ADJUSTING THE CONTACTOR
After all t e connections are made and t e transformer is turned on, t e contactor must be adjusted so t at t e signal operates
properly. Stop t e train several sections away from t e contactor so t at it does not press on t e contactor plate. Turn t e adjust-
ment nut eit er up or down until t e lig ts go on. T en back up t e adjustment nut just enoug to cause t e lig ts to go out. W en
properly adjusted, t e contactor will respond to a lig t finger pressure on t e track and t e lig ts will stay on as long as any part of
t e train is passing over t e contactor plate.
LAMP REPLACEMENT
After a number of ours of opera-
tion t e Banjo Signal stop sign
may begin to function more slow-
ly. To remedy t is problem,
remove t e motor cup located
be ind t e stop sign and apply a
lig t dusting of powdered
grap ite (available at your local
ardware or obby store) inside
t e cup. (See Figure 4). Carefully
reassemble, making sure t e
small pin located on t e motor
cup fits into t e slot on t e stop
sign arm.

recommend t at it be insured.

To replace t e lamp on t e Banjo Signal, remove t e screw from t e
rear of t e signal and pull off t e sign. Carefully pull t e bulb and sock-
et assembly out. (See Figure 3). Pull t e bulb straig t out of t e bulb
older and replace it wit a red lamp No. 600-8352-600 available at
your nearest Aut orized Lionel Service Station or t e Lionel Consumer
Services Department. Gently pus t e bulb and older back into t e
cylindrical older on t e Banjo Signal until it is firmly eld in place. Now
fit t e tab on back of t e sign into t e corresponding ole inside t e
Banjo Signal and reinsert t e screw into t e ole.
