3General safety
Please read all safety instructions and directions. Failure to comply with the safety instructions and
directions can cause electric shock, fire and/or serious injuries. Please retain all safety instructions and
directions for future reference.
3.1 Intended use
The chargers are only suitable for charging MAFELL rechargeable battery packs.
The safety regulations applicable in the country of use and other generally recognized safety and occupational
health rules must be observed.
3.2 Foreseeable misuse
The device is not intended for any other use than the intended use listed above.
The manufacturer is not liable for any damage resulting from such other use.
To use the device as intended, comply with the operating, maintenance and repair conditions specified by
MAFELL.
Foreseeable misuse also includes:
- Using the device outdoors, in the rain and under wet conditions, or in potentially explosive atmospheres.
- Unauthorized modifications of the device.
- Non-observance of safety and warning instructions in the operating instructions.
- Removing the safety and warning labels on the device.
- Operation of the device by unauthorized persons.
- Failure to follow prescribed maintenance and care instructions.

3.3 Safety instructions
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS!
Non-observance of the instructions listed below can cause electric shock, fire and/or serious injuries
.
- Before each use, check the device, the cable and the plug. Do not continue using the device when you
notice any damage. Have the repair carried out only by a specialist. Never open the device yourself.
- Store the device in a dry and frost-proof place. Never operate the device when it is damp or in a damp
environment.
- Never store the rechargeable battery pack together with metallic objects. There is a risk of a short
circuit.
- Never charge third-party rechargeable batteries. The device is only suitable for charging MAFELL
lithium-ion batteries with a voltage of 18 V.
- Never charge a damaged rechargeable battery pack. Replace a damaged rechargeable battery
immediately.
- Watch out for battery fluid leaking from damaged rechargeable battery packs. Rinse immediately with
plenty of water if battery fluid gets in contact with your skin. If battery fluid gets into your eyes, wash your
eyes with clean water and seek medical attention immediately.
- Never reach into the device with objects that can conduct electricity. There is a risk of electric shock as
there is mains voltage in certain areas.
- Never dispose of used rechargeable battery packs in a fire or in the household waste. Defective or
exhausted rechargeable batteries must be collected separately and recycled in an environmentally friendly
manner.
- Use only genuine MAFELL spare parts, accessories and special accessories. Failure to do so will
make warranty claims and the liability of the manufacturer null and void.
- Never hold or suspend the device by the cable.
- Children and adolescents are not allowed to operate this device.

4Startup
The charger is class-II insulated.
Prior to starting operation with the charger, ensure that the ventilation slots are unobstructed. The minimum
distance to other objects is 5 cm [1.97 in].
4.1 Mains connection
Prior to starting up the device, check to ensure that the mains voltage corresponds to the operating voltage
specified on the rating plate of the machine.
Devices like this one that generate DC current could affect simple residual current circuit breakers. Use a type
F RCCB or better, an RCCB with a tripping current of max. 30 mA.
4.2 Selftest
1. Insert the power plug into a power outlet.
➢Warning indicator (2) and operating
indicator (3) light up in succession for
approx. 1 second. The integrated fan runs
for approx. 5 seconds.

5Operation
Charging the rechargeable battery:
1. Push the rechargeable battery pack on the
sliding seat (1) as far as it will go.
➢The operating indicator (3) blinks.

Trickle charge:
➢Once charging has been completed, the
charger automatically switches over to
trickle charging. The rechargeable battery
pack can remain in the charger and is thus
always ready for use. The operating
indicator (3) shines continuously.

6Service and maintenance
Always keep the device clean.
Repair work must be carried out by your dealer or MAFELL Customer Service.
A damaged power cord must be replaced by MAFELL Customer Service, as special tools are required for this
work.
7Troubleshooting
Some of the most common malfunctions and their causes are listed below. For other malfunctions, please
contact your dealer or MAFELL Customer Service directly.

3Sécurité générale
Veuillez lire toutes les consignes de sécurité et instructions. Tout non-respect des consignes de sécurité et instructions risque d'être à
l'origine de décharges électriques, d'incendies et/ou de blessures graves. Conservez toutes les consignes et instructions pour pouvoir les
relire à tout moment.
3.1 Utilisation conforme
Les chargeurs conviennent exclusivement au chargement de blocs batteries MAFELL.
Les consignes de sécurité en vigueur dans le pays d'utilisation correspondant ainsi que les autres
réglementations reconnues en matière de technique de sécurité et de médecine du travail doivent être
respectées.
3.2 Utilisation non conforme prévisible
L’appareil n'est pas destiné à une autre utilisation que celle conforme, précédemment indiquée.
La responsabilité du fabricant ne pourra pas être mise en cause en cas de dommages résultant d'une
utilisation non conforme.
Pour utiliser l’appareil de façon conforme, respecter les conditions de fonctionnement, maintenance et
entretien prescrites par MAFELL.
Font également partie de l'utilisation non conforme prévisible :
- L’utilisation de l’appareil en plein air, sous la pluie ou dans un milieu humide ou des locaux à risque
d’explosion.
- Toute modification de l’appareil sans autorisation préalable.
- Le non-respect des consignes de sécurité et mises en garde dans la notice d'emploi.
- Le retrait des consignes de sécurité et mises en garde apposées sur l’appareil.
- La commande de l’appareil par des personnes non autorisées.
- Le non-respect des consignes de maintenance et d'entretien.

