3 Your product
3.1 Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of the Marmitek Split 612 UHD 2.0™!
This active HDMI splitter connects 2 TVs or projectors with a single HDMI source.
Unlike passive HDMI splitters, it can do this without any loss of signal or
encryption, while maintaining optimal image quality. It's also ideal for use with
HDMI Extenders, for example, to another room. The Split 612 UHD 2.0™ supports
Ultra HD (4k), Full HD (1080p) and all 3D formats, making it suitable for all your
existing and future equipment.
All our products are designed and manufactured to the highest quality
requirements. Please read this manual first and follow the instructions in order to
fully enjoy the possibilities of this product.
3.2 Benefits
xAllows video and audio from your digital TV decoder, satellite receiver, game
console or Blu-ray player to be simultaneously displayed on 2 TVs or
projectors.
xEnjoy the latest Ultra HD content and watch Netflix or a Blu-ray movie in 4K,
while maintaining ultimate contrast and beautiful colours.
xEliminates the need to change HDMI cables if you want to watch films or play
games on another TV.
xWith built-in repeater and equaliser to correct any signal loss.
xIf required, set the HDMI output's maximum video resolution using the unique
EDID switch.
xSupports HDCP 2.2 for playing protected 4K Ultra HD content
3.3 HDMI properties
xThe maximum throughput speed is 18 Gbit/s (gigabits per second). This
allows HDMI 2.0 to display Ultra HD 4K images at 60 fps (frames per second).
xSuitable for the latest Ultra HD 4K60 resolution (3840 x 2160 / 60Hz), High
Dynamic Range (HDR), Deep Color and 4:4:4 chroma colours.
xSupports all 3D formats (suitable for use with your own 3D equipment)
xDeep Color 36-bit (billions instead of millions of colours, better reproduction of
subtle differences in gradation and a higher contrast ratio).

4 Getting started
4.1 Before installation:
xTurn off all devices (TV and HDMI sources) before connecting them to the
Split 612 UHD 2.0™. If a device cannot be turned off, please remove the plug
from the socket.
xOnly use High Speed HDMI® certified cables for the best picture and sound
quality. Using too much force to connect or disconnect the HDMI cables may
damage them.
xPlease be careful when connecting your HDMI cables. These damage easily.
4.2 Installation
1 Use an HDMI cable to connect the HDMI source (such as a game console,
Blu-ray player or digital TV decoder) to the HDMI port marked "Input".
2 Use an HDMI cable to connect the TV or projector to the HDMI ports marked
“Output”.
3 Preferably, connect the TV or projector with the highest resolution (e.g.
UltraHD) to "Output 1" and those with a lower resolution (e.g. Full HD) to
"Output 2".
4 Connect the power adapter to the "DC 5V" input and insert the plug into the
socket.

5 Use
5.1 EDID
EDID stands for Extended Display Identification Data and is used for
communication between HDMI sources and TVs, enabling you to determine the
supported display resolutions and audio formats. The HDMI source requests this
information from the TV and determines the best resolution or audio format. When
using multiple TVs (TVs or projectors), the best resolution and audio format that is
supported by all connected TVs is determined.
This may cause problems in some situations, for example, when one of the
connected sources or TVs does not fully support EDID.
5.2 EDID Auto or Copy 1
Use the EDID button to choose the following options:
xAUTO: automatically detects the highest possible common image resolution
and audio format that is supported by both TVs. Sound and image will be
displayed on both TVs.
xCOPY 1: only detects the resolution and audio format of the display
connected to "Output 1". This prevents problems with playing, for example,
3D or UltraHD (4k).
Tip: In standard situations, always use the automatic setting, which will result in
sound and image on all connected TVs. With manual settings, no image or sound
may be displayed on one or more TVs if the appropriate setting is not supported

No (or poor) image and sound
If you experience poor or no picture after connecting the HDMI splitter, please try to
identify the problem by connecting the devices to your TV, monitor or projector one
by one. This allows you to determine whether the problem is with the HDMI
sources, the HDMI cables, the HDMI splitter or the TV.
xMake sure the power adapter is connected and plugged in.
xFor the best picture and sound quality, only use High Speed HDMI® certified
cables.
xDo not use HDMI cables longer than those specified in the technical data.
xCheck the HDMI cables and/or connectors for damage.
xBoth the HDMI source and your TV should fully support HDMI.
xCheck that your HDMI sources and TV support HDCP 2.2 (High Bandwidth
Digital Content Protection) copy protection.
Incorrect 3D display
xPlease check whether the HDMI source is set to display 3D and/or it is set to
automatic.
xBoth the HDMI source and your HDTV should support the same 3D formats.
xPlease check that 3D is displayed correctly by connecting the HDMI source
directly to the HD display with an HDMI cable.

