SECTION ⅠPURPOSE
The operation and maintenance instruction is used to guide users how to operate and maintain
LNK-LR-03A liferaft light properly.
SECTION ⅡDESCRIPTION
2.1 Introduction
LNK-LR-03A liferaft light is lithium battery-powered emergency light to be installed with liferaft.
When the liferaft is inflated the “O”shape ring of the light (①of Figure2-1) will be pull out,
then the switch clip (②of Figure2-1) will open and both of external and internal lights will be
automatically activated. The external light installed on the top of liferaft canopy will output a
flashing light signal with over 4.3cd light intensity to uninterruptedly indicate the position of
liferaft. The internal light inside built on the light`s main body will output 0.5cd steady light for
reading instructions and basic illuminating. Both of external and internal light can be separately
turn on or turn off by the manual switches on the light`s main body.
The light has especially excellent performance at low temperature, which the external light can
work at least 15hours over 4.3cd light intensity even at -30℃!
2.2 Product Structure
2.2.1 LNK-LR-03A liferaft light consists of: 1,Main light body with internal light; 2,The
external light with wire; 3, Installation buckle .The structure is shown as below

2.4Marking
2.4.1 Standard product label markings of LNK-LR-03A liferaft light is shown as below picture.

2.4.1.1 Marking Label will be fixed at the bottom of light`s main body.
2.4.1.2 Marking label contains:
①Basic information : Product name, Manufacturer`s company website, Product Code
number, Fulfilled SOLAS and USCG standards, Manufacturer, safety CAUTION
②Wheel Mark , Notified body number 0474 , and "YYYY" at figure 2-2 ②represents
mark affixed year.
2.4.2 MFG batch number and EXP. Date show the latest status of light and manufacturing
batch.
2.4.2.1 MFG batch number and EXP. Date will be spurt by the side of the lights` main
body;
2.4.2.2 They will be shown as MM/YYYY, "MM" represents the month of
manufacturing /expired date , "YYYY" represents the year of manufacturing/expired
date.
SECTION ⅢINSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
3.1 Installation Limitation
LNK-LR-03A liferaft light fits for all types of life rafts.
3.2 Installation Requirement
LNK-LR-03A liferaft light is installed together with life raft, When the liferaft inflated, the light
will be automatically activated and provide indicating light signal for liferaft, and basic illuminating
need such as reading instructions for the survivors. The users must install the light on liferaft by
follow steps:
3.2.1 Disconnect the wire connector to separate the external light light from Main light body as
below Figure3-1;

3.2.2 Unscrew the Fixing-ring from the external light, Make it go through the fabric on the apex
of the liferaft canopy(designated place for external light). And screw the fixing-ring tight
and firmly to fix the external light as below Figure3-2;

Remark: There is a rubber sealing ring at inner circle of fixing-ring (in Figure3-2) for
external light. Its function is to ensure the external light waterproofed. Users should make
sure it was not missing and been placed well during the installation.
3.2.3 After external light well fixed, to ensure the liferaft have reliable waterproof performance,
a waterproof measure should be make on the external light mounting spot. Get one round
shape rubber cloth with Diameter≥105mm，coating glue on the whole polish side of rubber
cloth, then glue it at inside of the liferaft canopy. Cover whole external light bottom up as Figure
3-2-1 shows：

3.2.4 The main light body with internal light should be installed by buckle on the proper position
inside liferaft. So the internal light can provide illuminating for the survivors to read the
instructions. And it should be easily to be reached so the survivors can operate the
manual switches on the main light body if needed. The installation steps will show as
below Figure3-3.

3.2.5 The “O” shape ring should be tied tightly with a suitable part of liferaft by cord and make
sure the “O” shape ring must be pulled out automatically when the liferaft is inflated.
Once the ring have been pulled out, The switch clip will automatically open and both
internal and external lights will activated.

3.2.6 After external light and main light body securely mounted, connect the external light and
to main light body by re-connect the wire connector as Figure3-5. Then the whole
installation is completed, the complete view of inflated liferaft with activated light shown
as Figure3-6.

SECTION ⅣSTORAGE REQUIREMENTS
4.1 Storage Environment Requirements
LNK-LR-03A liferaft light should be stored in a clean, non-pollution and liquid free environment.
4.2 Storage Temperature and Humidity Requirements
Storage temperature should be within -30℃～+65℃(-22°F～+149°F)and the environment
humidity should be less than 80%.
SECTION ⅤSERVICE LIFE &SAFETY
5.1 The service life of LNK-LR-03A liferaft light is five years from the date of manufacture.
During the service time the storage and application conditions should meet the Section Ⅳ
storage requirements.
5.2 Once the lights was been activated ,the external light can keep working for more than
4.3cd light intensity during at least 15 hours at -30℃. After the battery runs out, the light
should be removed from the installation position and replaced by a new one.
5.3 LNK-LR-03A liferaft light contains Lithium battery. These processes must be handled
correctly:
5.3.1 Do not dismantle battery pack;
5.3.2 Do not make any external electrical connection;
5.3.3 Do not recharge;
5.3.4 Do not incinerate;
5.3.5 Store between -30℃～+65℃.
SECTION ⅥINSPECTION
6.1 Inspection Time
LNK-LR-03A liferaft lights only need to be inspected before installation or regularly inspected
together with liferafts at each service life.
6.2 Inspection Methods
6.2.1 Inspect the external light and main light body for signs of damage or corrosion. Damaged
or corrupt lights should be consider as defected and should be replaced.
6.2.2 Check the expiry date shown on the spurt marks by the side of the lights` main body.
If the date is more than 5 years from the date of manufacture, liferaft light must be removed
and replaced a new light.
6.2.3 Test the light by pull out the “O” shape ring, once it was pulled out, the switch clip will
be open(as Figure3-4) and both the external light and the internal light will automatically

activated. And both lights should be turned on or off by press two of the manual switches on
main body separately. If the lights function well, then just reset the “O” shape ring and the
switch clip.
6.2.4 During the storage period, the “O” shape ring must keep in its correct position and switch
clip remains closed all the time.
SECTION ⅦMAINTENANCE
LNK-LR-03A liferaft light is maintenance free, but During the storage period, the light`s “O” ring
in its correct position and switch clip remains closed all the time.
SECTION ⅧREPAIR AND DISPOSAL INSTRUCTIONS
8.1 Repair Instructions
LNK-LR-03A liferaft light cannot be repaired. Just dispose the used and expired lights or other
defective lights, and replace with new one.
8.2 Disposal Instructions
Dispose of used and expired lights in accordance with local regulation. This process should be
done through an approved environment disposal agent.
SECTION ⅨPACKAGING INFORMATION
9.1 The lights will be packed by plastic bags and Master carton .
9.2 Each unit contains one external light, one main light body and one buckle will be packed in
the plastic bag and insert in unit box as below figure 9-1.

9.3 One Master carton contains 50units liferaft lights. The size of master carton is 415*300*235
mm and Gross weight is about 8.4kg/carton。
