Introduction
Linca au oma ic fill wa er boilers are designed for con inuous opera ion and should only be
swi ched off for he purposes of main enance or emergency.
Accessories
The new boiler is supplied wi h he following componen s and should be verified before
ins alla ion.
• Approved flexible wa er connec ion hose.
• Pack of de-scaling compound.
• Spillage ray and grid.
• Ins ruc ion bookle .
• Guaran ee card.
The EB3 model is supplied wi h a 3 pin bonded plug and lead fi ed wi h a 13Amp fuse as
s andard.
The EB range of boilers is surface moun ed and carries he op ion of being wall moun ed. Wall
fixing ki s are an op ional ex ra.
The EB range has a unique drainage sys em o allow for ease of ank evacua ion during rou ine
de-scaling of he appliance. I is no necessary o inver he appliance during he de-scaling
procedure.
These ins ruc ions mus be re ained for safekeeping and for fu ure reference.
Please read carefull all the instructions before commencing with the
installation and commissioning of the appliance.

Please read he following carefully before commencing work on his equipmen .

and competent person as defined b the regulations in force in the countr of installation.
During normal use of he appliance cer ain surface areas will become ho . These areas are
especially in he vicini y of he face and spigo . Care should be aken o avoid po en ial injury
from burns and scolding whils opera ing he appliance.
Scale forma ion wi hin ho wa er appliances is problema ic and more so in hard wa er areas.
Damage o he appliance caused by excessive scale build up may invalida e he warran y – see
no es on de-scaling.
Use only he supplied par s wi h he appliance. In roducing foreign componen s no approved by
he manufac urer may cause ain ing of he wa er and may also invalida e he warran y.

Installation Preparation
Work Surfaces and Areas
• Ensure ha he work surface upon which he appliance is o be si ed is capable of sus aining
he working weigh of he appliance.
• Considera ion should be given for servicing requiremen s.
• Ensure ha safe opera ional access o he appliance is unres ric ed.
• Do no si e he appliance direc ly benea h wall cupboards, o her wall moun ed appliances and
low ceilings ha are suscep ible o damage from wa er vapour.
• Where he appliance is o be wall moun ed i is recommended ha he safe working heigh
from he floor o he fauce is approxima ely 1400mm.
Water Connection
• Connec ion o he cold wa er supply and he appliance is made via he hose supplied. The
hose can be found inside he ank of he appliance and mus be removed before ins alla ion
and commissioning.
• In hard wa er areas i is advisable o fi a fil ra ion uni o limi scale deposi s. A fil er ki is
available as an op ional ex ra.
Electrical Connection
• All elec rical work mus comply wi h all relevan wiring regula ions and carried ou by a
qualified elec rician.
• EB3 models require a 13Amp-supply socke .
• EB4 models require a 20Amp supply.
• EB6 models require a 30Amp single or mul i-phase supply.
• Isola ion swi ches for he appliance mus no be obs ruc ed and be wi hin easy reach.
Overflow and Drainage
• Due o he elec ronic func ion of he wa er boiler i is highly unlikely han an overflow would
occur. The boiler is primarily designed so ha any overflow occurrence and condensa ion is
direc ly ven ed o he spillage ray.
• As an op ion he boiler overflow ou le may be connec ed o a drainage sys em.
No e: There may some s eam emissions from he ven a he base of he appliance during he
ini ial fill s ages bu he s eam emissions will lessen as he volume of wa er increases in he ank.
As an al erna ive he in ernal flexible hose may be redirec ed. See no es on Overflow and
Drainage in he Ins alla ion sec ion.
WARNING. The flexible hose connec ed from he over flow also ac s as a ven for he appliance.
Under no circumstances should this flexible hose become blocked or restricted in an wa .

Installation
Qualified personnel must carr out all installation work.
Work Surface Installation
The work surface on o which he appliance is o be si ed mus have he relevan physical

