Before Use
Quick Start Guide
Fit the appropriate mains
adaptor to the charger (see
“Baery Charging” page 6).
Connect the baery charger
to a mains power socket and
the Airo 12 charging
socket.
CHARGE THE BATTERY FOR 16 HOURS BEFORE
USE.
To calibrate the baery and baery indicator,
it is essenal before the rst use to charge for
16 hours and then disconnect from the charger
and leave for 90 minutes to allow the baery
management soware to correctly calibrate.
WARNING: THE AIRFLO MUST BE PUT ON CHARGE FOR 16 HOURS BEFORE FIRST USE.

Once a red LED and Deate Lock has been acvated during discharge (see page 3), a 2
hour plus charge is required to reset the Deate Lock.

IMPORTANT: The Airo 12 is designed not to deate if there is insucient baery voltage to fully inate the
liing product. This safety feature stops an inatable bathing product from being lowered to the boom of
a bath if there is insucient baery voltage to raise it again.

Airo 12
The Airo 12 by Mangar Health is a low
pressure air compressor, which has been
designed to inate a range of Mangar Health
pneumac liing equipment.

•Be sure that you have read and understood these
instrucons and those provided with any other
Mangar Health product, before operang the
equipment.
•To avoid the risk of electric shock, NEVER
recharge the baery in the bathroom, outdoors
or in a damp environment.
•Always disconnect from the baery charger
before cleaning.
•Use only the supplied baery charger.
•Do not operate the Airo 12 compressor in the
presence of ammable anaesthec mixtures with
air, oxygen or nitrous oxide, as these mixtures
can create a combusble environment leading to
the potenal for re or even an explosion in the
presence of a spark.
•Ensure that when in use, the Airo 12 and its
connected hose and hand control lead are laid
out in such a way as to avoid any risk of tripping
or strangulaon.
•Ensure that children and pets do not interfere
with the safe operaon of the Airo 12 and
inatable product.
•Keep the Airo 12 and inatable product away
from sources of heat.
•Disconnect the Airo 12 compressor from the
inatable product before transporng so as to
avoid accidental inaon.
•The Airo 12 should only be used for its stated
purpose and should not be modied in any way.
•The oponal mains power adaptor is specic to
the Airo 12 and is the only approved unit to be
used for this purpose.
•Do not operate the compressor outside of the
specied duty cycle of 20% ‘Operang Time’ and
80% ‘Non-Operang Time’. Maximum connuous
operang me = 5 minutes.

The Mangar Airo 12 compressor along with
the correct selecon of inatable device as
listed above can be used by:
•A person with sucient upper body
strength who requires assistance in moving
or support, to do so on their own.
•A person who is assisng the user to move
or be supported.
•No special skills or training are required to
operate the Airo 12 and its accessories.
Further guidance on operaon can be found in
the individual accessory User Instrucons.
The Airo compressor and applied parts are
intended for connual re-use as required and
no special acons or operaons are needed to
achieve this.

Baery Status Indicator
Geng Started
The Airo 12 does not have an ‘on/o’ switch.
To operate the compressor, press the ‘Up’
buon on the Airo or on the hand control.

WARNING: The baery must be put on charge immediately as soon as the red indicator light appears.
Running the Airo 12 on RED unl the baery is exhausted will damage the baery.
When the compressor is running, the baery status indicator lights will only indicate the state of baery
charge as it was at the start of the li. When the compressor stops running, the baery status indicator
lights will go o. To determine the true baery state following a li, press the ‘Baery Status Indicator’
buon and the lights will indicate the baery charge state.
IMPORTANT: To maximize the life and liing performance of the baery, fully recharge the baery for 16
hours.
Fully charge the baery for a minimum of 16 hours before using the Airo 12 for the rst me; and
when a new baery has been ed. Then disconnect from the charger and leave for 90 minutes to
allow the baery management soware to correctly calibrate. Failure to do this could lead to incorrect
baery charging and baery ladder indicaon.
To determine the baery charge state before use, press the ‘Baery Status Indicator’ buon to acvate
the baery status indicator lights:
NOTE: DO NOT PRESS THE ‘BATTERY STATUS INDICATOR’ BUTTON WHILST THE BATTERY

Baery Charging - gs. 2
•Check the baery charger casing and lead
for signs of damage and if damaged DO
NOT USE.
• Fit the appropriate mains plug adaptor to
the baery charger (A).
•Plug the baery charger into a mains
power socket and connect the charger
output lead to the Airo 12 charging
socket (B).
NOTE: When rst ng a baery they must
be charged for a minimum of 16 hours to
achieve full capacity. On subsequent charges
the Airo calculates the charging period
based on usage and will not necessarily start
at the boom light ashing.
When the baery is being charged:
•For the rst 6 hours, the boom light
will ash green. Aer 6 hours the rst
light will become a steady green and the
second light will start ashing. Charging
cycle connues unl all lights are lit.
•Aer 16 hours the charge will be
complete and the compressor will move
into an energy saving mode with the top
LED ashing every 6 seconds and the
other 3 will be o.