3.1 Einführung
Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Erwerb Ihres Marmitek Split 612 UHD 2.0™!
Dieser aktive HDMI Splitter verbindet 2 Bildschirme (TV oder Projektor) mit einer
HDMI Quelle. Im Gegensatz zu passiven HDMI Splittern geschieht dies ohne jeglichen
Signal- oder Verschlüsselungsverlust und unter Beibehaltung optimaler Bildqualität.
Auch ideal für die Verwendung kombiniert mit HDMI Verlängerungen (z.B. in einen
anderen Raum). Der Split 612 UHD 2.0™ unterstützt Ultra HD (4k), Full HD (1080p)
und alle 3D Formate und eignet sich somit für alle heutigen und zukünftigen Geräte.
Alle von Marmitek entwickelten und hergestellten Produkte entsprechen den höchsten
Qualitätsanforderungen. Lesen Sie diese Anleitung bitte sorgfältig durch und befolgen
Sie die Anweisungen, um die Möglichkeiten dieses Produkts optimal nutzen zu
können.
3.2 Vorzüge
xProfitieren Sie von den neuesten Ultra HD Inhalten und sehen Sie Netflix oder
Blu-Ray Filme in 4K auf 2 Fernsehern oder Projektoren ohne jeglichen
Kontrastverlust und in wunderbaren Farben.
xDas HDMI Kabel muss nicht mehr ausgetauscht werden, wenn Sie Filme sehen
oder Spiele auf einem anderen Bildschirm spielen möchten.

4 Los geht’s
4.1 Bevor Sie beginnen
xSchalten Sie alle Geräte (Fernseher und HDMI Quellen) bevor Sie diese an den
Split 612 UHD 2.0™ anschließen zunächst aus. Entfernen Sie den Stecker aus
der Steckdose, falls diese nicht ausgeschaltet werden können.
xVerwenden Sie zum Erhalt einer optimalen Bild- und Tonqualität ausschließlich
High Speed HDMI® zertifizierte Kabel. Verwenden Sie wenig Kraft, um die HDMI
Kabel anzuschließen oder loszukoppeln; diese könnten sonst beschädigen.
xLassen Sie während des Anschließens Ihrer HDMI Kabel Vorsicht walten. Diese
können schnell beschädigen.
4.2 Installation
1. Schließen Sie die HDMI Quelle (wie Spielkonsole, Blu-Ray Player oder digitalen
TV Decoder) mit einem HDMI Kabel an den HDMI Anschluss mit der Aufschrift
“Input“ an.
2. Schließen Sie Fernseher oder Projektoren mit einem HDMI Kabel an den HDMI
Anschluss mit der Aufschrift “Output“ an.
3. Schließen Sie vorzugsweise den Fernseher oder Projektor mit der höchsten
Auflösung (z.B. Utra HD) an den “Output 1" und mit einer geringeren Auflösung
(z.B. Full HD) an den “Output 2“ Anschluss an.
4. Schließen Sie den Speisungsadapter an den “DC 5V“ Eingang an und verbinden
Sie diesen mit der Steckdose.

