Introduction
The device is a powerful, high-performance Fast Ethernet switch,
with all 16 ports capable of 10 or 100Mbps auto-negotiation
operation (NWay), which means the switch could automatically
negotiate with the connected partners on the network speed and
duplex mode. It is ideal for micro-segmenting large networks into
smaller, connected subnets for improved performance, enabling the
bandwidth demanding multimedia and imaging applications.
Moreover, the 10/100Mbps auto-sensing ability provides an easy
way to migrate 10Mbps to 100Mbps network with no pain.
Compared to the shared 10Mbps or 100Mbps networks, the switch
delivers a dedicated 10/100Mbps connection to every attached
client with no bandwidth congestion issue. This switch also supports
auto MDI / MDI-X function. Each port could be used to connect to
another switch or hub with no crossover RJ-45 cable.
Store-and-forward switching mode promises the low latency plus
eliminates all the network errors, including runt and CRC error
packets. To work under full-duplex mode, transmission and
reception of the frames can occur simultaneously without causing
collisions as well as double the network bandwidth.
The switch is plug-n-play without any software to configure and also
fully compliant with all kinds of network protocols. Moreover, the rich
diagnostic LEDs on the front-panel can provide the operating status
of individual port and whole system.

Station Connection
Connect each station to the switch by twisted-pair cable. Plug one
RJ-45 connector into a RJ-45 port of the switch, and plug the other
RJ-45 connector into the station’s network adapter. Power on the
switch and then system is ready.
For cable selection, refer to the following table.
Switches Connection
In making a switch interconnection, you could use any port to
connect another switch with straight or crossover cable. As all the
ports support auto MDI / MDI-X function, using a straight cable to
make a switch-to-switch connection is allowed.

Rack-Mount Installation
The switch may standalone, or may be mounted in a standard
19-inch equipment rack. Rack mounting produces an orderly
installation when you have a number of related network devices.
The switch is supplied with two optional rack mounting brackets and
screws. These are used for rack mounting the unit.

Introduction
Cet appareil est un interrupteur Fast Ethernet puissant et hautement
performant, avec une capacité d’opérations d’auto négociation
(Nway) pour ses 16 ports, de 10 ou 100Mbps, ce qui signifie que
l’interrupteur est capable de négocier automatiquement avec les
partenaires connectés sur la vitesse du réseau et sur le mode
bidirectionnel. Il est idéal pour micro-segmenter de vastes réseaux
en des sous-réseaux plus petits et connectés entre eux, afin d’en
augmenter les performances, ce qui permet les opérations de
bande large multimédia et image. De plus, la capacité
d’auto-reconnaissance directe 10/100Mbps permet de passer
facilement d’un réseau de 10Mbps à 100Mbps. Comparé aux
réseaux partagés 10Mbps ou 100Mbps, l’interrupteur fournit une
connexion 10/100Mbps à chaque client rattaché tout en évitant des
problèmes de saturation de la bande. Cet interrupteur possède
également une fonction auto MDI / MDI-X. Chaque port peut être
utilisé pour être connecté à un autre interrupteur ou plate-forme
sans câble de croisement RJ-45.
Le mode d’interrupteur enregistrement et transmission permet un
faible temps d’attente et élimine toutes les erreurs de réseau, y
compris les groupes d’erreurs runt et CRC. Pour travailler en mode
bidirectionnel simultané, la transmission et la réception des
éléments peut être effectuée de façon simultanée sans provoquer
de collisions ainsi que de doubler la largeur de bande du réseau.
L’interrupteur est très facile à utiliser, sans aucun logiciel à
configurer ; il est aussi pleinement compatible avec toutes sortes de
protocoles de réseau. De plus, les DELs performants situés sur la
face avant fournissent des informations sur l’état du port individuel
et sur la globalité du système.

Connexion des stations
Reliez chaque station à l’interrupteur à l’aide du câble double
torsadé. Branchez un connecteur RJ-45 à un port RJ-45 de
l’interrupteur, et branchez l’autre connecteur RJ-45 dans
l’adaptateur de réseau de station. Allumez l’interrupteur, et le
système est prêt.
Pour choisir le câble, consulter le tableau suivant.
Connexion de switches
Pour réaliser une interconnexion d’interrupteur, vous pouvez utiliser
n’importe quel port pour brancher un autre interrupteur au moyen
d’un câble direct ou de croisement. Comme tous les ports
supportent une fonction auto MDI / MDI-X, il est possible d’utiliser
un câble direct pour réaliser une connexion d’interrupteur à
interrupteur.

Système de montage sur socle
L’interrupteur peut fonctionner de façon autonome, ou peut être
monté dans un système standard 19 pouces. Le montage sur socle
permet un rangement méthodique de votre installation si vous
posséder plusieurs autres appareils périphériques. L’interrupteur est
fourni avec deux socles de montage en option et des vis. Ces
éléments vous permettent de monter l’unité sur socle.

