INSTALLATION MANUALS INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEOS

A kayak has basic features. The front of the kayak is the bow and the rear is
the stern. When sitting in the kayak, facing the bow, the left side of the kayak
is port and the right side of the kayak is starboard. The hull ID number (KPO
sticker) can be found on the starboard side of the kayak at the stern.
The X-13 gator hatch is one of our patented designs, that allows full access to
the hull while providing additional bungee storage and a child seat. In the
middle of the boat, there is a cockpit area with foot wells (toward the bow)
and a seating area (towards the stern). The center rectangular hatch allows
access to the inside of the kayak for gear storage. Inside the cockpit, there are
holes that go all of the way through the kayak called scuppers. These scuppers
allow the kayak to drain. Like many of our models, the X-13 is equipped with
a backwell bungee storage which is an ideal placement for a 5 gallon live bait
bucket. It can also be used as a storage for any gear you wish to bring on board
and hold securely with our sturdy bungee cord. Threaded eyelets are installed
along the rails of the kayak to attach numerous accessories e.g. seat, tackle
box, dry bag, etc. Your kayak also has a designed drain system to drain out any
water that’s inside of the kayak hull after your kayaking trip.

carry handle and the other end to your tow hook. This will prevent your kayak
from swaying while making turns.

Maintenance
After every use, it is recommended to thoroughly rinse your kayak with water.
Make sure to rinse foot pegs and all hardware with plenty of fresh water after
paddling in saltwater, brackish or polluted water.
Kayak Wash
Recommended supplies:
- Bucket
- Sponge
- Soft cloth
- Garden hose
- Wash soap solution
In preparation, ll your bucket with water and add a cap or two full of soap.
Next, nd a clean and at area to wash your kayak. Utilize kayak cradles or
stands if you have them, if not, a deck or grassy lawn works great.
First, wash down the kayak with your garden hose to remove any surface dirt,
pollen, debris, sea salt, etc. While the kayak is still wet, take your sponge and
soak it in the soap/water solution. Wash down the entire kayak with the soap/
water solution. This will remove any stubborn dirt and debris. Be careful not to
remove decals while scrubbing your kayak.
After you scrub down the surface with soap/water solution, rinse down the
kayak with your garden hose again to remove any excess suds. Remove
threaded eyelet that is located near the stern to drain out any excess water that
might be inside the hull. Let your kayak air dry, or towel dry the surface if you
prefer. Turn your kayak over and make sure the hull is completely dry.
Kayak UV Protection
As a nishing touch, to prevent damages from harmful UV radiation we
suggest a quality UV protection. 303 Aerospace Protection can be applied as a
sunscreen for your kayak.
Patching Holes
Super linear polyethylene is very durable and can be repaired if the need
arises. Cracks or deep gouges can be welded with a suitable heat gun and resin
powder. Marine goop is also a very inexpensive way to seal a pin-hole leak or
other small patching areas.
Instructions for Patching Holes:
Be sure NOT to leave soldering iron in one area too long; you can burn a hole
in your kayak. The cooling process takes about 10 minutes. Test area when
nished. In some cases you might need to add a second application depending
on the size of the repair. Items needed: color plastic to match your kayak and a
pencil-grip soldering iron. (Approximately 25 watt)

Always store your kayak indoors or under cover to protect from harsh weather,
direct sunlight and other elements.
Storing your boat upside down on crossbars or hanging from wide strapping
around the cock pit area are the best ways to keep the kayak stored.
You could also store your kayak on its stern standing against a wall. Make sure
to strap your kayak to prevent it from tipping over.

Never use a wheel cart as a storage platform for your kayak. A wheel cart
should only be used for transportation.
Never hang the kayak by handles or by the scuppers. It will distort the kayak
hull.
On its side over a long period of time it can deform or dent the sides.
Storing your kayak cockpit side up on cross bars can dent the bottom.