FLOOR LEVEL
Wall Bracket Installation
Where he appliance is o be moun ed o a wall ensure he wall is cons ruc ed of a sui able
ma erial o sus ain he working weigh of he boiler.
• To fi he wall bracke make a cen re mark on he wall a approxima ely 1400mm from he
floor.
• In he orien a ion shown, align he hole in he cen re rib of he wall bracke wi h he cen re
mark on he wall.
• Ensuring he wall bracke is level, mark ou he remaining holes.
• Drill 4 off 7mm diame er holes using a sui able masonry drill a a dep h o
accommoda e he wall-fixing plugs issued wi h he bracke .
• Fi he wall-fixing plugs and a ach he wall bracke using he
screws issued wi h he wall bracke .
Fixing the Boiler to the Wall Bracket
• Align he upper wall bracke abs wi h he slo s in he op of he
back panel on he boiler.
• Align he lower wall bracke abs wi h he slo s in he base of he boiler.
• Clip he boiler in o place.
• The boiler mus be secured o he base of he bracke using M5 screws.
Fitting the Spillage Tra Bracket
• Remove he four fee from he base of he boiler.
• Secure he spillage ray bracke o he base of he boiler using he four fee fixing posi ions.
The bracke is o be fi ed wi h M5 screws issued wi h he bracke . Longer screws may
damage componen s wi hin he boiler and herefore invalida e he warran y.
• Fi he spillage ray o he bracke .
Do not attach electrical cables or water suppl pipes to the wall bracket.
Connection of the Water Suppl
The minimum working pressure of he appliance is 20kPa (0.2Bar).
The maximum working pressure of he appliance is 1000kPa(10Bar).
• The appliance is o be plumbed o a sui able drinking wa er supply ha complies wi h
na ional Wa er Bylaws.
• The recommended connec ion is made via he
flexible hose supplied wi h he appliance. The
fi ings are ¾" BSP.
• The main wa er supply mus have a double check
valve fi ed.
• I is advisable o fi an isola ion valve o he main
wa er supply and ha where possible he flexible
hose is connec ed direc ly o i before connec ion
o he appliance is made. There mus be
unres ric ed access o he isola ing valve.
• To minimise he scale build up in hard wa er areas
he op ional fil er ki may be connec ed be ween he
wa er isola ing valve and he appliance.

• Connec ion of he appliance o he wa er supply mus also allow for reasonable service access
unless he appliance is si ua ed in high-risk areas.
Overflow and Drainage
• The overflow from he ank is connec ed via a flexible ube o a ven por moun ed in ernally
of he appliance.
• The primary func ion of his fea ure is o cap ure he small amoun s of condensed s eam
produced during normal opera ion of he appliance.
• In he unlikely even of an overflow occurrence he spillage ray has a limi ed capaci y and
should no be deemed as a safeguard agains overflow.
• As an op ion he flexible ube can be removed from he lower in ernal ven and redirec ed
hrough he base o a sui able drainage sys em.
• The drainage sys em o which he flexible ube is o be connec ed mus have a con inuous fall
and have a grea er diame er han ha of he flexible ube. Al erna ively, he flexible ube can
be direc ed o a gully where no risk of con ac wi h ho wa er by persons using he building
can be considered as a means of safe drainage.
• The flexible ube mus no be connec ed direc ly o a soil sys em.
• The ube from he overflow mus remain connec ed o he overflow on he ank.
• The overflow ube mus never become blocked or res ric ed in any way.
Electricit Suppl
All appliances mus be ear hed.
The EB3 model is supplied wi h a 3 pin bonded plug and lead fi ed wi h a 13Amp fuse as
s andard. The plug is o be connec ed o a sui able mains socke . The wiring markings are as
follows: -

All appliances wi h an elec rical loading of over 3kW mus be connec ed o he supply by a
qualified elec rician in accordance wi h Heal h & Safe y a Works Ac , IEE regula ions, BS codes
of prac ice, Building S andards, Local Au hori y and Building regula ions e c. A sui able means
of disconnec ing such uni s from he supply mus be provided, having a leas 3mm con ac
separa ion a all poles.
The EB4 model should be wired o a leas a 20Amp single-phase supply via an isola ion swi ch.
The isola ion swi ch mus be so posi ioned for immedia e access in case of emergency shu down.
The EB6 model should be wired o a leas a 30Amp single phase or mul i-phase supply via an
isola ion swi ch. The isola ion swi ch mus be so posi ioned for immedia e access in case of
emergency shu down.
• To wire he EB4 and EB6 models remove he access panel a he rear of he appliance.
• Remove he TEST WIRES from he erminal block and cable gland.
• For EB6 models o be wired from a mul i-phase supply remove he LINK wire from he
erminal block.
• In roduce he new cable from he isola ion swi ch o he appliance via he cable gland and
wire o he erminal block as follows:-

• Secure all wiring and connec ions.
• Replace he access panel.

