GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING
THE APPLIANCE AND SAVE IT FOR ANY FURTHER NEED.
Incorrect operation or usage is likely to cause damage to t e
appliance and injure t e user. Make sure t at you follow all safety
instructions. Only use t is appliance for t e purpose for w ic it as
been designed; we decline all responsibility in t e event of damage
due to incorrect use or bad andling.

t e appliance.

8. If t e supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by t e
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in
order to avoid a azard (*)
9. Do not pass t e cord over objects wit s arp edges and keep
it at a distance from ot objects and bare flames. Always pull
on t e plug to disconnect it from t e feed source.
10. For extra protection it is possible to equip your ome electrical
system wit a residual current circuit breaker wit voltage
break at 30 mA max. Ask your electrician for advice.
11. Make sure t at t e cord or t e extension cable is not at risk of
being pulled inadvertently nor of being topped over by anyone
at t e time of use.
12. W en you use an extension cable make sure t at it is adapted
to t e appliance essential consumption. Contrary to t is, t e
extension cable and/ or t e plug risks over eating.
13. Only use t e appliance for domestic purposes and in t e way
indicated in t e instructions.
14. Never immerse t e base of your appliance in water or any
ot er liquid for any reason w atsoever. Never place it into
t e dis was er.
15. In case t e appliance accidentally falls into water disconnect it
immediately. Have it c ecked by an expert before re-using, if
you do not do t is you run t e risk of electrocution.

17. Do not use t e appliance if your ands are damp if t e oil is
wet, or if t e appliance itself is damp.
18. Do not touc t e plug if your ands are damp or wet.
19. Never use t e appliance near ot surfaces.
20. Never use accessories t at are not recommended by t e
producer. T ey could constitute a danger to t e user and risk
to damage t e appliance.
21. Never move t e appliance by pulling t e cord. Make sure t e
cord cannot get caug t in any way. Do not wind t e cord
around t e appliance and do not bend it.
22. Place t e device on a flat, stable, eat-resistant surface

32. Always fill t e grill pan wit water before you switc on t e
appliance. T e water elps to cool down t e grill pan,
reduces t e build-up of smoke and also facilitates cleaning.
33. Ensure t at t e water level is kept between t e ‘Min.’ and
‘Max.’ markings at all times during use.

Caution: do not, under any circumstances, cover t e grill rack wit aluminous foil, barbecue dis es or
ot er items, as t e resulting build-up of eat could cause irreparable damage to t e grill.
●
W en grilling food wit a ig fat or moisture content, splas es are not always avoidable.
●
Remember t at t e food wit a ig fat or moisture content may tend to ignite or to splas .
●
Always ensure t at t e water level is kept above t e ‘Min.’ mark so add water during t e eating to
keep rig t level and ensure t at it does not come into contact wit t e eating element.
●
Before t e grill is used, always c eck t at t e eating element is correctly fitted in t e grill pan and
safely locked.
●
Do not connect t e grill to mains power until t e grill pan as been filled wit water. T e tray salvage
dealer of fat must be immersed and take care of not pour water on t e eating element.
●
Use only t e supplied tray salvage dealer of fat.
●
Ensure t at t e grill is not stored outdoors. Or in any ot er location w ere it mig t be subjected to
extremes of temperature or ig umidity.
●

BEFORE FIRST TIME USE
W en used for t e first time, turn t e t ermostat to MAX position and pre eat t e product for approximately 15
minutes. Some smoke or odor will be emitted. T is is normal. It does not constitute a azard and will gradually
decrease over time. Please make sure t ere is sufficient ventilation in t e room.

BUILT-IN SAFETY INTERLOCK
1. T is feature ensures t at you can only switc on t e product if you ave correctly assembled.
OPERATION
2. Place t e base on a eat resistance surface and insert t e reflector water tray into t e base.
3. Fit t e temperature control box to t e grill plate. Make sure t ey are correctly aligned wit safety interlock
actuated.
4. Pour water into t e reflector water tray up to t e MAX mark.
Note: Always grill food w en t e reflector water tray is filled wit water. S ould t e water dry up after continuous
use, unplug t e power plug from t e power outlet and pour water up to t e MAX mark is reac ed. Do not pour any
cold water over t e ot eating element to avoid damage;
5. Place t e grill rack on t e product. You can c oose between 2 eig t levels.
6. Connect t e power plug to a suitable power outlet and turn on t e t ermostat. Turn t e temperature
control to t e desired position.
7. T e eating-up lig t goes on. Let t e product pre eat for approx. 5 minutes.
Note: Please make sure t at frozen food is fully defrosted before grilling.
8. Put t e foodstuffs onto t e grill rack w en t e eating-up lig t goes out.
9. Turn t e food from time to time wit a spatula.
10. Unplug after use. Let t e product cool down completely.
Warning: Put t e foodstuffs directly on t e grill rack. Never use plate or aluminum foil to wrap t e food. Make sure
t at no water and oil enter t e product interior (for example, t roug t e temperature control).
Note: During t e grilling process, t e eating-up lig t comes on and goes out from time to time.
T is indicates t at t e eating element is switc ed on and off to maintain t e correct temperature.

CLEANING AND CARE
• Warning! Risk of electric s ock! Unplug t e product and let it cool down completely before cleaning. Never
immerse electrical parts of t e product in water during cleaning or operation. Never old t e product under
running water.
• Warning! W en cleaning, never use solvents or abrasive materials, ard brus es, metallic or s arp objects.
Solvents are armful to uman ealt and can attack plastic parts, w ile abrasive cleaning products and tools may
scratc t e surface(s).
• Disassemble t e product in reverse order of t e assembly steps of 2 to 6 in OPERATION.
• Remove all removable parts of t e product and clean t em after eac use. Cleaning is difficult once t e food
residue dries.
• Clean t e t ermostat’s surface wit a slig tly damp clot and t en dry t em t oroug ly.
• Wipe t e eating element wit paper towels or a soft damp clot . If t ere are difficult to remove food residues,
pour a little bit of edible oil on t e eating element and remove t e residues after 5 minutes of exposure time.
• Clean t e product’s exterior surfaces wit a slig tly damp clot and t en dry t em t oroug ly.
• Make sure t at no water enters t e product interior (for example, t roug t e switc ).
• Keep t e product in a dry, cool location w ic is protected against moisture and direct sunlig t. Keep t is product
out of t e reac of c ildren.

Correct disposal of the unit
