Remember that the first step to avoiding danger is to recognize the hazards
Safety Checklist
Study this manual. Provide training for new users. Any machine is potentially
dangerous when under the control of untrained personnel.
Always disconnect all power sources before carrying out any adjustments or
maintenance to your machine.
If you suspect there is an oil leak in the system, DO NOT OPERATE! Instead, notify
LSM immediately.
The CP30 is suitable ONLY to be used with the following: Oil filters, air filters, fuel
filters, Tin / Aluminum cans & plastic buckets of diameter less than 300mm & height
less than 460mm.
Operators or helpers should avoid wearing loose clothing.

or sound concrete floor with proper fixings.
It is prohibited to compact spray-cans, aerosol cans or gas containers, cans with
dangerous material, or solid materials.
It is prohibited to compact solid materials such as metal, wood, glass etc. as this will
cause damage to the machinery.
Using any prohibited materials may result in explosions and therefore cause danger to
life.
Never remove safety guards while there is still power going into the machine. All
power must be off!
Never operate machine without having all guards in place. They are there for your
safety and protection.
Machine Installation –It is important to fix your machine to a solid level surface to
avoid movement while in operation.
Always wear safety gloves and eye wear provided when using your machine for your
own safety!!

Operating Instructions
The following chapter explains the method of operating your filter crush.
1. Place 240l wheelie bin or equivalent under the machine.(fig 1)
2. Plug machine into mains and turn on using the power on button on the
electrical control panel (fig 2)
3. Open the door and make sure that the centreplate is in the up / start
position. If it is not, close the door and use the hydraulic lever to return the
centreplate to the start position then open the door again.
4. Place material to be crushed into the chamber. (fig 3)
TIP - Always place the material to be crushed in the centre of the
chamber. This will ensure that the material is crushed evenly and
reduce wear & tear on the machines moving parts.
5. Close and latch the door.
6. Move the hydraulic lever to the down position. This will cause the
centreplate to fall and crush the material. (fig 2)
7. Move the Hydraulic lever to the up position to return the centreplate to the
start position. (fig 2)
8. Open the door and push the crushed material out the hole in the back of the
machine. This will cause the material to fall into the collection bin and clear
the chamber for the next can.
N.B. Some filters are filled with materials that will prevent them
from being crushed, If a filter will not crush DO NOT FORCE IT as
this could damage your machine.
9. Your filter crush has a collection tray at the bottom to collect and run off
from the crushed materials. When the tray is full, drain it via the bung at the
side of the machine. (fig 4)

out routine maintenance. As pointed out in the Safety section of this manual, no
other material than that specified is to be compacted with a CP30. These materials
are as follows:
Oil filters, air filters, fuel filters, Tin / Aluminium cans & plastic buckets
of diameter less than 300mm & height less than 460mm.
A. Correct Maintenance and Inspection Procedures
a. Learn how to service your machine correctly
b. Follow the correct maintenance and inspection procedures shown in
this manual
c. Inspect machine daily before starting
d. Check for loose or missing parts
If there is a problem with your machine, contact LSM Engineering Ltd Service
Dept.

b. Check tightness on all nuts and bolts after the first use and
afterwards on a weekly basis. If loose, contact the LSM Service
Department for torque settings.
c. Check oil level and check for any oil leaks.
d. Keep machine clean.
e. Keep top of packing plate free of debris.
N.B Use Only Hydraulic Oil of Type HYD 32
.
