IMPORTANT – FOR SWIM SPAS ONLY
Installing the SpaEase 200 on Swim Spas that include multiple
covers is no different than a traditional hot tub with a few small
changes. In Step 4 (“Positioning Cover on Spa”) include all
covers of the Swim Spa in their presumed final position. Make
certain that all covers are pushed firmly together. Select either
side to install the first lifter. When first is complete, put it in the
down position and reposition the second cover, again firmly
against the first cover, and then install second cover.
NOTE: The SpaEase 200
can be easily converted
to a VacuSeal Cover &
Lifter System with the
purchase of a VacuSeal
Conversion Kit (VCK)
and a VacuSeal Cover.

A – SPAS NOT SUITABLE FOR INSTALLATION
1. Round spas or those with a corner radius of 15” or larger.
To determine the radius see Figure 1.
2. Spas flush mounted into the ground or deck are not suitable.
A minimum 4” clearance is required for installation of the
mounting bracket on the cabinet wall just below the coping
of the spa shell (See Fig 4).
SPAS WITH A RADIUS ABOVE 10”
If your spa has a radius corner of 11” to 14” you should use the
Extended Bracket Kit (EBK) which supports large radius spas. This
Extended Bracket Kit includes 2 brackets that add support to the
primary Mounting Brackets. The Extended Bracket Kit comes in an
independent package separate from the SpaEase 200 Lifter and
includes a separate and simple installation addendum.
B – CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
1. The SpaEase 200 requires a 7” clearance at the rear of the spa
on the side the cover opens to (See fig 2).
2. If the furthest point of the spa (either the shell coping or the
top rail) extends more than 1 ¼” from the face of the cabinet
where the Mounting Bracket is to be mounted (see fig 3) then
you must install a wood spacer behind the Mounting Bracket to
keep it within 1 ¼”.
C – CHECKING FOR ADEQUATE SUPPORT
The Mounting Bracket requires a wood framing material that is at
least 1 ½” thick for secure attachment. Most spas have a 2” x 2”
horizontal wood interior frame at the top of the cabinet which is
adequate for attachment. If you are not certain what is behind the
cabinet panel where the mounting brackets are to be installed,
remove cabinet panels and hold the Mounting Bracket in its
intended position for installation. Make certain there are a minimum
of 8 holes with material to adhere to (more is always better). If
the interior frame does not have adequate structure for attachment
then you need to secure a wood structure (recommend a 2” x 4”
stud) to the existing cabinet frame.
D – FLAT SURFACE FOR MOUNTING THE BRACKET
The Mounting Bracket Amust sit flush against the cabinet wall. If
your spa has a trim strip, it must be removed, cut, and
replaced. For removal of trim strip first hold the Mounting Bracket in
its intended place, flush under spa coping (or top rail if any), then
pencil mark trim strip, remove, cut at mark, and then replace after
Mounting Bracket is installed.
As a second option to removing the trim strip is to add a spacer
alongside the trim strip leveling out the area the bracket is intended
to be installed on.

PLEASE FOLLOW STEPS IN THE PROPER SEQUENCE
Position the Mounting Bracket Aush with the back coping of the
spa shell. Make certain to use the Mounting Bracket that positions
the “Safety Stop” at the rear of the spa (See Fig 5). Hold Mounting
Bracket at this position and pre-drill into 2 of the holes using the
9/64” drill bit and then secure the Mounting Bracket with the
Wood Screws Uwith a #3 Phillips head bit (See g 5). Repeat this
procedure so that you have a minimum of 8 screws securing the
Mounting Bracket to the cabinet, though more is always better.
NOTE: Pre-drilling the holes is important to prevent splitting
of the wood interior. Be sure not to pre-drill more than 2” deep
so as to prevent internal damage.
Step 2 – Attach “Mounting Bracket”
Position Cover Plate Bover the Mounting Bracket and with a #2
Phillips head bit secure the Machine Screws Winto the 2 center
holes (See Fig 5).

Step 4 – Position Cover on Spa
Position the spa cover evenly on all 4 corners of the spa.
Step 5 – Install “Swing Arm”
Place one Teon Washer T over the“Boss” closest
to the rear of the spa and below the “Safety Stop”.
Then Position the Swing Arm Con the Boss.
Make certain the extended portion of the Swing Arm is
positioned towards the interior of the spa (See Fig 6).
Over the Swing Arm, position the second Teon Washer
T, then the Machined Washer I, then the Locking Washer
J, and then screw in the 5/16 Hex Bolt M. Tighten
securely so that the Lock Washer is compressed
(See Fig 6).