NOTE: If charging is momentarily interrupted (a power cut, switching the power socket o or
disconnecng the charging lead), on re-connecon, the charging process will resume at the
same charge sequence point.
To maintain baery condion, it is recommended that the Airo 12 is le connuously on charge
when not in use. The baeries cannot be overcharged using this charger.

Operaon - g. 4
When used with Bathing accessory disconnect the Airo
12 from the baery charger and place it in a safe and
convenient posion.
•Connect the Hand Control plug (A) to the Airo 12 hand
control socket (B).
•Connect the hose from the Mangar pneumac liing
equipment to the Airo 12 air outlet socket (C). The
connector will ‘click’ into place when rmly pushed
onto the socket.
•Press the ‘Up’ buon (D) to raise.
•Press the ‘Down’ buon (E) to lower.
•Alternavely press the Airo 12 built in buons to raise
or lower the equipment.
NOTE: When either the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ buons are pressed,
a baery voltage check is carried out and if the voltage
becomes too low, the ‘Down’ buon will not work. This
feature will always ensure that the seat of a Mangar Health
bathing product cannot be lowered into a bath if there is
insucient baery power to raise it again.

Mains Power Adaptor (oponal)
An oponal mains power adaptor is available to power the
Airo 12 directly from a mains power socket. The adaptor
is specic to the Airo 12 and is the only approved unit to
be used for this purpose. Connect the adaptor between a
mains power socket and the adaptor inlet socket on the end
of the Airo 12 (Fig. 3).
NOTE: This adaptor, has a non-standard output connector
and powers the Airo 12 directly, it will not charge the
baery. The only way to charge the baery is to use the
charger which was supplied with the Airo 12. With the
power adaptor connected, the Airo 12 behaves in the
same way as if it was running on the baery, the only
funconal dierence is that the baery indicator light will
show boom LED orange. With the adaptor connected, the
Airo 12 will also run if there is no baery ed.
WARNING: DO NOT use the mains power adaptor in a
bathroom or in a damp environment.

Maintenance - g. 5
The Airo 12 has been designed to be maintenance
free and apart from replacing the baery, the Airo 12
contains no other user serviceable parts
Baery replacement:
•Turn the Airo 12 onto its end containing the air
outlet socket, remove the screw (A) and slide the
end panel (B) away from the housing.
•Disconnect the wire from the baery pack
and remove the baery pack from the baery
compartment leaving the foam block in place.
•Fit the replacement baery pack, ensuring that the
connector is secure, ret the end panel and secure
the screw (A).

Disposal
When the Airo 12 has reached the end of it’s working life, remove the baery for safe disposal
in accordance with local regulaons, and dispose of the Airo 12 at your local household waste
recycling centre (civic amenity site).
Cleaning
•Unless contaminaon is suspected, periodic cleaning is all that is recommended. The Airo 12
should be cleaned/disinfected as follows:
•Unplug the Airo 12 from the baery charger. Clean the external surfaces using a non abrasive
damp cloth with warm water. Wipe dry thoroughly with a dry towel before reconnecng to the
baery charger. Do not allow moisture to enter any part of the compressor.
•Do not use solvent-based products.
Disinfecng
•Pre-clean using a damp cloth and then disinfect using a hard surface alcohol impregnated
wipe.
Storage
•When not in use, store in a dry place together with these instrucons. To maintain the baeries,
when being stored for long periods, put the Airo 12 on charge for 16 hours every 3 months.
NOTE: Ensure that the baeries are fully charged before storing the Airo 12 for long periods.
When it becomes apparent that the Airo 12 is producing fewer than expected liing cycles, the
baery is probably reaching the end of its working life and should be replaced.

being inated is connected to the Airo.
•Check that there are no kinks in the air hose.
•Compressor keeps stopping when trying to
inate the liing aid. •Check that there are no kinks in the air hose.

•Low baery capacity, recharge for a
minimum of 2 hours.

•Internal pump temperature too high - allow a
cool down period of 60-90 minutes.

•Current overload. Check there are no kinks in

The warranty is given against defects in material and workmanship and comprises piece, parts and
labour. The warranty is not valid in the case of fair wear and tear, wilful damage, common neglect,
misuse or unauthorised alteraon or repair by unqualied persons.
The following statements do not aect the consumer’s statutory rights. This product is sold on the
understanding that in the event of any defect of manufacture or material appearing within the
warranty period, the defect will be reced free of charge providing that:
(a) Reasonable evidence is provided (e.g. purchase invoice, delivery note) that the claim is being
