Handy Pillow Li
Intended Use
The Handy Pillow Li:
• Provides adjustable back support for people who require to sleep in a more upright posion. NOTE: Do
not use the Handy Pillow Li when for medical reasons, it is crical that an upright sleeping posion is
maintained (See ‘WARNINGS’).
• Provides assistance for those with limited upper body strength wishing to li themselves to a reclined
or sing posion.
• Can be used simply as a means of providing addional comfort.
The Handy Pillow Li has been designed to t on any bed without the need for securing straps. Power is
provided by the Mangar Health Airo 12 Compressor. PLEASE READ the separate Airo 12 compressor user
instrucons.
WARNINGS
• Ensure that you have read and fully understand these and the separate Airo 12 user instrucons
before using the equipment.
• Where a medical condion dictates that an upright sleeping posion is crical, the Handy Pillow Li
must not be used as an air leak in the system would cause the backrest to loose height.
• Ensure that when in use, the Airo 12, the hand control lead and air hose are laid out in such a way as
to avoid any risk of tripping or strangulaon.
• Do not use any other air supply to inate the Handy Pillow Li.
• The Handy Pillow Li should only be used for it’s stated purpose and should not be modied in any way.
• Do not operate the Airo 12 compressor in the presence of ammable anaesthec mixtures with
air, oxygen or nitrous oxide, as these mixtures can create a combusble environment leading to the
potenal for re or even an explosion in the presence of a spark.
• Ensure that when in use, the Airo 12 compressor, the hand control lead and air hose are laid out in
such a way as to avoid any risk of tripping or strangulaon.
• Do not allow children to play with the Handy Pillow Li or Airo 12 as operaon of the equipment in
an uncontrolled or unsupervised situaon may lead to personal injury and/or damage.

Fing Instrucons
• Fit the spreader bar (A g. 1) through the pocket
on the base of the Handy Pillow Li.
• The air hose (B), can be led to either side of
the bed, depending on where the compressor
is to be placed. If the hose is to be led to the
le hand side of the bed (as you lie on the bed),
the hose needs to pass through the two holes as
indicated (C).
• Remove the pillows from the bed and place the
Handy Pillow Li on the bed with the spreader
bar posioned up against the headboard. Fold
the strut (D g.2) towards the headboard.
• Connect the air hose from the Handy Pillow Li
to the Airo 12 air outlet socket (E g. 3).
• Connect the push buon hand control (F) to the
hand control socket (G).
• Place the Airo 12 by the side or under the bed,
in an out of the way posion.
• Parally inate the Handy Pillow Li by pressing
‘Up’ on the hand control (see separate Airo 12
user instrucons).

Handy Pillow Li
• Fit the quilt (H g.4) to the Handy Pillow Li by
inserng the top and boom of the Handy Pillow
Li into the pockets at the top and boom of
the quilt.
• Fit the cover (J ) over the quilt in the same way
as ng the quilt, ensuring that the ap (K), is
posioned at the top.
• Posion your pillow on the Handy Pillow Li as
indicated (g. 5) and wrap the ap (K) completely
around the pillow to hold it in place.
Operang Instrucons
• To raise the Handy Pillow Li, press ‘Up’ on the
hand control or built-in control buon.
• To stop at any point, release the ‘Up’ buon.
• To lower the Handy Pillow Li, press ‘Down’ on
the hand control or built-in control buon.
FOR YOUR SAFETY: Keep the compressor, the air
hose and the hand control dy and easy to reach.

Handy Pillow Li
Roune Cleaning
Remove the cover and quilt and inate the Handy Pillow Li. Sponge clean with a non abrasive proprietary
liquid cleaner or disinfectant and dry thoroughly. Do not dry using hot air. The cover can be machine
washed up to 40°C; low heat tumble dried and medium heat ironed. Do Not dry clean or use bleach. Restrict
the quilt washing temperature to 40°C for maximum product life.
Disinfecng
The quilt and cover should be removed and the Handy Pillow Li be fully inated. The Handy Pillow Li
should be pre-cleaned by washing with detergent and water and then disinfected using a 1:10 soluon of
household liquid bleach and water (1 part bleach to 10 parts cold water). Leave the soluon on the Handy
Pillow Li for approximately 10 minutes before thoroughly rinsing o with clean cold water. Do not dry
using hot air.
The quilt can be thermal disinfected at 71ºC for 3 minutes, followed by tumble drying.
NOTE: ‘Normal’ seng tumble dry temperatures (70ºC) can reach 80ºC and therefore, a ‘Low‘ temperature
(40ºC) seng should be used. If thermal disinfecon of the quilt at 71ºC for 3 minutes is repeatedly carried
out, degradaon of the quilt’s performance can occur.
Storage
Ensure that the Handy Pillow Li is thoroughly dry before storing. Store deated in a dry place. Keep these
instrucons in a safe place for future reference.
Maintenance
Other than roune cleaning and disinfecng, the Handy Pillow Li is maintenance free.
We recommend that a thorough examinaon of the Handy Pillow Li is carried out regularly (not to exceed
12 months). Please contact our Customer Service Department for further details or contact your local
supplier.

(b) The defect is not aributable to accidental damage (either in transit or otherwise), misuse or
unauthorised repair.
