The 7.2 channel AV7005 gives you superb audio quality thanks partially to Marantz-own HDAM modules and renown

Marantz design. The audio signal is passed to the XLR outputs and the separate power amp. In addition, all audio

signals enter the DSP in a variety of ways to ensure that all channels are kept completely separate, thus eliminating

interfering ‘channel crosstalk’. For example, you can route the audio signal via the network jack for streaming music

from your PC or Internet radio. Alternatively, you can route it via one of the six HDMI 1.4a inputs, one of which is

hidden behind the front flap for easy access. Here you can also find the iPod-digital-compatible USB input and a

second double line display, which complements the famous elegant circular display with more detailed information.

The AV7005 also takes supreme care of 3D video signals, even in stand-by mode, and sends them to the two HDMI

1.4a output sockets. And there is even a Phono MM input – ideal for those precious vinyls. It supports all the latest

sound formats including Audyssey DSX by using the Sharc 32 Bit signal processor from Analog Devices, also for

handling the MultEQ XT auto calibration. It’s all there, just waiting to perform.

The new MM7055 is the five-channel option in this year’s extended line-up of main amplifiers. Based on the

technology used in the MM80 03 and using the exact same chassis, it delivers a thumping 140 W RMS into 8 Ohms

to each of the channels, while the ultra-wide bandwidth current feedback technology easily handles the highest

SACD frequencies – this also makes it ideal for the high definition DTS Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD formats too.

The MM7025 is this year’s ideal two-channel main amplifier with a whopping 140 W RMS into 8 Ohms per channel.

Use it in an AV setup to give your front channels an earth-moving boost or simply to make a sensational upgrade to

an existing stereo system. Because the technology is the same as that in the MM7055 and MM8003, using them in

combination is fast, efficient and friendly. It’s a great flexible customisation enabler. And, as with the big brother

MM7055, it also includes a new stylish display, XLR inputs, DC triggers and Marantz bus.

At the heart of this amplifier is a massive high-current, audiophile-grade, oversized Toroidal power transformer.

It easily delivers more than 140 W to each of the eight channels, and in addition to its sheer power, it incorporates

highgrade audio components throughout, extensive shielding of key components, and ultra-wide bandwidth Current

Feedback technology. The amplification system was originally developed to handle Super Audio CD signals, so it’s

AV RECEIVERS

The new SR7005 AV Receiver with 7 x 125 W into 8 Ohms keeps cross channel contamination to an absolute

minimum for ultra-precise signal processing. The ‘muscle’ power of the system comes from the current feedback

circuitry with Marantz HDAMs and an oversized low impedance transformer for rapid current supply. Not even

extreme demands for power will pull the SR7005 of f balance. The ‘brain’ of the system is the latest 400 MHz Sharc

DSP, which easily handles HD audio decoding including the Audyssey DSX and the MultEQ XT room calibration. The

source signal can be either digital or analogue, and it can also be from a wide variety of inputs. Firstly, there are six

HDMI 1.4a inputs – one of which is hidden behind the front flap for easy access. For new media there is a

iPod-digital-compatible USB input, while the RJ45 Net work jack provides connection to vTuner Internet radio and

music services such as Napster and last.fm. You can even access your music librar y stored on computer (see the

graphic on page 11). Classical analogue signals will come from the built-in FM tuner or via either the analogue input

jacks or the Phono equalizer: which is ideal for vinyls. Video signals are also treated with loving care by ABT2015

video processing, a host of video adjustment possibilities and two HDMI 1.4a outputs supporting 3D video. It’s all

there, eager to please.

The new SR6005 is powerful … very powerful – 7 x 110 W RMS to be exact. Combined with high-quality audio

processing this stylish box of tricks creates a devastatingly convincing cinematic experience… and thrusts you right

into the heart of the action. That’s because the digital audio signal – up to Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD – is fed via

one of the six 3D supporting HDMI 1.4a inputs. In addition, the system’s Dynamic Volume control ensures that the

sound remains the same level even when a commercial interrupts. Also, the video up-scaling of analogue and digital

video signals up to 1080p – by the famous Anchor Bay ABT2015 – avoids the necessity of selecting the right input

The moment that the Blu-ray standard became fully specified was also the moment for Marantz to give the green

light to its engineers to create the ultimate-qualit y Blu-ray and SACD player! The result is the flagship UD9004: a

Reference standard Blu-ray Player. The UD9004 incorporates Silicon’s Realta Optix HQV 10-bit processing

technology, derived from professional broadcast systems, with no less than 10 technologies for a breathtaking

picture from both DVD and Blu-ray. It also has a whole host of state-of-the-art features to reproduce exeptional

quality audio – as you would expect from a Marantz player. It includes a heavy multi-layer copper-plated chassis, as

well as an audio-exclusive power supply with encased Toroidal transformer and customised capacitors. To avoid any

cross talk to the main front channels, dedicated boards are used in the XLR outputs, the main cinch outputs, and the

left over channels. Four separate audio boards are used in total, with only the best components used.

In the power supply section, the choke inpu t topology is adopted to drastically

reduce rectier harmonic noise and to reduce the inuence of distortion from

the mains power network. This system is especially suitable for a c ontrol

amplier in which ver y small signal amplication occurs.

SHOTTKY DIODES

A Shot tky diode is a special type of diode with a ver y low forward-volt age

drop compared to normal diodes. This lower voltage drop translates into

higher s ystem efciency.

Shot tky diodes have very f ast signal handling, can easily stay higher

temperat ures and are sensitive very low voltages.

LINEA R VOLUME CONTROL

Linear volume control offers minimal cross talk with a very precise volume

adjustment over a r ange from 0 dB to 100 dB w ith a gang error less than +/-

0.5 dB.

FILTERING

Some audio companies focus on sound modication b y selecting and

customising electric al components for the analogue par t of the player but they

have only limited knowledge of digital ltering an d have to use standard

solutions – which Marantz believes to be sub-st andard for a genuine

audiop hile player. Tha t’s why Marantz has invested extensiv ely in gaining

expert knowledge into this crucial part of a CD player during CD playback.

The Marant z Digital Filt er eliminates out-of-band noise, reﬂecting into a better

S/N ratio, dynamic r ange, and various ot her charac teristics. There is no group

delay, and the player of fers ﬂat frequency character istics. Filters of three

types are prov ided, and because each affords a distinctive sound, users can

switch to t he desired lter for playback suiting the disc or their listening mood.

The Giant Magnetic Resis tor is a t echnolog y compare able wit h an optical

coupler, makes it possible to separate two section of a product galvanic.

The GMR outperforms the optic al coupler when it comes to high fr equencies.

In developing the SC11S1 Marantz engineers took as much as possible from the Reference Series SC7S2. For

example, the full balanced layout in-current feedback technology was applied, guaranteeing excellent signal

The PM6003 replaces the much-praised PM6002, the last amplifier to be upgraded to the new M1 Reference Design

st yle. But it’s not just the outward aesthetics that have been improved; Marantz took this upgrade oppor tunity to

further improve this already excellent amp by refining the sound and optimising the balance from bass to mid to

highs for a performance full of harmony. The new lower impedance Toroidal transformer shielded with case, was

also matched to the new main capacitors, which again have been aligned to the new type of power transistor,

The solid chassis is further strengthened by an additional metal bottom-plate, which further reduces unwanted

input is derived from the SA8003 and features an iPod digital connection. The stable, oversized power supply feeds

the digital and analogue circuitry of the player, where the high quality CS4398 converts digital signals into
