This device is a switching type power supply and can work with supply voltages in the range 100 - 240
VAC For worldwide usability four different AC adapters are enclosed: Euro type, UK type, US/Japan type
and Australia/New Zealand type. Use the appropriate AC adapter as shown in the picture and ensure it
is firmly secured in place and does not detach by pulling before installing into a power socket.

Instructions for Use of Power Supply
Plug the appropriate country adapter into the power supply, the construction prevents incorrect insertion.
Through a short rotation of about 20 degrees, the adapter snaps into place this will be audible and tactile.
After the snap, the adapter will not turn back. Before use always make sure that the adapter sits firmly in
the power supply and cannot be twisted and removed.

Thank you for purchasing this Fibre Optic HDMI 10.2 G extender. This product has been designed to
provide trouble free, reliable operation. It benefits from both a LINDY 2-year warranty and free lifetime
technical support. To ensure correct use, please read this manual carefully and retain it for future
reference.
The Lindy Fibre Optic HDMI 10.2G Extender is a cost effective, high performance solution for sending
HDMI signals over incredible distances. Using a standard off the shelf LC duplex multimode fibre optic
cable to make the long distance connection, the extender supports uncompressed HDMI signal
transmission for resolutions up to 4K Ultra HD 60Hz (4:2:0), making it ideal for use in high end home
cinema installations, large scale AV setups in sports bars and digital signage applications.

Installation
Before starting the installation, please ensure that all devices are powered off.
1. Connect an HDMI source to the Fibre Optic Transmitter device using a HDMI cable (maximum length
5m).
2. Remove the dust covers from the Fibre Optic Transmitter and Receiver ports and the Fibre Cable.
3. Connect one end of the duplex fibre cable to the optical port on the Transmitter and the other end to
the optical port of the Receiver. This must be set up as 1:1 connection and NOT as a cross over
connection as provided by some Duplex Cables with pre-installed clamps on the Duplex connector. If
you have such a cross over cable please exchange the connectors with each other on one end. Please
ensure that the connectors are fully engaged before proceeding.
4. Use another HDMI cable (maximum length 5m) to connect an HDMI display to the HDMI port on the
Receiver.
5. Plug the DC power supplies into the HDMI transmitter and receiver, respectively.
6. Power on the HDMI Source and Display to complete the installation.
As well as extending a HDMI signal the extender can also repeat IR remote commands/signals, with the
use of the optional IR Repeater Kit, allowing you to control your HDMI source whilst up to 3000m away.
Connect the IR Repeater Transmitter and Receiver to the relevant ports on the Fibre Optic Transmitter and
Receiver. Please visit your local Lindy website for more information.
Troubleshooting
There is no display on the screen.
Please note: If both the signal source and display support a higher colour space which require more than
10.2Gbps bandwidth, i.e. YCbCr 4:4:4 8 bit @ 60 Hz, you will receive a blank screen as the HDMI source
will automatically (due to EDID communication) send the higher colour space which exceeds the
bandwidth available of the extender.
In this case you must force the HDMI source to send a lower colour space before you will receive a picture.
▪Check that the DC plugs and jacks used by external power supplies (both the extender units and
others) are firmly connected.
▪Check that the Fibre Connectors are plugged in correctly and that the Link Status LED is lit. If it is not
lit check if your cable uses a cross over configuration and change it to 1:1.
▪Check that the HDMI source and display are both powered on and active.
▪Power off all the devices, then power on in this order: first, the transmitter and receiver modules, then
the display and finally the source.
▪Make sure you have not mixed up the Duplex fibres with each other at one end.
▪Reduce the length of HDMI cable used.

Installation
Bevor Sie mit der Installation beginnen, stellen Sie sicher, dass alle Geräte ausgeschaltet sind.
1. Schließen Sie eine HDMI-Quelle mittels eines HDMI-Kabels an den Transmitter an.
2. Entfernen Sie die Staubabdeckungen an den Transmitter- und Receiver-Anschlüssen und am
Glasfaserkabel.
3. Schließen Sie ein Ende des Duplex-Glasfaserkabels an den optischen Anschluss am Transmitter an
und das andere Ende am optischen Anschluss des Receivers. Dies muss eine 1:1-Verbindung sein
und keine Überkreuz-Verbindung, wie sie bei einigen Duplex-Kabeln mit vorinstallierten Klammern am
Duplex-Anschluss der Fall ist. Falls Sie ein solches Crossover-Kabel haben, tauschen Sie die Stecker
jeweils miteinander. Bitte stellen Sie sicher, dass die Anschlüsse fest verankert sind, bevor Sie
fortfahren.
4. Benutzen Sie ein weiteres HDMI-Kabel (maximale Länge: 5m) um ein HDMI-Display an den HDMI-
Anschluss des Receivers anzuschließen.
5. Stecken Sie die DC-Stromversorgungskabel entsprechend in den HDMI Transmitter und Receiver.
6. Schalten Sie HDMI-Quelle und Display ein, um die Installation abzuschließen.
Neben der Übertragung von HDMI-Signalen über längere Distanzen, können auch IR-
Fernbedienungssignale verlängert werden. Dies funktioniert mit dem optionalen IR-Repeater-Kit, welches
eine Verlängerung der Signale auf bis zu 3000m erlaubt. Schließen Sie den IR-Repeater Transmitter und
Receiver an den entsprechenden Anschlüssen am Transmitter und Receiver an. Bitte besuchen Sie Ihre

