Safety information
Use the camera only in environments that are covered by the camera’s
enclosure rating.
Store and use the camera at the rated temperature and humidity.
The camera is not waterproof. Do not use the camera outside when it rains.
Do not open the camera body or modify the camera’s hardware.
You can damage the camera and there is risk of electric shock.
Do not expose the lens to direct sunlight.
Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause permanent damage to components
inside the camera.
Do not use the camera for security purposes.
This camera is not intended as a security device.
Do not connect third-party power supplies to the camera.
Doing so may damage or shorten the life of your camera.
Do not directly look at the laser diode.
The light emitted from the diode may harm your eyes.
Do not use non-standard power sources, such as generators or inverters,
even if the voltage and frequency are acceptable.
Only use the AC power from a standard wall outlet.
Using a non-standard power source may damage the camera or cause a fire or
electric shock.
Do not handle the power cable or the power adapter during a thunderstorm.
Doing so may result in electric shock.
Do not use a damaged power cable, plug, or loose outlet.
Doing so may cause a fire or electric shock.
Do not pull the power cable to disconnect the plug from the power outlet.
Disconnect the power supply by gripping the plug.
Pulling on the power cable may cause a fire or electric shock.
Do not bend or place heavy objects on the power cable or USB cable.
Doing so may damage the cable.
Do not use the camera near flammable or explosive materials.
Doing so may cause a fire or electric shock.

Do not handle the camera with wet hands.
Doing so may result in electric shock.
Comply with all legal requirements relating to camera usage.
Non-compliance may interfere with the operation of other electronic devices.
Turn off the camera near medical equipment. Your camera can interfere with
medical equipment in health care facilities. Follow all regulations, posted
warnings, and directions from medical personnel.
Maintain a safe distance between the camera and a pacemaker to prevent
electronic interference. If you suspect that interference is occurring,
immediately turn off the camera and contact the manufacturer of the
pacemaker or medical device for guidance.
Do not use the camera in areas that have high humidity.
Doing so may corrode components inside the camera.
Protect the camera lens from fingerprints and scratches.
Clean the lens with a soft and clean cloth.

The first image shows the best installation methods. Avoid any objects in FOV near camera's
close range. Reflection may cause depth data error.

Installing the camera
Connecting the camera to a computer
To connect the camera to a computer, follow the instructions below:
1Connect the USB cable from the camera to one of your computer's USB ports.
2Connect the power cable from the camera to the power adapter.
3Insert the adapter's power cable into the adapter.
4Insert the adapter's plug to a power outlet.

Installing the software package
Installing the software package
The software installation package can be found at www.cube-eye.co.kr. It contains the Cube Eye
Viewer application, the library and header files necessary for user programming, a sample
application code, the device driver, and the API manual.
For Windows
The software installation package for Windows can be installed on a computer running
Windows7 or Windows8 (x86, x64). It contains Dynamic library link (*.dll or *.lib) ad OpenGL
library (for the Sample viewer). The programming language is MFC Visual C++ 2012.
To install the package, follow the instructions below:
1Run Cube Eye Software Setup.exe. This file can be downloaded from www.cube-eye.co.kr.
2Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the installation.
3Connect the camera to a computer.
4Open Device Manager on your computer.
5In the Device Manager window, right-click on your camera and select Update Driver
Software.

6Click Browse my computer for driver software.
7Select the following path C:\Cube Eye\Driver\x86 or x64 and click Next.
8Select Always trust software from "Meerecompany INC". and click Install.

9In the Update Driver Software window, click Close.
10 Ensure that the device driver has been installed properly.
Note
DEPTH ONLY models will appear only under MTF Imaging Devices. DEPTH + COLOR
models will appear both under Imaging devices and MTF Imaging Devices.

Installing the software package
For Linux
The software installation package for Linux can be installed on Ubuntu 10.04 / 12.04 / 14.04 LTS
(x86, x64). It contains QT version 5.2 (Linux Tool program).
To install the package, follow the instructions below:
1Unzip the Linux installation package. You can download it from www.cube-eye.co.kr.
2Install the device driver and library files (./mtfinstall.sh).

For ARM
The software installation package for computers equipped with ARM processor(s) has been
tested with Exynos4412 (Cortex A9). Its compiler version is arm-none-linux-gnueabi and arm-
linux-gnueabihf.
To install the package, follow the instructions below:
1Create a device node file.
# mknod /dev/bus/usb/Bus Number/Device Number cMajor Number Minor Number
Note
The screenshot above is an example of the Bus Number, Device Number, Major
Number, Minor Number. Your numbers will differ from the screenshot.
2Set the Library Path for libMTF_API.so.
# export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:PATH
3Execute the SimpleRead program (./SimpleRead).

For Android
The software installation package for Embedded Android has been tested with Ice Cream
Sandwich, Jelly Bean(Cortex A9). The process requires root privileges.
To install the package, follow the instructions below:
1Installation CubeEyeViewer.apk(adb install –r CubeEyeViewer.apk)
2Confirmation from the Android device connected.(lsusb command to install Android on
the test environment)
3Change the permissions associated with the node. This section requires root privileges.
4Execute the CubeEyeViewer.

Using the software
Cube Eye Viewer allows you to view the image through the 3D Range Camera. You can acquire
the data from the camera and store it using Cube Eye Viewer. You can easily optimize the image
via a simple setup procedure.

Monitoring with the camera
1Connect your camera to a computer and a power supply.
2Launch Cube Eye Viewer on your computer.
3Select your camera in the pop-up window and click OK.
4Click ▶Play and start monitoring.
•To stop monitoring, click Stop.

Capturing photos from the live stream
To capture photos from the live stream, click Capture.
You can capture up to 10 photos. Captured photos are saved in BMP format to the following
path: C:\Cube Eye\SaveData\capture date\BMP.
A CSV file containing the information of the photo will be automatically created in the following
path: : C:\Cube Eye\SaveData\capture date\CSV.

Recording videos from the live stream
Recorded videos are saved as .mee files. Files names are automatically generated in the
following format: MeereYYYYMMDDHHMMSSMMM.mee.
Meere: prefix
YYYY: year
MM: month
DD: day
HH: hour
MM: minute
SS: second
MMM: millisecond
For example, if a video is recorded at 11:40:49.247 on the 18th of August in 2015, the file name
will be Meere20150818114049247.mee.
