Thank you for purchasing the AccuReader
wafer reading system by LockTech. This system will
allow you to read the new Harley Davidson keyway,
using the HYD19 key blank. The HYD19 AccuReader
will read these locks completely and accurately
without the removal of the ignition or other lock.
Following a few simple steps it takes only minutes to
read the depths for each cut in each position for a
complete key.
The AccuReader works on the process of
elimination to decipher the correct depths of the lock.
By checking the deepest cut first you eliminate what
the cuts are not. Therefore it is essential to always
read the deepest possible depth first, in this case the
#3 slide.
The AccuReader key is used for all wafer
positions 1-8 for a complete key.

Using the HYD19 AccuReader
Use the following directions to read all 8 wafer
positions from the ignition. After reading all 8
positions from the ignition, it is sometimes helpful on
dirty locks to read positions from the gas cap to
compare your findings from the ignition.
USING THE ACCU-READER
1) Always thoroughly clean the lock with an
electronics safe cleaner to free any potentially stuck
wafers.
2) Use the alignment holes through the AccuReader
key to assist in judging the distance from one wafer
position to the next.
3) Place the insertion/release slide in the slot on the
AccuReader key. Fully insert the AccuReader key
into the keyway and remove the slide. The
AccuReader key is now ready to read the space #8
position. (Note: If the AccuReader fails to trap a
wafer flip the AccuReader over and reinsert).
4) Always start reading with the #3 depth slide tool,
then proceed to #2 (ONLY if necessary). Fully insert
the depth slide into the AccuReader key. The
alignment mark on the depth slide will line up with the
(Y) Yes mark or it will line up with the (N) No mark.
a) If the #3 depth slide lines up with the Y then the
depth for the #8 wafer is a 3. If the depth slide lines
up with an N, then you must proceed to the #2 depth
slide.
b) If the #2 depth slide lines up with the Y then the
depth for the #8 wafer is a 2. If the depth slide lines
up with an N, then the depth for wafer #8 is a 1
c) Repeat steps a) through c) for each wafer position
until you have recorded the depths for wafer positions
8-1.
d) You now have recorded all the positions to make a
complete key.