Einleitung
Dieses Gerät ist ein hochleistungsfähiger Fast Ethernet Switch, dessen
16 Ports alle die 10 oder 100Mbps Auto-Negotiation Funktion (NWay)
unterstützen. Dies bedeutet, dass der Switch automatisch mit den
angeschlossen Partnern über die Netzwerkdatenrate und den
Duplexmodus verhandeln kann. Er ist nahezu ideal um größere
Netzwerke auf kleinere, verbundene Subnetzwerke zu verteilen, um so
die Leistung zu verbessern und die Bandbreite, die für Multimedia und
Image-Applikationen erforderlich ist, zu ermöglichen. Außerdem bietet
die 10/100Mbps Auto-Sensing Fähigkeit einen einfachen Weg, um ohne
Mühe 10Mbps auf 100Mbps Netzwerke umzustellen. Im Vergleich zu
den gemeinsamen 10Mbps oder 100Mbps Netzwerken liefert der
Switch eine separate 10/100Mbps Verbindung zu jedem
angeschlossenen Client, ohne dass es zu Stauungen bei der
Bandbreite kommt. Darüber hinaus unterstützt der Switch die
automatischeMDI / MDI-X Funktion. Jeder Port kann benutzt werden,
um mit einem anderen Switch oder Hub verbunden zu werden ohne
Crossover RJ-45 Kabel.
Der Store & Forward Switching Modus verspricht niedrige Latenzzeiten
und eliminiert alle Netzwerkfehler, inklusive kleiner Fehler und CRC
Fehlerpaketen. Um in dem Full-Duplex Modus arbeiten zu können, ist
der gleichzeitige Empfang und das Versenden von Frames möglich,
ohne dass dabei Kollisionen entstehen sowie die Verdopplung der
Netzwerk Bandbreite.
Der Switch ist komplett Plug & Play fähig und es wird keine Software für
die Konfiguration benötigt. Außerdem werden alle möglichen
Netzwerkprotokolle unterstützt. Darüber hinaus informieren die
Anzeige-LEDs auf der Frontseite über den Funktionsstatus der
einzelnen Ports und des gesamten Systems.

Stationsverbindungen
Verbinden Sie jede Station durch ein twisted-pair Kabel mit dem
Switch. Stecken Sie eine RJ-45 Verbindung in einen RJ-45 Port des
Switchs, und stecken Sie die andere RJ-45 Verbindung in den
Netzwerk Adapter der Station. Schalten Sie den Switch an. Das
System ist nun bereit.
Für die Kabelwahl beachten Sie bitte die folgende Tabelle.
Switchverbindungen
Wenn Sie eine Verbindung zwischen Switches machen, können Sie
jeden Port benutzen, um einen anderen Switch mit einem normalen
oder einem Crossover Kabel zu verbinden. Da alle Ports die
automatische MDI / MDI-X Funktion, ist sowohl die Benutzung eines
normalen Kabels als auch die Benutzung eines Crossover Kabels
erlaubt, um eine Verbindung von Switch zu Switch herzustellen.

Montage in einem 19”-Gehäuse
Das 13-Zoll Modell kann optional in einem 19-Zoll Gehäuse
eingebaut werden.
Der Switch muss nicht, kann aber in einem standard 19-Zoll
Geräteschrank eingebaut werden. Für diese Art von Montage muss
bei mehreren zusammengehörigen Netzwerkgeräten darauf
geachtet werden, dass die Installation ordentlich durchgeführt wird.
Der Switch wird geliefert mit zwei optionale Befestigungsklammern
und Schrauben. Diese werden benötigt um den Switch in das
Gehäuse einzubauen.

Introduzione
Questo dispositivo è uno switch Fast Ethernet potente e ad alte
prestazioni, con tutte e 16 le porte in grado effettuare operazioni di
autonegoziazione a 10 o 100Mbps (NWay), il che significa che lo
switch può negoziare automaticamente la velocità e la modalità duplex
con gli elementi collegati. È ideale per la microsegmentazione di
grandi reti in piccole subreti collegate fra loro, aumentandone le
prestazioni e rendendo possibile l’uso di applicativi multimediali e di
grafica che richiedono molta larghezza di banda. Inoltre, la capacità di
rilevare automaticamente se la velocità è di 10 o 100Mbps, facilita la
migrazione dalle reti a 10Mbps a quelle a 100Mbps. Paragonato alle
reti condivise a 10Mbps o 100Mbps, lo switch fornisce una
connessione dedicata a 10/100Mbps ad ogni cliente collegato senza

Connessione delle postazioni
Collegare ogni postazione allo switch usando un doppino intrecciato.
Inserire un connettore RJ-45 in una delle porte RJ-45 dello switch e
l’altro connettore RJ-45 nell’adattatore di rete della postazione.
Accendere lo switch e il sistema è già pronto.
Per la scelta del cavo, consultare la seguente tabella.
Connessione degli switch
Per fare un collegamento tra switch si può usare una porta qualsiasi
usando un cavo diretto o cross-over. Dato che tutte le porte
supportano la funzionalità di MDI / MDI-X automatico, l'uso di un
cavo diretto per collegare due switch è consentito.

Los switch può essere a sé stante, oppure può essere montato in
un rack standard da 19 pollici. Qualora si abbia una serie di
dispositivi di rete da installare, seguire la procedura di installazione
in rack. Lo switch è dotato di due squadrette opzionali di montaggio
e viti. Tali utensili servono per l’installazione in rack dell’unità.
