1 Introduction
1-1 Greeting
Thank you so much for purchasing our company's PSS2en.
Our company makes assurance doubly sure on the quality management of products. To bring out the
performance sufficiently and use the product safely, handle the product properly following this
document.
We have applied our best to prepare this instruction manual, but if you find any unclear points, errors,
and missing contents, contact us.

2-1 Summary of PSS2en
PSS2en is the dedicated software for sequence operation and controlling directly of equipment made
by Matsusada Precision Inc. shown below. And, it’s also possible monitoring of data in the sequence
operation and the direct control. PSS2en is selected the below shown operation.
・Direct control operation
It’s possible to control directly the output ON/OFF and setting value to output of a power
supply. And, it’s also possible monitoring of data.
(Refer to Chapter 6 about the detail of direct control operation.)
・Sequence operation
In advance to set the sequence conditions, it’s possible to be sequence operation the
power supply according to its conditions. During sequence operation, it’s not possible
to change its conditions.

2-3 Licensing provisions of PSS2en
When you use the software created by Matsusada Precision Inc. (hereafter, "First Party"), please
agree to the following provisions. If you do not agree to them, you have to delete this software from
your PC immediately.
1. This contract becomes effective when a customer starts using the product.
2. The copyright related to this software is possessed by First Party.
3. A customer can use this software only for a customer's job-related purpose by the customer only.
4. The software and the included document cannot be copied, modified, or quoted without obtaining
a written consent of First Party in advance.
5. First Party does not accept any responsibility on effect caused by use of this software by a
customer. If a loss is generated for a customer by using this software, the customer cannot seek
damages from First Party.
6. If a customer acts contrary to this provision or there is an important reason First Party cannot
continue this contract, First Party can release the licensing immediately.
7. First Party can change all specifications related to this software without prior notification. First
Party does not implement any guarantee related to this software.

3-1 Operating environment of PSS2en
OS
Windows 10(32/64bit), Windows 8.1(32/64bit), Windows 8(32/64bit),
Windows 7(32/64bit)
It needs to install .Net Framework 4.0 or higher grade.
Both Japanese and English can be used for the OS language.
However, note that the display language in the control software of
PSS2en is Japanese only regardless of the OS language setting.

(*3) When purchasing multiple PSS2en models at one time, you can use a USB key for
performing each operation.
(*4) As of certain models of our supported products, they may not work properly under some
versions of Firmware.
(*5) Do not cut the power supply of any hardware or PC or pull out the plug of communication
cable during communication with the hardware．And, PCs enter hibernation/sleep state,
communications may stop.
(*6) The said environment does not guarantee proper operation.
3-1-1 Windows system setting notes
Pay attention to the following points regarding Windows system setting in order to use PSS2en
stably.
Set the power saving mode and screen saver of Windows to OFF. If Windows goes to
sleep or hibernate, communications may stop.
Set the enlarged display setting of the monitor to 100%. With settings other than 100%,
PSS2en may not be displayed correctly.
When starting PSS2en, avoid using with other applications. Also, disable Task
Scheduler.
Operation of PSS2en may be disturbed depending on compatibility of anti - virus software
and Windows security status.
Operation of PSS2en may be disturbed due to system update etc.
Therefore, make sure to create restore points when updating the system. If an error
occurs in the operation of the PSS2en after the update, restore the system and return
Windows to the state where the PSS2en could be used.

3-2 Setup of communication environment
By option and communication adapter to be used, it depends on the setup of the device driver.
The following table as a reference performs the setup that is suitable for communication environment
to use PSS2en.

3-2-1 When RS-232C port is used with -LGob option
(1) Connect CO-OPT2-9 to RS-232C port of PC.
(2) Connect CO-OPT2-9 and the power supply with the optical fiber cable.
(3) Set the communication method of RS-232C port. (Refer to [3-2-4 Port setting])
Caution
Please use CO-OPT2-9 connecting an AC adapter.

3-2-2 When USB port is used with -LGob option
If PC is not equipped with RS-232C port, it is necessary to set USB port as a virtual COM port.
There are 2 methods.
(A) Using CO-OPT2-9 and USB/RS-232C conversion cable
(1) Connect PC and CO-OPT2-9 with USB/RS-232C conversion cable.
(2) Setup the device driver of the USB/RS-232C conversion cable.
(Refer to its manual for the detail of the setup.)
(3) Connect CO-OPT2-9 and the power supply with the optical fiber cable.
(4) Set the communication method of a virtual COM port. (Refer to [3-2-4 Port setting])
(B) Using CO-U32 as communication adapter
(1) Connect PC and USB-OPT with USB cable.
(2) Setup the USB driver made by Matsusada Precision Inc.

(3) Connect USB-OPT and the power supply with the optical fiber cable.
(4) Set the communication method of a virtual COM port. (Refer to [3-2-4 Port setting].)

3-2-3 Setup the USB driver made by Matsusada Precision Inc.
When using USB-OPT as the communication adapter, it is necessary to set up the USB driver made
by Matsusada Precision Inc.
Install the USB driver according to the USB driver instruction manual included in the CD-COM and
confirm that each device is recognized as a virtual COM port.
(When using PSS2en, please use "Virtual COM port version" of USB driver)
3-2-4 Port setting
At the connection, pay attention to the following points. If these items are not set properly, PSS2en
may not operate.

