Verwendungszweck
Die vorliegende „Hot“ Biopsiezange dient der Entfernung von Polypen und zur
Koagulation vorhandener Läsionen mittels Hochfrequenzstrom. Weiterhin kann sie
zur endoskopischen Gewebeentnahme im Rahmen von histologischen Unter-
suchungen verwendet werden.
Warnung !
Der Benutzer dieses Produktes sollte in dieser Untersuchungsdisziplin Erfahrung
haben. Weiterhin ist es wichtig, die Gebrauchsanleitung sorgfältig zu lesen und zu
befolgen. Eine Nichtbeachtung kann ernste Verletzungen des Patienten und/oder
des Benutzers zur Folge haben. Es ist notwendig, diese Anleitung zu befolgen,
ebenso wie Anweisungen in anderen Gebrauchsanleitungen und kranken-
hausinternen Vorschriften zur Infektionsvermeidung, Anwendung, Reinigung und
Sterilisation. Mögliche Verletzungen im Zusammenhang mit endoskopischen
Untersuchungen können sein: Perforationen, elektrische Verbrennungen und
Schocks, Blutungen, Infektionen, Explosionen, etc.
! Nichtbeachtung dieser Instruktionen kann auch Beschädigungen und/oder
Fehlfunktionen des Instruments oder Endoskops zur Folge haben.
Lagerung
Lagern Sie das Produkt bei einer Temperatur von 5°C – 30°C und einer Luft-
feuchtigkeit von 30 – 60%. Schützen Sie es vor direkter Sonneneinstrahlung und
Feuchtigkeit, sowie vor chemischen Dämpfen.
Allgemeine Sicherheitsvorschriften
Das Tragen von Schutzkleidung (Handschuhe, Schutzbrille, Kittel usw.) ist
unbedingt erforderlich!
Verwenden Sie keine defekten Geräte! Bei auftretenden Defekten, Gerät entsor-
gen und durch ein neues ersetzen.
Abgleich der technischen Daten des Produktes mit denen des verwendeten
Endoskops. Der Arbeitskanaldurchmesser muss mindestens 0,2 mm größer als
der Außendurchmesser des Instrumentes sein.
! Niemals das Instrument außerhalb der empfohlenen technischen Spezifikationen
verwenden.
Führen Sie nie Geräte mit Gewalt in den Arbeitskanal ein.
Manipulieren Sie niemals an den baulichen Gegebenheiten des Gerätes; brechen
Sie bei einer Fehlfunktion den Einsatz ab.
Überprüfen Sie gegebenenfalls das HF-Kabel auf Risse und/oder Beschädigun-
gen der Isolation.

Arbeitsvorbereitung und Test
Prüfung der Unversehrtheit der Verpackung (Wahrung der Sterilität).
! Falls Verpackung beschädigt, gegen ein neues Instrument austauschen.
Kontrolle des Verfalldatums.
! Keinesfalls beschädigte Verpackungen oder Produkte mit abgelaufenem
Verfalldatum verwenden.
Überprüfen Sie die „Hot“ Biopsiezange vor jeder Untersuchung auf sichere
Funktion des Öffnungs- und Schließvorganges. Wickeln Sie dazu das Instrument
mit einem Durchmesser von ca. 12 cm auf und prüfen Sie, ob sich der
Zangenkopf öffnen und schließen lässt.
! Sollten Sie Unregelmäßigkeiten oder beschädigte Kabel feststellen, dann
tauschen Sie die Instrumente gegen Neue aus.
Entfernen Sie die Schutzkappe des HF – Anschlusses der „Hot“ Biopsiezange
und schließen Sie ausschließlich ein Olympus kompatibles Hochfrequenzkabel an
den Griff der „Hot“ Biopsiezange an. Das andere Ende verbinden Sie mit Ihrem
Hochfrequenz – Generator und befolgen Sie die Gebrauchsanleitung des
Generatorenherstellers in Bezug auf Schneide- und Koagulationsmodus sowie
die Erdung.
! Nicht Olympus kompatible Anschlüsse der Hochfrequenzkabel, Griff seitig,
können zu fehlerhafter Funktion des Instruments führen.
Anwendung
Führen Sie die geschlossene Zange langsam und vorsichtig in den Arbeitskanal
des Endoskops ein, bis die Zange am distalen Ende des Endoskops austritt.
! Wenn die Zange beim Vorschieben durch den abgewinkelten Teil des Endoskops
auf Widerstand stößt, ist die Abwinkelung so weit wie möglich zu verringern.
Um einen Polypen zu entfernen, öffnen Sie die Zange durch Vorschieben des
Fingerschlittens, fassen das Gewebe, schließen die Zange durch Zug am
Fingerschlitten und applizieren kurze Stromstöße.
! Bitte vermeiden Sie unbedingt den Kontakt von Strom führenden Instrumenten-
komponenten, wie die Löffel bei der „Hot”–Biopsiezange bei angelegtem
Hochfrequenzstrom mit den metallischen Teilen des Endoskoparbeits-
kanalauslasses. Der Kontakt kann zu Kurzschluss, Deformierungen und
Beschädigungen am Instrument führen.

