Machine description
The virtual pinball machine is a hardware system consisting of an assembly of
multiple displays, lighting systems, sound systems and moving force-feedback
components. One player can play the machine at the same time by pressing a
few buttons, which influences the course of the game.
Users can control the components in the pinball machine by installing certain
software systems. Software is not part of the scope of delivery. There are many
variants of software in circulation that can control the pinball machine.
Depending on the configuration and software chosen, the machine can contain
hundreds to thousands of games. Each game can control the hardware
components in its own way and determine its own bandwidth, which means that
the pinball machine will also respond differently to different software
components.
Met name Things like volume, set force for vibration, reaction to the ball
launcher, force feedback, gravity simulation, and reaction speed of the
flippers are determined by software and can therefore vary greatly from
game to game.

intended use
The virtual pinball machine is a “hardware shell” without its own software that
serves as an extension for later installation of open source pinball software and
systems that are freely and often freely available through third parties. The
machine is intended for home entertainment use and is not designed or
intended for commercial use.
The minimum age for using the machine is twelve years. Underage players
should only use the machine under the supervision of an adult.
Scope of delivery
Virtual pinball machines are providedwithout software. At MadeforArcade you
only purchase the hardware (cabinet + physical components). This manual
therefore does not contain instructions for installing, changing or setting up
software components.
The machine may be equipped with a demo operating system with some playing
fields. The demo software is only intended to check and/or confirm the correct
operation of the hardware. This demo software is encrypted and cannot be
modified. No rights can be derived from the demo software.
Pinball machine software and playing fields can often be downloaded for free
from the internet. The user has a wide choice of operating systems and options.
However, the operation, delivery and availability of any software are outside the
sphere of influence of MadeforArcade and therefore no rights can be derived
from this.

Your pinball machine is equipped as standard with connections and cabling for
all conceivable upgrades. It may therefore happen that you find loose or
unconnected cables, switches and/or machine parts in the machine. This is
normal.
INsafety warning
The machine weighs over 170 kilograms. The weight is distributed over 4 small
adjustable feet. Always place the machine on a stable, safe and level surface
that can support the weight of the machine.
suffocation
The machine is equipped with locks with attached keys.Be careful when using
small keys, as they can pose a choking or swallowing hazard. Therefore, keep
them out of the reach of children and ensure that they are stored safely when
not in use.
hearing damage
The machine can produce loud noises for a long time that can damage your
hearing. Therefore, try not to stand too close to the speakers and do not turn the
volume up too loud.
electrocution hazard
Be careful when opening the machine doors. For your own safety, you should
always remove the plug from the socket before opening the access doors.
There may be open live parts inside the machine that, if touched, could result in
electric shock resulting in injury or death. Close doors with the supplied key
before inserting the plug into the socket.

gaming addiction
Playing video games can be addictive and can lead to health problems. If you
experience symptoms of gaming addiction such as fatigue, insomnia or
irritability,then seek professional help.
The trimbos institute and theGaming Infoline0900-1995 (€0.10/min) are
examples of independent information channels with current, scientifically
substantiated information about problematic gaming and game addiction.
Follow these safety warnings to avoid injury or damage to the machine.
preparation for commissioning
Follow the unpacking instructions carefully to avoid damage to the machine.
The machine operates on 220/240 Volt /50 Hz. Inspect the outside and inside of
the machine as well as the connecting cord for defects or damage. To do this,
open all panels and doors and pay particular attention to damage or loose
connections of electrical wiring and components. Do not connect the machine if
the machine, wiring, components or connection cable are damaged.
Close and lock all doors and panels of the machine with the enclosed and
associated keys. After checking, insert the supplied connecting cable into the
back of the machine and plug the plug into a proper socket.
switching on the machine
Failure to follow the correct procedure for turning on the
machine can cause immediate damage or malfunction to the system.
Turn on the main switch on the back of the machine. This is located directly next
to the connection cable.
Made for arcade - handleiding bartop arcade Sept 2022 -- Pagina : 10

If present, turn on the main switch at the bottom of the machine. This is located
in a concealed switch panel in the bottom plate of the cabinet. (note: not every
cabinet configuration is equipped with a 2nd main switch)
Wait until the machine has started completely and the Windows software and
any flipper software are active. Do not interrupt the start-up procedure. This
procedure may take several minutes.