Commissioning the Appliance
• Remove all pro ec ive plas ic coa ing.
• Check ha he drain down valve is closed.
• Ensure ha he upper and lower level sensors are in a ver ical posi ion.
• Ensure ha all lids are fi ed correc ly.
• Ensure ha he fauce is in he closed posi ion.
• Wi h all appropria e services connec ed urn on he wa er supply.
• Swi ch on he elec rici y supply. The illumina ion of he green neon will signify "power on"
o he appliance.
• The appliance will now begin o fill wi h wa er.
• Upon he wa er reaching he lower elemen sensor he solenoid will close and he elemen (s)
will begin o hea he wa er.
• Approxima e hea ing imes for he ini ial fill is: -
EB3 – 12 minu es EB4 – 9 minu es EB6 – 9 minu es
• Af er he ini ial fill allow a fur her 5 minu es af er which approxima ely 1li er of ho wa er
will be available for use.
• Upon reaching maximum empera ure he appliance will call for more wa er. This is he s ar
of he cycle.
• The appliance will con inue o cycle un il he wa er level reaches he upper level sensor.
• Approxima e fill cycle imes from he lower sensor o he upper sensor are: -
EB3 – 27 minu es EB4 – 32 minu es EB6 – 35 minu es
• Upon he wa er reaching he upper level sensor he appliance will swi ch in o s andby mode.
• As ho wa er is drawn off, he appliance will au oma ically begin o cycle un il he wa er
reaches he upper level sensor.
Note to Installation Engineer
• Ins ruc he end user on he opera ing fea ures of he appliance.
• Ins ruc he end user how o isola e all services in case of emergency.
• Ins ruc he end user on cleaning and de-scaling of he appliance.
• Advise he end user ha hese ins ruc ions should be re ained for safekeeping.

User Instructions

• Only qualified personnel should a emp any rou ine or necessary main enance work on he
appliance.
Operating the Appliance
• Place a cup or sui able ho wa er con ainer, cen ral o he ap, upon he spillage ray.
• To draw off ho wa er, pull he fauce handle owards he user. Ho wa er will be dispensed a
a s eady flow un il he wa er capaci y is reduced o he level of he spigo . Upon releasing he
fauce handle, he handle will re urn o he closed posi ion.
• For larger con ainers he fauce handle may be pulled o he horizon al posi ion hereby
locking he fauce open. The fauce handle will hen have o be manually re urned o he
closed posi ion. Warning. Whils he fauce handle is in he locked open posi ion he
appliance mus no be lef una ended.
• As ho wa er is drawn off he appliance will au oma ically begin he fill cycle. The filling
cycle will con inue un il he appliance goes in o s andby mode. The leng h of he fill ime o
full capaci y depends upon he volume of ho wa er drawn off.
• Do no remove he lids from he appliance whils in full opera ion as hese par s become ho .
Cleaning
To clean he appliance use only a sof damp clo h and mild de ergen . Do no us abrasives on he
mirror-finished surfaces as damage may resul . Care should be aken when cleaning ou er
surfaces whils he appliance is in full opera ion as cer ain areas become ho during normal
opera ion.
I will be necessary from ime o ime during normal opera ion o inspec he spillage ray for
wa er. Emp y he spillage ray as and when necessary.
Warning. The appliance is no pro ec ed agains he ingress of wa er. The appliance mus no be
submerged for cleaning purposes. Do no use wa er je spray cleaning equipmen on he
appliance. The appliance is splash pro ec ed and has he code IP24B.
Scale
The forma ion of scale wi hin a ho wa er sys em is common and if lef unchecked may cause
problems o he func ioning of he appliance. In hard wa er areas scale forma ion builds up
quicker han in sof er wa er areas herefore checks on scale forma ion need o be more frequen . I
is advisable, in order o preven injury, he appliance be isola ed and allowed o cool before
inspec ing for scale deposi s wi hin he ank.
Warning. Under no circums ances should his appliance be connec ed o he ou le of a wa er
sof ener.
Please no e ha he manufac ures guaran ee will be void if faul s arise which are due o excessive
build up of scale.
To help preven scale build up a fil er sys em can be ins alled wi h he appliance. The fil er is
available as an op ional ex ra upon reques .

De-scaling the Appliance
I is recommended ha he appliance be de-scaled regularly. Excessive scale deposi s may
become difficul o remove wi h some de-scaling produc s.
• To de-scale he appliance, isola e he appliance from he wa er and elec rici y supply.
• Allow he wa er o cool o preven possible injury when removing par s.
• Remove he ou er and inner lids.
• Add he de-scaling compound, a li le a a ime, o he cooled wa er. Some de-scaling
compounds may cause ho wa er o erup . I is advisable o follow he ins ruc ions of he
manufac urers.
• Replace he inner and ou er lids of he appliance.
• Turn on he wa er and elec rici y supply.
• Allow he appliance o hea and run in s andby mode for approxima ely 30 minu es, af er
which, isola e he services and allow he wa er o cool.
• Remove he lid sys em and inspec he ank for scale deposi s. In he case of severe scale
deposi s i may be necessary o repea he de-scaling process.
• On comple ion of successful de-scaling, evacua e he ank via he fauce . To comple e he
evacua ion of he ank, move, if possible, he appliance so ha he leading edge of he
appliance over hangs he work surface no exceeding 30mm. Place a sui able con ainer
direc ly below he appliance over hang o cap ure he discharge from he ank. If i is no
possible o move he appliance on he work surface he remaining con en s of he ank can be
drained in o he spillage ray. No e. The spillage ray has a small limi ed capaci y. Where he
appliance is wall moun ed he con ainer can be placed benea h he appliance.
• Examine he level sensor housings for scale build up and o her deposi s, clean as necessary.
Failure o do so may incur problems wi h racking from sensor housing o he ank wall
hereby giving false signals o he circui board and ul ima ely cause failure of he appliance.
• Inser a fla bladed screwdriver in o he drain valve screw and ro a e an i-clockwise o loosen
he screw. Con inue o ro a e he screw an i-clockwise un il a s eady flow is observed from
he valve.
• Evacua e he ank comple ely and close he valve by ro a ing he valve screw clockwise.
Ensure he valve screw is fully home.
• I will be necessary o purge he ank, urn on he wa er and elec rici y supply and allow he
appliance o fill. Do no fill he ank manually wi h wa er as spillage may damage he
elec rical componen s of he appliance and herefore invalida e he warran y.
• Drain he ank as described above and refill he appliance.
• If he wa er is free of ain ing ha may be caused by he use of some de-scaling compounds
hen he appliance is ready for use.