Zur Gewebeentnahme öffnen Sie die Zangen durch Vorschieben des
Fingerschlittens fassen das Gewebe und schließen die Zange durch Zug am
Fingerschlitten.
! Üben Sie nie einen zu starken Zug beim Schließen der Zange aus. Dies könnte
die Zange beschädigen!
Ziehen Sie die geschlossene Zange vorsichtig aus dem Endoskop heraus und
geben Sie die Polypen- und Gewebeprobe in ein dafür vorgesehenes Gefäß.
! Achten Sie darauf, dass die Zange beim Zurückziehen geschlossen bleibt.
Sollte sich herausstellen, dass Polypen – und Gewebeprobe zu groß sind um die
Zange vollständig schließen zu können, ziehen Sie diese bis zum distalen Ende
des Endoskops zurück. Entfernen Sie anschließend die Biopsiezange zusammen
mit dem Endoskop.
Nach erfolgtem Gebrauch muss das Instrument gemäß den entsprechenden
gesetzlichen und internen klinischen Vorschriften entsorgt werden.

Intended Purpose
The “Hot” Biopsy Forceps is intended for removing polyps and coagulating lesions
with high frequency. Furthermore it can be used to obtain mucosal tissue samples for
histological examination.
Warning !
The user of this equipment should be thoroughly trained in the applicable procedure.
Furthermore, failure to read and thoroughly understand the contents of this
instruction manual may result in serious injury to the patient and/or user. It is
essential to follow the instructions enclosed, as well as instructions found in other
instruction manuals, infection control requirements and current hospital protocols for
usage, cleaning and sterilization. Possible injuries related to endoscopic procedures
may include perforation, electrical burns and shock, hemorrhage, infection,
explosion, etc.
! Failure to follow these instructions may result in malfunction and/or damage of the
instrument or endoscope!
Storage
Please store the instrument at a temperature of 5°C to 30°C and a humidity of 30 to
60%. Keep dry and avoid exposure to sunlight and chemical fume.
General Safety Instruction
Wearing protective garments (i.e., gloves, protective eyewear, gowns, etc.) will
assist in the protection against risk of cross-contamination and injury.
Do not use an instrument if it does not function properly. If the device has any
physical defect(s), replace the instrument with a new and/or functioning
instrument.
Check the endoscope’s working channel diameter prior to introducing the
instrument into the endoscope. To ensure the appropriate fit of the instrument the
diameter of the endoscope’s working channel needs to be at least “0.2 mm” larger
than the instrument’s outer diameter.
! Never use instruments which do not comply with the technical specifications!
Do not force an instrument down the working channel of the endoscope. This
could result in endoscope and/or instrument damage.
Do not under any circumstances make any modifications to the instrument or
components described in this manual.
If applicable check the active cord for cracks and/or damages on its insulation.