Fehlersuche
Der Bildschirm zeigt kein Bild.
Bitte beachten Sie: Wenn die Signal-Quelle und auch das Display einen größeren Farbraum unterstützen,
welcher eine höhere Bandbreite als 10.2Gbit/s benötigt, z.B. YCBr 4:4:4 8Bit @60Hz, erhalten Sie einen
schwarzen Bildschirm, da die HDMI-Quelle (aufgrund der EDID-Kommunikation) automatisch den
größeren Farbraum sendet, welcher die Bandbreite des Extenders übersteigt.
In diesem Falle müssen Sie die HDMI-Quelle dazu bringen, einen geringeren Farbraum zu senden, damit
Sie ein Bild erhalten.
▪Prüfen Sie, dass die DC-Stecker der externen Stromversorgung richtig eingesteckt sind.
▪Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Glasfaser-Anschlüsse richtig eingesteckt sind und, dass die Link Status-
LED leuchtet. Falls die LED nicht leuchtet, prüfen Sie, ob ihr Kabel eine Crossover-Konfiguration nutzt
und ändern dies zu 1:1.
▪Prüfen Sie, dass sowohl HDMI-Quelle als auch Display eingeschaltet sind.
▪Schalten Sie alle Geräte aus und dann in dieser Reihenfolge wieder ein: Transmitter und Receiver,
Display und Quelle.
▪Stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie die Duplex-Glasfasern nicht vertauscht haben.
▪Reduzieren Sie die Länge des HDMI-Kabels.

Instructions d’utilisation de l’alimentation
Connectez le bon adaptateur dans l’alimentation. La conception de
l’adaptateur empêche une mauvaise mise en place. Une brève rotation
d’environ 20 degrés permet de mettre en place l’adaptateur, de façon audible
et tactile. La rotation en sens contraire ne doit plus être possible après mise
en place.
Assurez-vous de la bonne mise en place dans l’alimentation avant de le
brancher.
Pour retirer l’adaptateur de l’alimentation, poussez le bouton de verrouillage
vers le bas et tournez l’adaptateur jusqu’à ce que vous puissiez le retirer.

Installation
Avant de commencer l'installation, veuillez vous assurer que tous les appareils sont éteints.
1. Connectez une source HDMI au Transmitter en utilisant un câble HDMI (maximum 5m).
2. Retirez les capuchons anti-poussière des ports de l'émetteur et du récepteur à fibre optique et de la
fibre optique.
3. Connectez une extrémité du câble à fibre duplex au port optique de l'émetteur et l'autre extrémité au
port optique du récepteur. Il doit s'agir d'une connexion 1:1 et NON d'une connexion croisée comme
celle fournie par certains câbles duplex avec des pinces préinstallées sur le connecteur duplex. Si
vous disposez d'un tel câble croisé, veuillez échanger les connecteurs entre eux à une extrémité.
Veuillez vous assurer que les connecteurs sont bien enclenchés avant de continuer
4. Utilisez un autre câble HDMI (longueur maximale de 5m) pour connecter un écran HDMI au port HDMI
du récepteur.
5. Branchez les blocs d'alimentation DC dans l'émetteur et le récepteur HDMI, respectivement.
6. Allumez la source et l'écran HDMI pour terminer l'installation.
En plus de prolonger un signal HDMI, l'extender peut également répéter des commandes/signaux à
distance IR, grâce au kit de répétition IR en option, vous permettant de contrôler votre source HDMI
jusqu'à une distance de 3000m. Connectez l'émetteur et le récepteur du répéteur IR aux ports
correspondants del'émetteur et durécepteur àfibre optique. Pour plus d'informations, veuillez consulter

Dépannage
Aucune image ne s’affiche à l’écran.
Remarque: si la source de signal et l'écran prennent en charge un espace chromatique supérieur qui
nécessite une bande passante de plus de 10,2 Gbit/s, c'est-à-dire YCbCr 4:4:4 8 bits à 60 Hz, vous
obtiendrez un écran vide car la source HDMI enverra automatiquement (en raison de la communication
EDID) l'espace chromatique supérieur qui dépasse la bande passante disponible de l'extender.
Dans ce cas, vous devez forcer la source HDMI à envoyer un espace colorimétrique inférieur pour obtenir
une image.
▪Vérifiez que les fiches et les prises DC utilisées par les alimentations externes sont fermement
connectées.
▪Vérifiez que les connecteurs de fibres sont correctement branchés et que la LED d'état de la liaison
est allumée. S'il n'est pas allumé, vérifiez que votre câble n’utilise pas de configuration croisée et
changez-le à 1:1.
▪Vérifiez que la source HDMI et l'écran sont tous deux allumés et actifs.
▪Éteignez tous les appareils, puis mettez-les sous tension dans cet ordre: d'abord, les modules
émetteur et récepteur, puis l'écran et enfin la source.
▪Assurez-vous que vous n'avez pas mélangé les fibres Duplex entre elles à une extrémité.