Operation buttons on the side of the machine
After the machine has been fully started, the user can control or influence the
game using various buttons on the cabinet.
Please note: Buttons are assigned their function from the selected game.
In each game, 1 or more buttons can therefore have a different function as
determined by the maker of the respective game.
left flipper button :select the previous game, or select the previous menu
option, or move 1 or more flippers in the game
right flipper button :select the next game or select the next menu option, or
move 1 or more flippers in the game
linker magna save : this button is located above the flipper button and
sometimes has a special function in the game (depending on the game
selected)
right magna save : this button is located above the flipper button and
sometimes has a special function in the game (depending on the game
selected)
magna saves are often used to play mini-games or to activate simulated
electromagnets and thus influence the flow of the ball.
Made for arcade - handleiding bartop arcade Sept 2022 -- Pagina : 12

Operation buttons at the front of the machine
START : starts the selected game or confirms a selection
COIN : Simulates a coin insert and adds credits to the selected playing field.
MUNTINWORP : add a credit to the selected playing field when a coin is
inserted. This has the same function as the “COIN” button. Some playing fields
require more than 1 credit to start a game.
LAUNCH : In some playing fields, this button can be used to launch the ball to
start the game. In some playing fields the button has a special game function.
A/D-PLUNGER : in some playing fields the ball can be launched proportionally
with this trigger
EXIT : return to the main menu to select another game

Operation buttons inside the machine
There are a few more buttons behind the coin slot door. To operate these
buttons, the metal door of the coin insert must be opened with the supplied key.
electrocution hazard
Inside the machine there are parts that carry electrical current. Always remove
the plug from the socket before opening access doors and panels to avoid the
risk of electrocution. Never touch live parts; residual current may still flow
through the circuits.
potentiometer links : to the left of the door at the back of
the machine there is a rotary potentiometer to adjust the
strength of the vibration motor. Do not set the vibration too
high, but so that a slight movement can just be felt.
Frequent shaking and vibration of the motor and case can
damage components over time.
The power of the vibration motor is controlled by the
individual pinball game and can therefore vary per game
and per maker / developer.
Made for arcade - handleiding bartop arcade Sept 2022 -- Pagina : 14

volume controls audible audio: In the front of the cupboard behind the coin
insert there is an audio amplifier with several knobs for volume and bass, among
other things. Do not set the bass tones for the sub-woofer too loudly.
Subwoofers can be damaged by excessive vibrations.
The volume and power of the audio system is controlled by the individual pinball
game and can therefore vary per game and per creator/developer.

Switch off the machine
Failure to follow the correct procedure for switching off the
machine can cause immediate damage or malfunctions to the system
and/or can result in software malfunctions. These faults are not covered
by the warranty!
Depending on the cabinet version, the pinball machine is equipped with a
hardware “soft-exit” button under the cabinet, or the cabinet is closed using a
software “shut down computer” option in the user menu (e.g. with the “pinup
popper” software).
hardware “soft-exit” button
Briefly press the “soft shutdown” button in the
middle of the machine once. This large round
button is located in a concealed switch panel
and often has an on/off symbol in the middle.
(DO NOT press the small button as shown in
the photo).
NOW WAIT UNTIL THE MACHINE HAS
COMPLETED THE ENTIRE SHUTDOWN
PROCEDURE AND WINDOWS IS SHUT
DOWN CORRECTLY.
When the shutdown procedure is completed, the various screens will first turn
black and then change color to prevent burn-in.
Only now turn off the main switch at the back of the machine. The main switch is
located near the power supply connection.
Made for arcade - handleiding bartop arcade Sept 2022 -- Pagina : 16

Taking the machine out of service
Wait until the software has finished shutting down and the video screens change
color periodically (screen saver). Turn off the switch on the back of the machine.
Remove the plug from the socket so that the power supply to the machine is
completely interrupted. Do not leave the machine unattended while it is
connected to the power supply.

Coin training
The coin acceptor in your machine is either empty or has already been trained
on Madeforarcade coins. If the coin acceptor is empty and the machine is not
set to free play, a sample coin must first be placed in the coin acceptor.
The coin acceptor has a spring-loaded clamp slide. This
slide has a slot where you can slide a coin in/between.
Do this while holding the slider up.
When your coin is in the slot, you can slowly and
carefully lower the slide with the coin in between.
Lock the machine with the corresponding key and switch
on the machine. Insert a coin into the coin slot at the
front of the machine. Please note, use the same type of
coin as the coin in the coin acceptor sit.
When inserting a coin, the coin acceptor compares the
inserted coin with the sample coin. If the coins are equal,
the inserted coin is removed to the cash drawer and a
credit is counted in the user display.
Only insert coins with a diameter of 18 to 25 mm. and a thickness of 1.6 to
2 mm.

Cleaning the glass plate / monitor window
The playing field is a high-resolution monitor that can be statically charged and
therefore attracts dust and dirt. From time to time, dust can collect under the
playing field window.
To remove and clean the window:
Remove the lock bar by sliding the lever inside the coin to the left
Now carefully pull the lockbar upwards and remove it. Now unscrew the 2
screws that hold the glass plate (not present in all cabinets)
then unscrew the metal profiles on both sides by removing the 2 screws.
Made for arcade - handleiding bartop arcade Sept 2022 -- Pagina : 19

Now remove the profiles and carefully slide the glass plate forward out of the
slots. NB ! The glass plate is quite heavy.
