English: Genral Remarks
The LINDY Mobile Rack series are reliable, high quality; metal cased versions, with keylock
power protection and built in front bezel-cooling fan.
- The front fan reliably cools modern high-speed disk drives
and improves airflow through the housing.
- The metal frame provides reliable EMC operation and
shielding, for the mobile rack and the complete computer
system.
- The keylock prevents unauthorised removal, and also
switches the electrical power to the hard disk off to prevent
electrical damage when removed. To remove the inner housing
first turn the key to the horizontal position, then pull up the
handle and withdraw the inner housing..

Diese LINDY Wechselrahmen sind hochwertige zuverlässige
Metallrahmen mit Schloss sowie Ventilator in der Frontblende.
- Der Frontventilator kühlt moderne hochtourige Festplatten
zuverlässiger als ein Ventilator an der Rückseite.
- Der Metallrahmen sorgt für gute EMV Eigenschaften des
Wechselrahmens sowie des Gesamtsystems.
- Das Schloss verhindert die unberechtigte Entnahme der
Festplatte und ist zugleich ein elektrischer Schlüsselschalter
zum Schutz der Elektronik bei Herausnahme der Festplatte. Um
den Innenrahmen herauszunehmen, bringen Sie den
Schlüsselschalter in waagerechte Position, klappen Sie den
Hebel hoch und ziehen Sie dann den Innenrahmen heraus.

Installation of the HDD / Einbau der Festplatte
English: Installation
Remove the inner housing from the mobile rack. Carefully
remove the top cover, connect the LED Access cable, the data
cable and the power cable to your hard disk. For the SCA
model 20958 the connections for power, data and ID settings
are guided together through the SCA 80 pin connector. For the
SCSI models set the ID switch in the back of the frame to the
desired position and connect the ID cables to the hard disk.
Refer to the colour code list in the picture below and also to
your HDD manual. Generally the black connector has to be
connected to ground and the colored ones refer to the bit
setting (brown=bit1, red=bit2, yellow=bit3, grey =bit4). Now attach your hard disk using the
screws supplied to the side of the inner frame and reinstall the top cover. Mount the outer
frame to your system and connect the data and power cables. Reinstall the inner housing,
your system is now ready for operation.

Nehmen Sie den Innenrahmen aus dem Wechselrahmen
heraus. Nehmen Sie den oberen Gehäusedeckel ab. Verbinden
Sie das LED-Access-Kabel, das Datenkabel und das
Stromkabel mit der Festplatte.
Beim SCA Modell 20958 sind der Daten-, Strom- und ID-
Anschluss im 80poligen SCA Stecker zusammengefasst.
Für die SCSI Modelle: Stellen Sie den SCSI ID Schalter auf die
benötigte SCSI ID ein und verbinden Sie die ID Kabel mit der
Festplatte. Nehmen Sie dazu das Handbuch Ihrer Festplatte
sowie die in untenstehendem Bild gezeigte Zuordnungstabelle zu Hilfe. Generell wird der
schwarze Anschluss mit Masse verbunden, die farbigen Anschlüsse setzen die Bits der ID
wie folgt: Braun=Bit1, Rot=Bit2, Gelb=Bit3, Grau=Bit4.
Schrauben Sie anschließend die Festplatte in die seitlichen Befestigungsschlitze des
Innenrahmens und
setzen Sie den oberen
Gehäusedeckel wieder
auf.
Befestigen Sie den
Außenrahmen in Ihrem
System und schließen
Sie das Datenkabel und
die Stromversorgung
an. Nachdem Sie den
Innenrahmen
eingeschoben haben ist
Ihr System
einsatzbereit.

FRANÇAIS: Remarques Générales
Les modèles de racks LINDY de cette série sont de haute qualité avec un boîtier en métal
avec protection par serrure et ventilateur intégré.
Le ventilateur frontal permet de refroidir les disques durs les plus récents de meilleure façon
qu’un ventilateur à l’arrière.
Le boîtier métal founit une protection EMC pendant l’activité et
un blindage pour le rack amovible et ceci pour l’ensemble du
système.
La serrure assure une protection contre un enlèvement non
autorisé du rack amovible et coupe également l’alimentation du
disque dur pour prévenir des dégats électriques lors du retrait.
Pour retirer le rack amovible, il suffit de tourner la clé en
position horizontale puis baissser le levier et retirer le boîtier.

I LINDY Mobili Rack di questa serie sono di elevata qualità
realizzati in metallo con protezione tramite serratura con chiave
e frontalino con ventilatore.
La ventola nel frontalino è in grado di raffreddare dischi di
nuova generazione ad alte velocità, migliore di una posta sul
retro.
Il frame di metallo fornisce affidabili prestazioni e schermatura
EMC, sia per il rack mobile che per l’intero sistema.
La serratura a chiave protegge dall’utilizzo non autorizzato e blocca la il flusso di corrente al
disco fisso, se estratta.
Posizionare la chiave in orizzontale prima di togliere l’astuccio, quindi alzare la maniglia ed
estrarlo dal frame.

Retirez le tiroir de la partie fixe. Retirez ensuite la partie
supérieure du boîtier. Connectez le câble de la LED de signal,
le câble de données et d’alimentation à votre disque dur.
Pour le modèle SCA 20958, les connexions pour l’alimentation,
les données et les IDs sont comprises dans le connecteur SCA
80 broches.
Pour les modèles SCSI, réglez le switch ID à l’arrière du tiroir
sur la position désirée et connectez le câble ID au disque dur.
Référez vous au code couleur indiqué sur l’image ci-dessous et
à votre manuel de disque dur. En général, le connecteur noir
doit être connecté à la masse et ceux de couleur se réfèrent aux réglages des bits
(marron=bit1, rouge=bit2, jaune=bit3, gris =bit4).
Ensuite vissez votre disque dur aux emplacements prévus à cet effet dans le tiroir et replacez
le couvercle du tiroir. Montez le tiroir dans la partir fixe puis connectez l’ensemble à
votre contrôleur de disques et l’alimentation.

Estrarre l’astuccio dal rack mobile. Quindi aprire il coperchio.
Collegare i cavi della connessione ai LED, il cavo dati e il cavo
alimentazione al disco fisso.
Per il modello SCA 20958 le connessioni dell’alimentazione,
dei dati e del settaggio ID sono in base alla istruzioni allegate
al connettore SCA 80.
Per i modelli SCASI il settaggio degli ID Switch è posto sul retro del frame e la connessione
avviene tramite un cavo ID al disco fisso. Fare riferimento allo schema qui raffigurato ed al
manuale del disco fisso. Solitamente il connettore nero viene collegato alla messa a terra e
quelli colorati fanno riferimento al settaggio dei segnali bit (marrone=bit1, rosso=bit2,
giallo=bit3, grigio=bit4). Dopo aver fissato il
disco fisso con le viti
all’interno dell’astuccio,
richiudere il coperchio.
Montare il frame
esterno, al sistema e
collegareil cavo dati ed
i cavi alimentazione.
Quando l’astuccio è
inserito nel sistema, è
pronto pronto ad
operare.