Questo dispositivo ha un alimentatore a commutazione che può funzionare con tensioni di alimentazione
all’interno del range 100…240 VAC. La fornitura comprende quattro adattatori AC per prese di tutto il
mondo: Euro, UK, US/Giappone e Australia/Nuova Zelanda. Utilizzate l’adattatore AC appropriato e
montatelo come mostrato nell’immagine, assicurandovi che sia fissato correttamente e che non si
stacchi estraendolo dalla presa.
Per ridurre il rischio di incendi, folgorazione o danni:
▪Non aprite il prodotto o l’alimentatore. Non esistono componenti utilizzabili all'interno.
▪La riparazione o manutenzione del prodotto può essere effettuata solo da personale qualificato.

Istruzioni per l’uso dell’alimentatore
Inserite la spina che vi occorre nell’adattatore. Gli attacchi si agganciano in
modo da evitare inserimenti scorretti. Appoggiate l’adattatore nella relativa
sede e ruotatelo leggermente di 20 gradi circa, facendo attenzione che gli
attacchi si aggancino nella loro sede. Una volta agganciati, l’adattatore
rimane fisso nella sua sede.
Prima di utilizzarlo assicuratevi che la spina sia agganciata saldamente.

Questo Extender su Fibra Ottica HDMI 10.2G è una soluzione ad alte prestazioni per inviare segnali
HDMI su distanze molto lunghe. Necessita di un cavo in fibra ottica standard LC duplex multimodale
della lunghezza desiderata, supporta segnali HDMI non compressi per risoluzioni fino a 4K Ultra HD
60Hz (4:2:0), l’ideale in installazioni home cinema e applicazioni AV digital signage.

Installazione
Prima di iniziare l’installazione, assicurarsi che tutti i dispositivi siano spenti.
1. Collegare una sorgente HDMI al trasmettitore utilizzando un cavo HDMI (lunghezza massima 5m).
2. Rimuovere i tappi anti polvere dalle porte per la fibra ottica su trasmettitore e ricevitore.
3. Collegare il cavo in fibra ottica duplex alle porte ottiche delle due unità. Accertarsi di effettuare una
connessione 1:1 e NON incrociata come spesso può accadere con alcuni cavi con ferma connettore
pre installato. Se si sta utilizzando un cavo in fibra incrociato, scambiare i connettori da un capo del
cavo. Assicurarsi che i connettori siano ben inseriti prima di procedere.
4. Utilizzare un altro cavo HDMI (lunghezza massima 5m) per collegare uno schermo HDMI alla porta
HDMI sul ricevitore.
5. Collegare l’alimentatore rispettivamente al trasmettitore e al ricevitore.
6. Alimentare sorgente e schermo HDMI per completare l’installazione.
Oltre ad estendere un segnale HDMI, l’extender supporta anche segnali IR con l’aggiunta del kit
ripetitore IR opzionale, per poter controllare la sorgente HDMI anche a distanza. Collegare il ripetitore IR
alle relative porte su trasmettitore e ricevitore. Per ulteriori informazioni consultare il sito Lindy.
Risoluzione dei problemi
Nessun segnale visualizzato sul display.
Nota Bene: se sorgente o display supportano uno spazio colore che necessita di una banda superiore a
10.2Gbps, ad esempio YCbCr 4:4:4 8 bit @ 60 Hz, verrà visualizzata una schermata nera e la sorgente
HDMI invierà automaticamente (a causa della comunicazione EDID) lo spazio colore più alto che supererà
quindi la banda massima supportata dall’extender.
In questo caso occorre forzare la sorgente HDMI per inviare un segnale conspazio colore più basso prima
di ricevere l’immagine.
▪Controllare che alimentatori e connettori DC (su entrambe le unità) siano connessi correttamente.
▪Controllare che i cavi in fibra siano collegati correttamente e che il LED di stato sia acceso. In caso
contrario controllare che il cavo non sia incrociato, in questo caso modificarlo in 1:1.
▪Controllare che la sorgente e il display HDMI siano alimentati ed accesi.
▪Spegnere tutti i dispositivi, quindi accenderli di nuovo nel seguente ordine: trasmettitore, ricevitore,
display e sorgente.
▪Assicurarsi di non aver invertito i cavi Duplex da un lato.
▪Ridurre la lunghezza dei cavi HDMI utilizzati.

and electronic equipment. It is no longer allowable to simply throw away electrical and electronic equipment. Instead,
these products must enter the recycling process.
Each individual EU member state has implemented the WEEE regulations into national law in slightly different ways.
Please follow your national law when you want to dispose of any electrical or electronic products. More details can

Germany / Deutschland Rücknahme Elektroschrott und Batterie-Entsorgung
Die Europäische Union hat mit der WEEE Direktive Regelungen für die Verschrottung und das Recycling von Elektro-