Inspection and Testing
Check any damage of the package sealing
! If damage or an open seal is detected, sterilization may be compromised and the
instrument should be discarded and replaced.
Check date of sterilization.
! Never use products with non-valid sterilization date.
Check “Hot” Biopsy Forceps prior to use. Form a 12 cm diameter loop and make
sure, that the jaws open and close smoothly by advancing the fingerslide.
! Should there occur any irregularities or damages of active cords, dispose the
instruments and replace it with a new one.
Remove the protection cap of HF – plug at the “Hot” Biopsy Forceps and
connect an Olympus compatible active cord to the instrument and insure the
connection is tight. Connect the other end of the active cord to the electrosurgical
generator and follow the manufacturer´s instructions regarding operation (cutting
& coagulation mode) and proper grounding.
! It is important to use an Olympus compatible plug. Other plug configurations can
lead to faulty operation.
Application
Slowly advance the closed forceps into the endoscope’s working channel until the
forceps appears at the distal end of the endoscope.
! Should there be any resistance when advancing the biopsy forceps through the
curvature of the endoscope, straighten the endoscope as much as possible.
To remove a polyp, grab it with the forceps by using the fingerslide and apply HF
- current.
! Do not touch the metal working channel outlet of the endoscope with the metallic
components of a (HF) instrument while the instrument is being energized via the
electrosurgical generator. Metal components of instruments such as the cups of
“Hot” Biopsy Forceps can result in damage to the device such as short circuit,
breakage and/or melting of the instrument.
To take tissue out of a determined biopsy site, grasp the mucosal by
advancing the fingerslide and close the forceps cups.
! Don’t use to much force when closing the forceps, they could get damaged!

Carefully retract the closed forceps out of the endoscope and put the polyps and
tissue into a appropriate container per your institution’s guidelines.
! Make sure the forceps keeps closed while retraction.
If the polyp or sample is too large to close the forceps cups sufficiently, withdraw
the forceps to the tip of the endoscope and then withdraw the endoscope and
biopsy forceps simultaneously.
After use, dispose the entire instrument according to legal requirements and your
facility’s infection control protocols.

Attention !
Ce dispositif est à USAGE UNIQUE et doit être éliminé après usage.
Ne pas restériliser et/ou réutiliser le dispositif.
Indication
La pince à biopsie “chaude” est utilisée pour le retrait de polypes et la
coagulation des lésions sous haute fréquence. En outre, elle peut être utilisée pour
obtenir un échantillon de tissu muqueux pour un examen histologique.
Attention !
L’utilisateur de ce dispositif doit être formé à la procédure applicable. D’autre part, ne
pas lire et ne pas comprendre le contenu de ce manuel d’instructions peut entraîner
des incidents graves pour le patient et/ou l’utilisateur. Il est essentiel de suivre les
instructions ci jointes, aussi bien que d’autres instructions inhérentes à ce dispositif,
en particulier les recommandations concernant le contrôle des infections et les
protocoles hospitaliers associés au dispositif pour l’utilisation, le nettoyage et la
stérilisation. Les incidents potentiels liés aux procédures endoscopiques, incluent
perforations, brûlures et chocs électriques, hémorragies, infections, etc.
! Le non-respect des ces instructions peut entraîner un dysfonctionnement et/ou
un endommagement du dispositif et/ou de l’endoscope.
Stockage
Il est recommandé de conserver le dispositif dans son emballage protecteur à une
température comprise entre +5°C et +30°C et un taux d’hygrométrie situé entre 30%
et 60%. Il doit être conservé au sec et protégé de la lumière et des émanations
chimiques.
Instructions générales de sécurité
Porter des équipements de protection (gants, lunettes de protection casaque,
etc.) contribue à la protection contre le risque de contamination croisée et
incidents.
Ne pas utiliser le dispositif s’il présente des anomalies. Dans ce cas, procéder au
remplacement de ce dispositif par un nouveau dispositif fonctionnel.
Vérifier le diamètre du canal opérateur de l’endoscope avant d’introduire le
dispositif dans l’endoscope. Pour s’assurer du diamètre approprié du dispositif, le
diamètre du canal opérateur de l’endoscope doit être d’au moins 0,2 mm plus
large que le diamètre externe du dispositif.
! Ne jamais utiliser des dispositifs non-conformes aux spécifications techniques!
Ne pas forcer sur le dispositif pendant sa progression dans le canal opérateur de
l’endoscope. Il pourrait endommager l’endoscope et/ou le dispositif.
En toutes circonstances, ne jamais modifier le dispositif ou ses composants.
En cas d’utilisation de câble haute fréquence vérifier que l’isolation de celui-ci ne
présente aucunes fissures et/ou dommages.

