This manual applies to the 4700 printer with two printheads, either of them printing
a separate job. The user interface is similar for the 4700 printer with one printhead
or with two printheads printing one job.

Purging/venting selected printhead
Cleaning nozzle plate
Shut down
the printer.
Start up the printer.
Use only Markem-Imaje consumables designated for use with
the 4700.
Put absorbent material or a waste container under
the nozzle outlet for the selected printhead. Make sure
the cleaner/ink dripping from the nozzle plate during
purging does not contaminate the printer environment.
Hold the (Purge) button on
the backplate of the selected
printhead.
The purge time is limited in
such a way that the sum of all
purging cycles performed within
one minute must not exceed
30 seconds.

Ink canister replacement
Replace the canister when the blinking orange icon is
displayed (indicating that the ink canister is empty).

the ink contained in an ink system buffer;