3.3 Consignes de sécurité
LIRE TOUTES LES INSTRUCTIONS !
Le non-respect des instructions ci-après peut être à l'origine de décharges électriques,
incendies et/ou graves blessures.
- Avant toute utilisation, vérifier l'appareil, le câble et la fiche. Ne pas continuer d'utiliser l'appareil, si la
présence de dommages est constatée. Ne confier la réparation qu'à un spécialiste. Ne jamais ouvrir
l'appareil soi-même.
- Conserver l'appareil dans un endroit sec et à l'abri du gel. L'appareil ne doit pas être humide et ne doit
pas non plus être exploité dans un environnement humide.
- Ne pas conserver des blocs batteries à proximité d'objets métalliques. Ceci pourrait être sinon à
l'origine de court-circuits.
- Ne pas charger de batteries d'une autre marque. L'appareil ne convient qu'au chargement de blocs
batteries lithium-ion MAFELL d'une tension de 18 V.
- Ne pas recharger de bloc batterie endommagé. Remplacer immédiatement tout bloc batterie
endommagé.
- Si des blocs batteries sont endommagés, faire attention si de l’acide s’en écoule. En cas de fuite
d'acide de bloc batterie et de contact avec la peau, rincer immédiatement à grande eau. En cas de
projection dans les yeux, les laver à l'eau propre et consulter immédiatement un médecin !.
- Ne pas introduire d'objets conductibles dans l'appareil. Sinon, risque de décharge électrique, vu que
certaines zones se trouvent sous tension.
- Ne jeter des blocs batteries usés ni au feu, ni dans les ordures ménagères. Les blocs batteries
défectueux ou usagés doivent être collectés séparément et recyclés dans le respect de l'environnement.
- N'utiliser que des pièces de rechange, des accessoires et pièces spéciales d'origine MAFELL. À
défaut de quoi la garantie du constructeur n'est pas assurée et sa responsabilité est dégagée.
- Ne pas porter ou suspendre l'appareil au niveau de son câble.
- Il est interdit à des enfants ou à des adolescents de se servir de cet appareil.

4Mise en service
Le chargeur a une isolation conforme au degré de protection II.
Avant la mise en service du chargeur, s'assurer que les fentes d'aération sont bien dégagées. La distance
minimum par rapport à d’autres objets de 5 cm [1,97 in] au moins.
4.1 Raccordement au réseau
Avant la mise en service, veiller à ce que la tension secteur corresponde à la tension de service indiquée sur la
plaque signalétique de l'appareil.
Des appareils générateurs de courant continu, tels que celui-ci, risque d'influencer de simples interrupteurs de
protection contre les courants de court-circuit. Utiliser un disjoncteur à courant de défaut du type F, ou mieux,
avec un courant de déclenchement de 30 mA au maximum.
4.2 Auto-test
1. Relier la fiche secteur à une prise de courant
➢Le témoin d'alerte (2) et le témoin de
fonctionnement (3) s'allument l'un après
l'autre pendant 1 seconde environ. Le
ventilateur monté tourne pendant 5
secondes environ.

Chargement du bloc batterie :
1. Introduire le bloc batterie () jusqu'en butée sur le
logement coulissant (1).
➢Le témoin de fonctionnement (3) clignote.

Charge de maintien :
➢Une fois le bloc batterie complètement
chargé, le chargeur passe
automatiquement en charge de maintien.
Le bloc batterie peut rester dans le
chargeur et se trouve ainsi toujours
opérationnel. Le témoin de fonctionnement
(3) reste allumé en permanence.

6Entretien et maintenance
Toujours maintenir l'appareil en parfait état de propreté.
Les travaux de réparation ne doivent être effectués que par votre concessionnaire ou le service après-vente
MAFELL.
Si le câble secteur est endommagé, il doit être remplacé par le service après vente MAFELL, car son
remplacement nécessite la présence d'un outillage spécial.
7Élimination des défauts
Les dérangements les plus fréquents et leurs causes sont décrits ci-après. Pour tout autre dérangement,
veuillez contacter votre concessionnaire ou directement le service après-vente MAFELL.