Contrôles et essais
Vérifier l’intégrité de l’emballage
! Si l’emballage est endommagé ou ouvert, la stérilité peut être compromise, le
dispositif doit être éliminé et remplacé.
Vérifier la date de péremption.
! Ne jamais utiliser de dispositif dont la date de péremption est dépassée.
Vérifier l’intégrité de la pince à biopsie “chaude” avant utilisation. Former une
boucle d’environ 12cm à l’aide de l’ensemble du cathéter de la pince et s’assurer
que les cuillères s’ouvrent et se ferment correctement en manipulant la poignée
de la pince.
! En cas d’anomalies ou dommages de la haute fréquence, éliminer le dispositif et
remplacer le.
Retirer le capuchon protecteur de la prise HF de la pince à biopsie et connecter
un câble haute fréquence compatible avec le dispositif; s’assurer que la
connexion est sure. Connecter l’autre extrémité du câble HF au générateur
électrochirurgical et suivre les instructions du fabricant (mode coupe et
coagulation) et votre propre procédure.
! Il est important d’utiliser une connection compatible Olympus. D’autres
configurations de connection peuvent entraîner une opération défaillante.
Utilisation
Avancer lentement la pince à biopsie en position fermée dans le canal opérateur
de l’endoscope jusqu’à ce qu’elle apparaisse à l’extrémité distale de l’endoscope.
! En cas de résistance lors de l’introduction de la pince à biopsie dans le canal
opérateur de l’endoscope, redresser l’endoscope autant que possible.
Pour retirer un polype, le saisir à l’aide des cuillères en manipulant la poignée et
appliquer le courant HF.
! Ne pas toucher l’extrémité métallique du canal opérateur de l’endoscope avec
des composants métalliques d’un dispositif (HF) pendant que le dispositif est
alimenté par le générateur électrochirurgical. Les composants métalliques des
dispositifs comme les cuillères des pinces à biopsie “chaude” peuvent entraîner
des dommages pour le dispositif tels que court-circuit, fissure et/ou la fonte du
dispositif.

Pour prélever un tissu à partir d’un site de biopsie déterminé, saisir la
muqueuse en avançant la poignée et en fermant les cuillères de la pince.
! Ne pas exercer trop de force en fermant la pince afin de ne pas l’endommager!
Retirer doucement la pince fermée de l’endoscope et déposer le polype et le
prélèvement dans un contenant approprié en suivant les instructions en vigueur
de l’établissement.
! S’assurer que la pince reste bien fermée pendant son retrait de l’endoscope.
Si le polype ou l’échantillon prélevé est trop important pour que les cuillères
puissent se refermer suffisamment, retirer la pince jusqu’à l’extrémité distale de
l’endoscope puis retirer l’endoscope et la pince à biopsie simultanément.
Après utilisation, éliminer le dispositif en accord avec les protocoles d’hygiène de
l’établissement et les réglementations en vigueur.