5 Verwendung
5.1 EDID
EDID bedeutet Extended Display Identification Data und wird für die Kommunikation
zwischen HDMI Quellen und Bildschirmen verwendet, um die unterstützten
Bildauflösungen und Audioformate zu bestimmen. Die HDMI Quelle ruft diese
Informationen vom Bildschirm ab und bestimmt die beste Auflösung oder das beste
Audioformat. Bei Verwendung mehrerer Bildschirme (Fernseher oder Projektoren)
wird bestimmt, welche die beste Auflösung oder das beste Audioformat ist, .die von
allen angeschlossenen Bildschirmen unterstützt wird.
Das kann bisweilen zu Problemen führen, beispielsweise wenn eine der
angeschlossenen Quellen oder Bildschirme EDID nicht korrekt unterstützt.
5.2 EDID Auto oder Copy 1
Mithilfe der EDID-Tate können Sie folgende Einstellungen wählen:
xAUTO: Sucht automatisch die höchstmögliche, gemeinschaftliche Bildauflösung
und das Audioformat, das von beiden Bildschirmen unterstützt wird. Auf beiden
Bildschirmen wird Bild und Ton wiedergegeben werden.
xCOPY 1: Sucht nur die Auflösung und das Audioformat des Bildschirms, das an
den “Output 1“ angeschlossen ist. Damit begegnen Sie Abspielproblemen von
zum Beispiel 3D oder UltraHD (4k).
Tipp: Verwenden Sie in Standardsituationen immer die Einstellung Automatisch. Auf
allen angeschlossenen Bildschirmen wird Bild und Ton wiedergegeben werden. Bei
manueller Einstellung kann es passieren, dass Sie auf 1. oder mehreren Bildschirmen
kein Bild oder keinen Ton empfangen, wenn die Einstellung nicht unterstützt wird.

7 Häufig gestellte Fragen (FAQs)
Kein (oder schlechtes) Bild und Ton
Wenn Sie nach dem Anschließen des HDMI Switch kein, oder ein schlechtes Bild
empfangen, versuchen Sie dann die Geräte Stück für Stück an Ihren Schirm
anzuschließen (TV, Monitor oder Projektor), um zu sehen, wo das Problem liegt. Auf
diese Art können Sie ermitteln ob es an den HDMI Quellen, den HDMI Kabeln, dem
HDMI Switch oder dem Schirm liegt.
xÜberprüfen Sie, ob der Speisungsadaptor angeschlossen ist und sich in der
Steckdose befindet.
xVerwenden Sie zum Erhalt einer optimalen Bild- und Tonqualität ausschließlich
High Speed HDMI® zertifizierte Kabel.
xVerwenden Sie keine HDMI Kabel, die länger sind als in den technischen Daten
aufgeführt.
xÜberprüfen Sie die HDMI Kabel und/oder Anschlüsse auf Beschädigungen.
xSowohl die HDMI Quelle wie Ihr Bildschirm muss HDMI vollständig unterstützen.
xPrüfen Sie, ob Ihre HDMI Quellen und Bildschirm das Verschlüsselungssystem

Keine korrekte 3D Wiedergabe
xÜberprüfen Sie, ob die HDMI Quelle auf 3D Wiedergabe eingestellt und/oder ob
diese auf automatisch eingestellt ist.
xSowohl die HDMI Quelle wie Ihr HD Bildschirm müssen dieselben 3D Daten
unterstützen.
xÜberprüfen Sie, ob 3D korrekt wiedergegeben wird, indem Sie die HDMI Quelle
mit einem HDMI Kabel direkt an den HD Bildschirm anschließen.

8.2 Recycling
Umweltinformation für Kunden innerhalb der Europäischen Union
Die Europäische Richtlinie 2002/96/EC verlangt, dass technische Ausrüstung, die direkt am
Gerät und/oder an der Verpackung mit diesem Symbol versehen ist nicht zusammen mit
unsortiertem Gemeindeabfall entsorgt werden darf. Das Symbol weist darauf hin, dass das
Produkt von regulärem Haushaltmüll getrennt entsorgt werden sollte. Es liegt in Ihrer
Verantwortung, dieses Gerät und andere elektrische und elektronische Geräte über die dafür
zuständigen und von der Regierung oder örtlichen Behörden dazu bestimmten Sammelstellen zu
entsorgen. Ordnungsgemäßes Entsorgen und Recyceln trägt dazu bei, potentielle negative Folgen
für Umwelt und die menschliche Gesundheit zu vermeiden. Wenn Sie weitere Informationen zur
Entsorgung Ihrer Altgeräte benötigen, wenden Sie sich bitte an die örtlichen Behörden oder
