Thecontrol panelofthe SpinePro has one buttontoselect the differentmodes.The control
panel also has a number of indicators to display the operation mode and to display if a jam
occurs.

Inorder to produce optimum book qualitytheSpine Pro unitopera-
tesin 3 different modes depending on the thickness of the book.
Selectmode by pressing the mode selectbutton.
Mode selection guide lines
• Mode 1 for 6–10 sheets (80 gsm or 20 lb bond stock)
• Mode 2 for 11–15 sheets (80 gsm or 20 lb bond stock)
• Mode 3 for 16 or more (80 gsm or 20 lb bond stock)

3.1 Square fold booklets
Description
TheSpinePro takesyour normal bookletsandmakes them look more like perfect bound
(gluebound) books. The outputlaysflat for easy packingandyou are also abletoprinton the
back(spine) of the book for easy retrieval in bookshelves.The SpinePro runs up to 1800
sets/ hour depending on which modethatis selected.
TheSpineProis equipped with a stacker full sensor. In mode 1 and
2,stacker full signal appears 30 bookletsafterthestacker full sensor
hasbeen blocked. In mode 3 andBypass,stackerfull signal
appears20 booklets after the stacker full sensor has been blocked.
Wheneverthe booksareremoved the countstarts from zeroagain.If
thestacker fullfunctionis not desired,disconnect the stackerfullplug
fromits receptacle.

Formingthespinesquare is not adviseable for booklets containing 5
sheetsor less.
Selectbypass mode when making booklets withlessthan 6 sheets,
orwhenno forming of the spine is desired.

3.4 Operating the Spine Pro
1. Switchonthe Main PowerSwitch.
2. Place afinishedbookletonthe stacker.Adjustthe stackerby
liftingup rear end and moveitin/outwards to fit the booklet.
3. Select mode according to section 3.1/3.2. The Spine Pro is
nowset up to receive bookletsdeliveredfromtheTrimmer or
fedbyhand.

4. Adjustthemanual feed tray sideguideto the width of the
booklet.
5. Placethebooklet onthemanual feed trayandgently push itin
(spinefirst). Thefeedbelts energizeautomaticallyand pulls
thebooklet into the Spine Pro. WhenthebookexitstheSpine
Pro,the next booklet can be fed into the SpinePro.

1. Open topcover,liftup both infeed beltsand takeout thejammedbooklets.
2. Place feed beltsin their normal position and close the top cover.

Clean the feed belts using a mild soap detergent every 10,000 sets or earlier if needed.
