Thank you for purchasing this Marsden FT3010 Non-Contact Forehead Infrared
Thermometer. This thermometer can be used by medical professionals, at home or in
workplaces. To ensure accurate use of this Infrared Thermometer, please read this user
manual before use and keep to hand for future reference.
Declaration of Conformity
● This device fulfils the provisions of EC directive 93/42/EEC (Medical Device
Directive).
● This forehead thermometer meets requirements established in ASTM Standard
E1965-98(2009). Full responsibility for the conformance of this product to the
standard is assumed by Zhongshan Jinli Electronic Weighing Equipment Co.,
Ltd, 283rd South Min’an Road Xiaolan Town, Zhongshan Ctiy, Guangdong China
● This device has been tested and homologated in accordance with EN60601-1-
2:2015 for EMC. This does not guarantee in any way that the device will not be
affected by electromagnetic interference. Avoid using the device in high
electromagnetic environment.

Important Safety Instructions
Before using this device, please read the following instructions with care.
Batteries
Never mix old and new batteries and avoid mixing brand/battery types.
Remove the batteries if the device has not been used for three months, or is
not intended to be used for at least three months.
Disposal
This device should not be treated as regular household or business waste, but
should be handed in to an electrical/electronic equipment centre. Disposal of
this device should be in accordance with national regulations.
Please set + and – correctly.
General Guidance
The use of this thermometer is not intended as a substitute for consulting with
a doctor
Do not expose the device to water or direct sunlight.
Do not expose the device to extreme temperature e.g.>50ºC or <-20ºC.
Please contact the manufacturer should you require further advice and
guidance on how to use and maintain this device.
Do not modify the device in any way.
Do not disassemble the device or attempt the repair it.
Portable and mobile RF communication equipment can affect this
thermometer.
Do not use a mobile phone or other portable devices that emit electromagnetic
fields near the device. This may result in inaccurate readings.
Care and Maintenance
• The protective glass over the lens is the most important and fragile part of the
thermometer, ensure that this is well maintained.
• The Infrared Sensor is the most precise part, ensure that this is well
maintained.

• Clean and disinfect the device with alcohol based wipes.
• Do not clean the device with corrosive detergent.
• Keep the device in a dry environment and keep it away from dust and direct
sunlight.
• Ensure that the device is not exposed to liquids.
• If the infrared sensor becomes dirty, lightly wipe it with a soft dry cloth.
• It is recommended that the device is recalibrated at least every 12 months.

Intended Use
This FT3010 Non-Contact Thermometer is designed for body surface and forehead
temperature measurement for infant and adults without contact to the human body.
The forehead thermometer can also be used to measure the temperature of a baby’s
bottle, bath and room temperature (by using the surface mode).

The temperature of the human body can vary throughout the day. It can also be
influenced by numerous external factors.

Attention: ASTM laboratory accuracy requirements in the display of 37 to 39℃(98 to
102℉) for Skin IR thermometers is ±0.3℃(± 0.5℉) ,whereas for mercury in-glass
and electronic thermometers, the requirement per ASTM Standards E667-86 and
1112-86 is ±0.1℃(± 0.2℉)
Marsden will make available upon request specific instructions for tests to determine
the laboratory error, clinical bias and clinical repeatability.

Keep pressing “SET” key and hold for 3 seconds into the setting mode.

Enter into setting mode, the LCD displays “F1”, press “+” key to select “℉” unit, press
“-”key to select “℃” unit.

display “ F3”, then press “+” key to increase the setting value 0.1 ℃(0.1℉), press “-”

Sound notification setting
Enter into setting mode, press “SET” key four times, the LCD display “ F4”, then press
“+” key to turn on the sound notification function, press “-”key to turn off the sound
notification function.
Backlight setting

Enter into setting mode, press “SET” key five times, the LCD display “ F5”, then press
“+” key to turn on the backlight function, press “-” key to turn offthe backlight
function.
Exit setting mode
Press “SET” key until shutdown.
Instructions for Re-calibration
For stable and reliable results, it is essential to check the forehead thermometer and
change as needed, as follows:
• Take the temperature of the same person using a conventional thermometer;
you will get 37.0℃$(98.6℉) for instance.
• Take the temperature of the same person using the forehead thermometer
keeping the 50 to 150 mm distance between the thermometer and the
forehead (Take care to remove any obstacle which could alter the
measurement (hair, perspiration…). If you get 37.0 ℃(98.6 ℉), the Non-
contact body infrared Thermometer is properly set and ready for use.
• If you get a lower temperature, 36.4℃$(97.4℉) for example, your difference is
0.6℃(1.2℉), you should adjust the temperature on the forehead

• To do it, press the “SET “button for 3 seconds, the screen displays F1, press
“SET “button again until you get F3, press “+”button in order to add the
difference (in our example, 0.6℃( 1.2℉)
• 8.3.3 To check, take the temperature again using the Non-contact body
infrared Thermometer.
Caution
:
This setting applies only to Body mode.
Temperature Measurement
• Hold the forehead thermometer, with one finger over the
‘trigger’ button.
• Direct the thermometer’s infrared sensor at the person’s
forehead, leaving a distance of 30 - 50mm between the
thermometer and the forehead.
• Press the button, and the thermometer will start up
automatically and display the measurement result, as
shown in the image on the right.

• Wireless communications equipment such as wireless home network devices,

device and should be kept at least 3.3 metres away from the device.
