the target flow temperature of the water leaving the heat pump is set
•Heat Mode: Target Flow Temperature is set by changing the number on the Space Heating Bubble (as outlined earlier)
•Auto Mode (Weather Dependent Mode): The Target Flow Temperature is determined basedontheambientairoutside.
If there is a decrease in air temperature outside the unit will automatically increase its target flow temperature and vice versa
•To access the Heat/Auto Bubble: Scroll using the Left or Right arrow until the bubble is centralised on the controller screen
•When the bubble is centralised, use the Up & Down arrows to switch between modes
•To Increase Target Temperature in Auto Mode: When in Auto Mode, the target temperature can be ‘offset’ by +/‐ 5°C by
using the Up & Down Arrows

•This Bubble is used to turn on and off the domestic hot water
•To access the hot water bubble: Scroll using the Left or Right arrow until the bubble is centralised on the controller screen
•When the bubble is centralised, use the Power button to turn hot water on/off
•Use the Up & Down Arrows to Increase/Decrease Target Temperature in hot water cylinder
•DHW Boost Mode: The hot water should be set 50°C This is sufficient for normal hot water usage. Should you require
more hot water at a particular time (lots of showers etc.) you can ‘BOOST’ the temperature of the hot water temporarily.
This is done by holding the ‘Back’ button for 3 seconds while the hot water bubble is centralised on the screen.
When Boost mode is activated a lightning symbol will appear beside the shower head.
The immersion heater will then be used to get the tank to 60°C, once this is achieved
the unit will automatically return to normal operation

•Low Noise Mode: When activated, the unit will decease the frequency of the fan and compressor and thus the noise
•Under normal operating conditions, it is not necessary or recommended to use this function

•This is the main information display screen and can be accessed by pressing the ‘Back’ button when on the main Bubble screen
(to return to the Bubble screen simply press the ‘Back’ button again)
•The information display screen shows exactly what is happening in the system at any given time.

Schedules & Edit: Allows homeowner to set on/off operation of
space heating (Room) and hot water (DHW)
Period – Start Year (Month: Day) – Stop Year (Month: Day)
Customize – Edit specific day of month
Time: Edit specific time of day
Operation: Set on/off operation, set mode, set temperature
Please note: Schedules will have been pre‐set by the Commissioning Engineer. It is highly recommend
not to alter any schedules and simply use the thermostats to control the operation of the system
Daily Schedule: Allows user to monitor
current schedules that have been set
Room: Provides information on Current Room
Schedule & Temperatures
Simple Timer: Allows homeowner to start or stop the unit’s
operation in a timeframe of 1 – 7 hours
When unit is operating: Set time to stop unit
When unit is Off: Set time to bring unit on
Please note: The heat pump operates at its most efficient when left on constantly in order to keep the
house at a steady temperature. Setting timers may result in the unit operating inefficiently and result in
higher running costs. It is not recommended to set Timers
Energy: (Only When Energy Monitroing Accessory is Installed)
Allows homeowner to monitor the energy usage of the heat pump
Instantaneous Power – Displays energy usage information about the heat pump in that moment of time
Power/Calories – Displays energy usage information over a certain selected time period
Year‐ on‐Year Usage: Compares energy usage over separate years
Monthly Trend: Displays energy usage information over a month
Weekly Trend: Displays energy usage information over the course of a week

In the unlikely event that the system detects an
abnormality in operation conditions, it will cease
operating to protect the unit an alarm code will be
displayed.
Power Supply Failure
In the event of a power supply failure all displays
disappear. If the unit stops due to a power shortage, it will
not start again, even though the power comes back on.
Carry out the start‐up operations again. If the power
failure lasts less than 2 seconds, the unit will start again
automatically.

Energy Efficiency Tips
Best Practice
The below points are best practice guidelines. Following these will ensure your unit runs at it’s
maximum efficiency, saving you money whilst maintaining a comfortable andhealthyhome.
•When setting your thermostats ensure they are set at a minimum of 18°C. This will avoid the
heatpump bringing on the backup heater in colder weather due to low return water temperatures.
•Each degree you turn your thermostats down by can save you up to 6% on your heating bills.
•Best practice for cost‐effective electricity bills is to leave heatpump timed for constant on and
controlled by thermostats so house temperature is constantly kept in a steady state.
•Whilst night rate electricity is cheaper than day rate electricity runningyourheatpumponnightrate
will reduce it’s efficiency due to lower ambient air temperatures at night time. The reduced efficiency
may well offset and savings in the rate of electricity.
•Boosting the hot water will make use of the electrical immersions in the heat pump, this will increase
the running costs of the system if used frequently. The hot water schedule has been programmed
during commissioning for all day comfort and efficiency in a family home. Hence, boosting of hot
water should be a rare occurrence.
Further Points
The temperature displayed on the controller is the required flow temperature of the water in your
system, it is not the temperature of the room. The room temperature is displayed on the stats only.
Servicing & Warranty
LG heat pumps come with a 7 year warranty as standard (subject to T & Cs). This warranty is
subject to an annual service being carried out on the unit.