Maintenance
Qualified personnel mus carry ou all main enance work on he appliance.

Replacing Parts
Before removing and replacing any par on he appliance he appliance mus be isola ed from he
wa er and elec rici y supply.
Replacemen of par s mus be par s approved by he manufac urer.
Thermostat
• Remove he ou er lid.
• Remove he re aining screws from he back panel and slide he back panel ver ically upward.
• Remove he re aining screws from he access panel.
• Loosen he hermos a gland and wi hdraw he hermos a bulb hrough he union.
• Remove he wires from he hermos a erminals, no ing he connec ions.
• Loosen he hermos a re aining screws and remove he hermos a .
• Fi he new hermos a and assemble in reverse order.
• Elec rically es he appliance.
Contactor
• Remove he re aining screws from he access panel.
• Remove he wires from he con ac or erminals, no ing he connec ions.
• Spring he con ac or-re aining clip o free he con ac or from he bracke .
• Fi he new con ac or, ensuring he con ac or is fully sea ed on he bracke , and assemble in
reverse order.
• Elec rically es he appliance.
Solenoid
• Drain he ank as described earlier in he de-scaling rou ine.
• Remove he re aining screws from he access panel.
• Loosen he solenoid re aining screws.
• Loosen he pipe clip.
• Remove he wires from he solenoid erminals, no ing he connec ions.
• Wi hdraw he solenoid. There may be a small quan i y of wa er remaining in he hose.
• Fi he new solenoid and assemble in reverse order.
• Elec rically es he appliance.
Circuit Board
• Remove he ou er lid.
• Remove he re aining screws from he back panel and slide he back panel ver ically upward.
• Remove he re aining screws from he access panel.
• Remove he wires from he solenoid, con ac or/ hermos a , neon, erminal block, and elemen ,
upper and lower sensors. No e: To free he wires from he neon, loosen he ank-re aining
bracke and ease ha ank backward o gain access o he neon housing.
• Free he circui board from he moun ing clips.
• Fi he new circui board and assemble in reverse order. A en ion mus be given o he wiring
on he level sensors.
• Elec rically es he appliance.

Neon
• Remove he ou er lid.
• Remove he re aining screws from he back panel and slide he back panel ver ically upward.
• Remove he re aining screws from he access panel.
• Loosen he ank-re aining bracke and ease ha ank backward o gain access o he neon
housing. No e: Remove any addi ional par s as necessary in order o move he ank.
• Remove he wires from he neon erminals.
• Depress he neon housing and slide he housing free from he lens. No e: The lens will be free
o be ex rac ed from he neon bezel.
• Fi he new neon housing and assemble in reverse order.
• Elec rically es he appliance.
Faucet
• Evacua e he ank o he level of he fauce . Par ially drain he ank as described in he de-
scaling rou ine.
• Loosen he fauce -re aining nu and remove he fauce . No e: To remove he fauce -re aining
nu , remove he circlip.
• Fi he new fauce and assemble in reverse order.
Tank
• Drain he ank as described earlier in he de-scaling rou ine.
• Remove he fauce .
• Remove he ou er lid.
• Remove he re aining screws from he back panel and slide he back panel ver ically upward.
• Remove he re aining screws from he access panel.
• Free he con ac or/ hermos a from he moun ing bracke and remove he ank-re aining
bracke .
• Remove he middle and inner lids.
• Remove he drain hose from he ank connec or.
• Remove he overflow hose form he ank ven pipe.
• Loosen he solenoid re aining screws.
• Remove he wires from he solenoid erminals, no ing he connec ions.
• Remove he wires from he level sensors.
• Wi hdraw he ank.
• Remove he ank connec or, level sensors and fi o he new ank.
• Fi he new ank and assemble in reverse order.
• Elec rically es he appliance.