IMPORTANT NOTE:
If the length of the cover on the side you are installing the swing arm is less than 78” then you may need
to cut the Swing Arm using a tube cutter. If cutting is required make certain to measure and allow
approximately 4” of Swing Arm to pass into the Crossover Bar so that the Swing Arm is visible through
each of the pre-drilled holes in the Crossover Bar.
Step 6 – Position “Crossover Bar”
Slide the shorter side of the Crossover Bar over the Swing Arm at a point where the longer side of the Crossover Bar lies
along the hinge of the Cover. Do not secure the Crossover Bar to the Swing Arm at this time (See Figure 7).
Step 7 – Position “Extension Tube”
Put a pencil mark at the center of the Extension Tube Eand slide it partially into the previously installed Crossover Bar
leaving it unattached. The pencil mark will assist you later in positioning the Extension Tube equally between both sides
(See Fig 7).
Step 8 – Position 2nd “Crossover Bar”
Slide the 2nd Crossover Bar into the other side of the Extension Tube making certain that the pencil mark on the Extension
Tube is centered between each Crossover Bar (See Fig 7). Again continue to leave all parts unsecured at this time.
Step 9 – Install 2nd “Swing Arm”
Slide the 2nd Swing Arm into the short side of the 2nd Crossover Bar until the Swing Arm is positioned over the Boss on the
Mounting Bracket. Secure the Swing Arm on the Boss just as it was done on the 1st Swing Arm in Step 5. Again be sure to
tighten the 5/16 Hex Bolt well enough to compress the Lock Washer (See Fig 6).

IMPORTANT:
Be sure to place some sort of material (ply score, plastic, etc.) to protect the cover while you are installing
the screws. Damage to cover during installation is not covered in the warranty.
Figure 8
Step 10 – Secure Crossover Bars to Swing Arms
IMPORTANT: Make certain the Cover is perfectly square on the spa by checking all 4 corners. Then make certain the
Crossover Bars are positioned evenly with the hinge of the cover. Then using the ⁄” drill bit pre-drill into the holes of
the Crossover Bar and then secure the Crossover Bar to the Swing Arms using the Self Taping Screws P(See Fig 7).
REPEAT ON THE OTHER SIDE
Step 11 – Secure Crossover Bars to Extension Tube
Note: When installing as SpaEase 200 use holes facing front and rear of hot tub, not ones facing up
Make certain the Swing Arms are parallel to the cabinet with an even space on both sides of the cover. Then using a
1/8” bit drill holes into the pre-existing holes on the long sides of each Crossover Bar making certain the Extension
Tube is visible, then install with Self Taping Screws P(See Fig 7).
Step 12 – Installing the Handle
If not pre-installed, t the Foam Handle Grip Ginto the Handle
Bar Fas far as it will go. Then determine which side you want to
have the Handle installed and slide it fully into the Crossover
Bar on that side (See Fig 8).
If you later change your mind on which side to install the
Handle, no problem, it can easily be detached and installed on
the opposite side or you can order an additional handle to have
one on each side.
Step 13 – Install “Ball Studs”
With the Cover in the closed position, hand screw one of the Ball Studs Konto the open Boss on the Mounting
Bracket and then secure with wrench.
Then install the second Ball Stud through Hole 1 on the Swing Arm and secure it with a Nylon Lock Nut N utilizing 2
wrenches. (See Fig 6)
NOTE: The additional holes allow for adjustment later if required.
REPEAT ON THE OTHER SIDE
Step 14 – Install Gas Springs
Install the narrow barrel of the Gas Spring into the open Ball Stud on the Mounting Bracket.
REPEAT ON THE OTHER SIDE
Place a cloth over the Safety Stop on both sides to protect it from scratching the Swing Arm and then raise the cover
into an open position (this will require eort since the gas shocks have not been installed). Then on both sides install
the large barrel of each Gas Spring onto the Ball Stud on the Swing Arm (See Fig 6).
Gas Springs should snap onto the Ball Studs.

Step 15 – Install Rubber Sleeve onto Safety Stop
Close the cover and slide the Rubber Sleeve Y onto the
Safety Stop at the rear of the Mounting Bracket (See Fig 9).
Then raise Cover to ensure that Swing Arm touches the
Rubber Sleeve. If not, move Ball Stud on Swing Arm to a
lower hole. Each hole also slightly changes the position of
the Cover when open.
Step 16 – Install “Plastic Covers”
Install all Small Plastic Covers Ron all the Self Taping Screws
and the 2 Large Plastic Covers R on the Swing Arm bolts.
Install Plastic Plug Hinto the side of the Crossover Bar that
does not have the Handle.
Step 17 – Install Locking Straps
Extend the strap on the Cover with the lock mechanism
attached. Once you have positioned the lock on the cabinet
to its most extended position, remove the male portion that
includes the strap and secure the female portion with the
supplied screws (see Fig 10).
Installing Optional Lifter Lock
Place the hook portion of Lifter Lock on either side the
Crossover Bar nearest to the cabinet. Then fully extend the
strap with the lock mechanism down onto the cabinet.
Once you have positioned the lock on the cabinet remove
the male portion that includes the strap and secure the
female portion with the supplied screws (see Fig 11).
All Hot Tub Covers include locking straps that lock the
cover to the spa cabinet. This provides safety along with
helping prevent covers from blowing o during heavy
winds. Our Lifter Lock is the only locking system that locks
the Lifter to the cabinet as well. This provides an additional
level of safety along with providing an additional protection
during high winds. Our Lifter Lock system will work with
any cover lifter that has a straight arm Crossover Bar. Each
Packet includes 2 Lifter Locks, one for each side for
maximum security.
