Message to Parents
Thank you for choosing BARBIE™Adjustable In-Line Skates
for your child. We hope they will provide many hours of fun
and exercise. Please supervise the beginner skater. Hold the
beginner’s hand and guide the new skater along a smooth,
level surface. Please take a moment to review the following
safety tips with your skater:
• Wear shoes or sneakers that provide good support, not
open-toe shoes.
• Wear a helmet, knee pads, wrist guards and elbow pads to
guard against bumps and bruises.
• Keep loose laces and pant legs away from the wheels.
• Choose areas for skating which are free of obstacles.
• Avoid skating on streets, roadways and driveways which
enter vehicle traffic routes.
• Never hitch a ride behind a bicycle or car.
Wheel Control Adjustment
Wheel Control Switch
• Locate the wheel control switch on the side of the skate.
• Press and slide the wheel control switch to:
1 Full Stop - Walk
- The front wheel locks so your skater can walk on the

- Your skater can roll forward but the front wheel locks
to prevent rolling backwards. You will hear a clicking
sound when skating. This is normal.
3 Free Wheeling
- Your skater rolls forward and backward unrestricted.
Please Note: Check to be sure both skates are set to the
same wheel control position.
Rear Wheel Adjustment
• Adjust the rear wheels by turning the rear wheel adjustment
dial to:
A - the rear wheels spread apart (for the beginner skater),
B - the rear wheels move together (in-line, for the more
experienced skater).
