STEP 1: ASSEMBLE THE WHEEL AND NOSE MOUNTING BRACKETS TO THE
FRAME.
Use a workbench or table of convenient height and place all components in view and within reach.
1. Place the frame on the table so that the side with the vertical straps will be face-down. Position the RH and LH wheel brackets against
the outside of the frame side rails so that the holes in the bracket line up with the holes in the side rail.
2. Insert two 5/16"-18 x 2-1/4" long hex head bolts through both wheel brackets and through the side rails.
3. Slide the side channel reinforcements onto the bolts.
4. Slide the basket mounting brackets onto the bolts.
5. Start threading the 5/16"-18 hex lock nuts onto the bolts. Do not tighten the lock nuts at this time!

STEP 2: ASSEMBLE THE AXLE AND WHEELS.
1. Slide the axle through the wheel brackets so that it is centered between the brackets. Make sure the two center most holes in the axle
align with the grooves in the wheel bracket for easier installation of the roll pin.
2. Using a small hammer, install the two roll pins into these holes so that they are centered onto the axle. Make sure the roll pins "lock"
into position in the wheel bracket.
3. Slide one 5/8" washer onto each end of the axle.
4. Slide one wheel onto each end of the axle with the larger part of the hub toward the inside of the hand truck.
5. Slide one 5/8" washer onto each end of the axle.
6. Insert one cotter pin into each hole at the end of the axle. Use the pliers to bend the ends of the cotter pins.

STEP 3: ASSEMBLE THE BASKET TO THE FRAME.
1. Align the four square holes on the basket assembly to the four square holes on the basket mounting brackets.
2. Insert four 5/16"-18 x 3/4" carriage bolts into the square holes of the basket assembly and through the nose mounting brackets. Use
four 5/16"-18 hex lock nuts to fasten the basket assembly to the brackets. Do not fully tighten at this time!
3. Insert three 1/4"-20 x 3/4" pan head screws through the three round holes in the rear of the basket and through the corresponding
holes in the frame vertical strap. Fasten with three 1/4"-20 hex lock nuts.
4. Insert four 1/4"-20 x 1-1/4" long pan head screws through the four holes on the upper sides of the basket and through the side rail of
the frame.
5. One each side, slide one frame stub over the ends of the bolts (see note in Figure 3c). Fasten with four 1/4"-20 lock nuts.
6. While the hand truck is standing upright, fully tighten ALL fasteners used so far (1/4"-20 fasteners to 50-60 in.-lbs. torque, and 5/16"-18
bolts to 120-140 in.-lbs. torque).

STEP 4: ASSEMBLE THE CASTERS TO THE BASKET.
1. Line up the mounting holes in one caster plate with the holes in the bottom of the basket assembly. Fasten with four 5/16"-18 x 3/4"
long carriage bolts and four 5/16"-18 hex lock nuts. Be sure the bolts are oriented so that the head is inside the basket.
2. Repeat for the second caster.
3. Securely tighten to 120-140 in.-lbs. torque.
STEP 5: ASSEMBLE THE HANDLE.
1. Place black frame caps on frame. Position the handle between the frame rails so that the handle loop bends toward the operator
during use; line up the holes in the handle with the holes in the frame.
2. Fasten with four 1/4”-20 x 1-1/2" long pan head screws and four 1/4"-20 hex lock nuts. Securely tighten screws to 50-60 in.-lbs.
torque.