3-3 Software setup
This section describes how to install PSS2en. Please follow the steps below to install it.
3-3-1 Connection of USB key
The USB key has a license corresponding to each model.
By connecting the USB key to your PC, PSS2en can control the power supply and the electric load
corresponding to the license. Keep the USB key inserted in the computer when in PSS2en use.
If the red LED of the USB key lights up, then the USB key is recognized.
(*) If the PSS2en version is “1.21.0”or later, the following steps are unnecessary.
If the PSS2en version is earlier than “1.21.0”, you need to install the USB key driver.
1. Insert the CD-ROM of PSS2en.
2. Execute HASPUserSetup.exe in [Sentinel_LDK_Run-time_setup] folder.
3. Promote the installation following the displayed instructions.

The installation procedure differs by OS or PC environment. Proceed with the installation according
to the details displayed by the installer.
1. Insert PSS2en CD-ROM to the drive.
2. Execute “PSS2en-Setup-setup v*.*.*.exe” in [PSS2en] folder.
3. If necessary component is not installed, install the necessary components according to the
instructions.
・For Windows 11, 10, 8.1 and 8
.NET Framework 4.5 or 4.6 is preinstalled. If you uninstalled the component, please install it.
・For Windows 7
.NET Framework 4.5 must be installed.

4. Proceed with PSS2en installation according to the instruction displayed.
Note:
(*8) Take a backup of the program and data when re-installation or version upgrade. We shall
not take any responsibility of whatsoever in case of trouble or damage occurred on the data,
during the re-installation or version upgrade.

3-4 Other setups
The section describes equipment other than power supply units manufactured by Matsusada
Precision.
3-4-1 Recommended commercially-available USB/RS-232C conversion cable
USB/RS-232C conversion cables for which operation has been checked are shown below.
(The operation is not guaranteed)

3-4-2 Use of temperature chamber
If a temperature chamber is used, your PC requires the setup for communicating with a temperature
chamber.
For the setup of a temperature chamber, refer to the instruction manual of the temperature chamber.

4-1 Operation procedure of PSS2en
PSS2en is operated by the following three procedures.
(1) Edit the test condition
(2) Run the test
(3) Check the test data
The windows of PSS2en are available for each of the procedures. Both direct control operation and
sequence operation is operated by the same procedures.
4-2 Window constitution
PSS2en consists of the following five windows.
・File Window
The test condition is opened and saved. The log data is opened and saved.
・Edit window
The test condition of the sequence is edit. (An above procedure (1))
・Run window
The test condition edited at “Edit window”is run. (An above procedure (2))
・Data window
The result data at “Run window”is browsed. (An above procedure (3))
・Help window
Its manual and its version are browsed.
4-3 Group
You can operate some power supplies all together. The minimum unit to operate all together is called
“group”in PSS2en.
This specification of “Group”is shown below.
・The operation (direct control or sequence) for each group can be set.
・Up to 16 groups can be set.
・Up to 32 power supplies can be connected at 1 group.
・Some communication ports can be selected at 1 group.
・A test condition of 16 groups can be saved together.
・A log data of 16 groups can be saved together.

4-4 Test condition
The test condition is configured as a tree menu, have summarized the 16 groups.
(1) Test Condition
The test condition name and the number of groups are set.
(2) Group n [n = 1 to 16]
The operation of this group is set.
(3) Instruments Settings
The connection of power supplies operated in this group is set.
And, in case of sequence operation, the protection of power
supplies is set.
(4) Temperature chamber (Sequence operation only)
The temperature chamber operated in this group is set.
(5) Sequence (Sequence operation only)
The number of sequence program in this group is set.
And, the record method of the data is set.
(6) Sequence n [n = 1 to 16] (Sequence operation only)
The detail of each sequence is set.
(*) A test condition is accepted to direct control operation.
4-5 Setting error of test condition
An item with (!) mark shown in the figure below is a necessary item or treated as an input error. if you
place a mouse cursor on (!) mark, a ward of caution is displayed. Input the item according to this
content.

4-6 Log data
The log data is also configured as a tree structure as the same as the test conditions. The data are
generated for each group and are summarized for 16 groups.
4-7 Record method of the log data
PSS2en is selected from “Delta time”, “Delta voltage”and “Delta current”as record method.
oDelta time [s]
Set the time interval for recording the data. The minimum value is 0.5 seconds.
If the time interval is short, the amount of data becomes very large (if the required time of
the sequence is one hour and the delta time is one second, the data count becomes 7200).
Set the delta time considering required time of sequence and data count.
The time that can be set varies depending on the number of power supplies used on the
same group. The time that can be set per unit is 0.25 seconds (*). The time 0.5 or less is
rounded out.
Example of settable shortest time 1 unit 0.5 seconds
2 units 0.5 seconds
4 units 1 second
5 units 1.5 seconds
9 units 2.5 seconds
* In case of daisy-chain connection
oDelta voltage [V] (Sequence operation only)
If the voltage changes for more than setting value, the data is recorded.
oDelta current [A] (Sequence operation only)
If the current changes for more than setting value, the data is recorded.
(*) “The time that can be set per unit is 0.25 seconds.”is not a guaranteed value.
By the selected model, use environment and connection state, communication time
required per one might more than 0.25 seconds. In this case, adjust the delta time.
