Introduction
Thank you for purchasing this Cat.5 USB Extender. This
product has been designed to provide trouble free, reliable
operation. It benefits from both a LINDY 2 year warranty and
free lifetime technical support. To ensure correct use, please
read this manual carefully and retain it for future reference.
This USB Extender can be used to extend the distance between
a USB device and a host computer by up to 50m. It consists of a
local unit with USB Type A connector (host computer side) and a
remote unit (device side) with built in USB Type A female
connector. A standard Cat. 5 network cable (UTP or STP) up to
50m length is used to connect the two units (not included!)
For certain USB Low Speed devices like USB mice it may be
possible to extend the distance even further to 100m. This will
depend very much on the device connected, as this extended
distance may not be guaranteed. In most cases USB 1.1 Full
Speed data transfer (12Mbps) will not work over extended
distances but is guaranteed to work up to 50m.

Please note:
•The maximum number of hubs in any USB connection from
host to device cannot be more than 5 including any USB hubs
or Active Extension cables or the equivalent hub rating of this
USB Extender. Therefore, when using a 50m UTP/STP cable
no extra hubs or extension cables can be used between
computer and device.
•When using a high current USB device such as a modem,
camera etc. with the USB Extender you must connect the
power supply supplied with the device.
•The USB Extender does notsupport the USB 50µA maximum
Suspend Mode current limit.

Caution: This unit does not fully meet all USB specifications and
as such does not register with the USB bus. It is capable of
extending the maximum distance of 5m imposed by USB by one
USB segment only. Please consider these limitations, otherwise
the USB bus may not function correctly. It should also be
connected to an exclusive USB port on your computer.

Dieser USB Extender erweitert Distanzen zwischen Computer
und USB Geräten auf bis zu 50m. Er besteht aus einer lokalen
Einheit (mit USB Typ A Stecker, Computerseite) und einer
Remote-Einheit mit USB Typ A Buchse. Zur Verbindung
werden Standard-Netzwerkkabel bis zu 50m Länge (Cat.5 oder
höher) verwendet (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten).
Für einige Low Speed USB Geräte wie Mäuse können bis zu
100m überbrückt werden, LINDY übernimmt jedoch keinerlei
Verantwortung für das Funktionieren bei Distanzen oberhalb
von 50m. USB 1.1 Full Speed Datentransfer mit 12 Mbit/s wird
oberhalb von 50m wahrscheinlich nicht funktionieren.

PC bis zum letzten Device 5 Stück nicht überschreiten.
Einschließlich anderer Hubs oder Aktivverlängerungen und
der Äquivalenz-Hub-Anzahl dieses Extenders. Bei Einsatz
eines 50m Verbindungskabels darf daher kein weiterer Hub
verwendet werden.
•USB High Current Devices wie USB-Modem etc. müssen
immer mit eigenem Netzteil verwendet werden.
•Dieser USB Extender unterstützt nicht das USB 50µa
Suspend-Mode Stromlimit.

Achtung: Dieser USB Extender erfüllt nicht alle USB

Segmentlänge von 5m überschreiten. Er registriert sich nicht im
USB Bus beim Host. Alle oben genannten Punkte müssen
durch den Nutzer beachtet werden. Bei Überschreitung der
Angaben kann das Funktionieren nicht garantiert werden. Bei
Verwendung eines 50m Verbindungskabels darf kein weiteres
Device zwischen Computer und Endgerät gesetzt werden.

L´USB Extender peut être utilisé pour étendre la distance entre
un ordinateur et un périphérique USB jusqu´a 50 mètres.
Cela consiste en une unité locale avec connecteur USB Type A
(côté ordinateur) et une unité distante (côté périphérique) avec
connecteur USB Type A femelle intégré. Un câble Cat.5 STP
standard est utilisé pour connecter les deux boitiers. Pour
certains périphériques USB bas débit, il es possible d´étendre
la longueur de connexion à 100m maximum. Ceci n´est tout de
même pas garanti.

Remarque Importante 1: Le nombre maximum de hubs pour
une connexion ne doit pas dépasser 5 hubs. Si vous utilisez
un câble de 50m UTP/STP, vous n´aurez pas besoin de
connecter de hubs supplémentaires.
Remarque Importante 2: Si vous utilisez un périphérique
consommant beaucoup de puissance, comme des modems
etc., vous devez obligatoirement utiliser l´alimentation fournie
avec ce périphérique.
Remarque Importante 3: Cette extension USB ne supporte
pas le mode suspend 50µa.

Attention:

Il Lindy USB Extender permette di utilizzare periferiche USB
fino a 50m di distanza dal computer. Questo sistema è
composto da un unità locale con un connettore USB tipo A
(lato del computer Host) ed un’unità remota con connettore
USB tipo A femmina. Per connettore questo due unità si
utilizza un cavo per reti locali standard Cat. 5 (UTP o STP)
lungo fino a 50m. Per alcune periferiche USB a bassa velocità
come i mouse è possibile raggiungere una distanza fino a
100m ma questa caratteristica on può essere garantita.

Raccomandazioni
1: Il numero massimo di Hub in una connessione USB dal PC
alla periferica non può essere superiore a 5 inclusi qualsiasi
Hub USB, prolunga attiva o il numero di Hub equivalenti di
questo USB Extender. Di conseguenza usando un cavo
UTP/STP da 50m non si potranno utilizzare altri Hub USB o
prolunghe attive fra il PC e la periferica.
2: Se utilizzato periferica USB ad alto assorbimento di
corrente (Modem, Drive Esterni, ecc.) con questo Extender
ricordatevi di collegare sempre l’alimentatore fornito in
dotazione.
3: Questo Extender non supporta il sistema di sospensione
automatica con limite a 50µa.
