Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the LINDY USB 2.0 Cat.5 Extender for 2 PCs. This extender is
composed of a transmitting unit with 3 USB ports and a receiving unit with 7 USB ports and
enables two USB host devices to send data up to 100 metres.

Features
• True plug and play, no driver installation required
• This USB 2.0 Cat.5 Extender can be shared by two PCs
• Local unit with 3 Port USB 2.0 hub, remote unit with 7 port USB 2.0 hub
• Extends USB 2.0 high-speed and USB 1.1 (low-speed, full-speed) devices up to 100m
over Cat 5e (or better) cable.

Installation
1. Place the local extender near the computer(s). Install the supplied USB cable between the
local extender and USB port on the host computer(s). USB Type B connectors are used
to connect the local extender unit to the host computer.
2. Connect the supplied 5VDC 2A power adapter to the local unit.
3. Place the remote extender near the USB device(s) in the desired remote location.
4. Connect the supplied 5VDC 3.5A power adapter to the remote unit.
5. Connect the local to the remote extender by using a Cat.5 (or better) cable (not
included!).
To switch between the two PCs, please push the button on the transmitter and wait about 5
seconds.
LED indications
• Power LED on transmitter: power supply is on; on receiver: lights only when PC is on
• Active: USB device is connected
• Link: transmitter and receiver are connected by Cat.5 (or higher) cable
• USB ports on transmitter/receiver: respective LED lights when device is connected
• PC1/PC2: shows which PC is active

Vielen Dank für den Kauf des LINDY USB 2.0 Cat.5 Extenders für 2 PCs. Dieser besteht aus
einer Sendeeinheit mit 3 USB Ports und einer Empfangseinheit mit 7 USB Ports. Er ermöglicht
es zwei USB Hosts Daten über eine Distanz von bis zu 100 Metern zu senden.

Installation
1. Schließen Sie die Sendeeinheit des Extenders mit dem/den beiliegenden USB Kabeln an
einem bzw. zwei Computer/n an (zum Verbinden der Sendeeinheit mit dem Host
Computer werden USB Typ B Stecker verwendet).
2. Schließen Sie das beiliegende 5VDC 2A Netzteil ebenfalls an der Sendeeinheit an..
3. Die Empfangseinheit des Extenders platzieren Sie in der gwünschten, bis zu 100m
entfernten Position.
4. Schließen Sie das beiliegende 5VDC 3.5A Netzteil am Empfänger an.
5. Verbinden Sie dann Sender und Empfänger über ein Cat.5 (oder höher) Kabel (nicht im
Lieferumfang enthalten!).
Zum Umschalten zwischen den 2 Computern drücken Sie bitte auf den Schalter auf der
Sendeeinheit und warten ca. 5 Sekunden.
LED Anzeigen
• Power LED beim Sender: das Netzteil ist eingeschaltet, beim Empfänger: leuchtet nur
wenn der PC eingeschaltet ist
• Active: ein USB Gerät ist verbunden
• Link: Sende- und Empfangseinheit sind über ein Cat.5 (oder höher)-Kabel verbunden
• USB Port: die entsprechende LED leuchtet wenn ein USB Gerät angeschlossen ist
• PC1/PC2: zeigt welcher PC aktiv ist

Installation
1. Placez l’unité locale de l’extender à proximité du(des) ordinateur(s). Installez le câble
USB fourni entre l’unité locale et le port USB sur l’(les) ordinateur(s) hôte(s). Des
connecteurs USB type B sont utilisés pour relier l’unité locale de l’extender à l’ordinateur
hôte.
2. Connectez l’alimentation 5VDC 2A fournie à l’unité locale (transmetteur).
3. Placez l’unité distante à proximité des périphériques USB et à une distance de jusqu’à
100 mètres.
4. Connectez l’alimentation 5VDC 3.5A fournie à l’unité distante (récepteur).
5. Reliez les unités locale et distante de l’extender à l’aide d’un câble (non inclus) Cat.5 (ou
plus haut).
Pour commuter entre les deux ordinateurs, veuillez appuyer sur le bouton sur le transmetteur et
attendez environ 5 secondes.
Indications des LED
• Power sur le transmetteur: indicateur d’alimentation; sur le récepteur : ne s’allume que
lorsque le PC est démarré
• Active: un périphérique USB est connecté
• Link: liaison établie entre transmetteur et récepteur par un câble Cat.5 (ou supérieur)
• USB ports sur transmetteur/récepteur: la LED correspondante est allumée si un
périphérique est connecté
• PC1/PC2: indique quel PC est actif

Installazione
1. Posizionate l’unità locale vicino al (o ai) Computer. Collegate con il cavo fornito in dotazione
la porta USB dell’unità locale con una porta USB del computer. Per la connessione dei
computer sono utilizzati comuni cavi USB Tipo A/B.
2. Collegato l’alimentatore da 5VDC 2A all’unità locale appena installata.
3. Posizionate l’unità remota vicino al luogo dove volete installare i dispositivi USB da
controllare.
4. Collegate l’alimentatore da 5VDC 3.5A all’unità remota.
5. Collegate le dune unità locale e remota utilizzando un cavo (non incluso!) Cat.5 (o
superiore).
Per spostare il controllo da un PC all’altro utilizzate il pulsante presente sull’unità locale e
attendere circa 5 secondi.
Indicatori LED
• LED Power sul trasmettitore: alimentazione attiva; sul ricevitore: si illumina solo a PC
acceso
• Active: dispositivo USB connesso
• Link: trasmettitore e ricevitore sono connessi correttamente con cavo Cat.5 o sup.
• Porte USB sul trasmettitore e ricevitore: I rispettivi LED si accendono quando un
dispositivo USB e connesso
• PC1/PC2: indica quale PC è attivo

WEEE (Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment),
Recycling of Electronic Products
United Kingdom
In 2006 the European Union introduced regulations (WEEE) for the collection and recycling of all waste
electrical and electronic equipment. It is no longer allowable to simply throw away electrical and
electronic equipment. Instead, these products must enter the recycling process.
Each individual EU member state has implemented the WEEE regulations into national law in slightly
different ways. Please follow your national law when you want to dispose of any electrical or electronic
products. More details can be obtained from your national WEEE recycling agency.
Germany / Deutschland
Die Europäische Union hat mit der WEEE Direktive umfassende Regelungen für die Verschrottung und
das Recycling von Elektro- und Elektronikprodukten geschaffen. Diese wurden von der Bundesregierung
im Elektro- und Elektronikgerätegesetz – ElektroG in deutsches Recht umgesetzt. Dieses Gesetz
verbietet vom 24.März 2006 an das Entsorgen von, auch alten, Elektro- und Elektronikgeräten über die
Hausmülltonne! Diese Geräte müssen den lokalen Sammelsystemen bzw. örtlichen Sammelstellen
zugeführt werden! Dort werden sie kostenlos entgegen genommen. Die Kosten für den weiteren
Recyclingprozess übernimmt die Gesamtheit der Gerätehersteller.

elettronico.
