Linksys PCMPC200 - EtherFast 10/100 CardBus PC Card Original operating instructions

This sheet will guide you through the basic steps needed to install
this Linksys product on your computer. If you have any problems
during installation, visit our support page at www.linksys.com.
INSTALLING THE HARDWARE:
1. Locate your PCs card slot (usually located on the
side). Slide the EtherFast 10/100 CardBus PC Card
into the slot with the triangle facing up. Ensure that
the card is inserted firmly in place.
2. Attach one end of a Category 5 network cable into
the RJ-45 port on the media coupler. Plug the other
end of the cable into a Fast Ethernet or 10BaseT
hub.
3. Power up the PC. The network driver will install auto-
matically.
INSTALLING THE NETWORK DRIVER
1. Start your computer and boot up Windows XP.
2. When the Found New Hardware Wizard box appears,
insert the EtherFast 10/100 CardBus PC Card
Drivers diskette into your floppy drive. Click the
Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)
radio button. Click Next.
3. The Please Choose Your Search and Installation
Options dialog box will appear. Click the Search for
the best driver in these locations radio button.
Uncheck the Search removable media (floppy, CD-
ROM...) box. In the Include this location in the search:
field, type A:\. Click Next.
4. When the wizard completes its task, the following
Hardware Installation box will appear. Click Continue
Anyway.
5. The Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard dia-
log box will appear.
The following adapter name will be shown:
Linksys EtherFast 10/100 CardBus PC Card Ver
II(PCMPC200 vII)
Click Finish.
7. Remove Drivers diskette from your floppy drive and
restart your PC.
Installation is complete.

For Windows XP
NNoottee::Do not click CCaanncceellor SSkkiippat any time during
the installation process. Doing so will prevent your
driver from being properly installed on your PC.
Note: Windows XP should automatically detect the
adapter and install the correct drivers. Perform the fol-
lowing procedure only if Windows XP fails to do this.
