remove

from
theshipping
containerand
removethe
packing
materials
and
place
the
microscope
frame
onastable
work
surface.
Place
theanalyzer-
Bertrand
lens
module
ontothe
frame
andtightentheclampscrew
to
securethe
module.(Fig.1)
Next,
place
thebinocular
head
(MA952)
or
trinocular
head
(MA953)
on
the
topoftheanalyzer-
Bertrandlens
module
andtightentheclampscrew
whilethehead
is
inthe
correct
position
as
shown
right.(Fig.2)
o lnstall
the
Siedentopf
headwiththe2mm
allen
wrench
supplied
beingcarefultoalignthenotch
in
the
headwiththe
set
screw.(Fig.3)
Next,
installtheMA407CP
focusing
eyepiece
by
sliding
it
intothe
slotted
right
eyetubeand
install
the
other
eyepiece
(MA407)
intotheleft
eyetube.
The
rubber
eyeshields
can
alsobe
installed
on
top
ofeacheyepiece.
The
eyepieces
for
MT9000
Series
area DIN
standard23.2mm
diameter.
o Remove
theobjectives
from
their
objective
cases
whilebeing
careful
not
to
touch
any
part
of
the
optics.Strain
free
objectives
are
markedwith
the
letter
"POL"
inred
andare
very
sensitiveand
aresusceptible
to
pressure
or
impacts.They
shouldonlybe
handled
by
theknurledcollar.
Gentlyscrew

objective
into

"fixed"
openingof

components
from
the
shipping
containerand
remove
the
packing
materials
and
place
the
microscope
frame
onastablework surface..

Next,
mountthe
Analyzer-Bertrand
Lensmodule
onthe
vertical
llluminator,
place
the
binocular
head
(MA952)
ortrinocularhead
(MA953)
onto
thetop
of
theAnalyzer-Bertrandlens
module
(if
installed)
and
re-tighten
the
clampscrewwhilethehead
is
inthe
correct
position
asshown
right.(Fig.7)
o lnstallthe
Siedentopf
headwith
the
2mm
allen
wrench
supplied
beingcareful
to
alignthe
notch
in
the
headwith
thesetscrew.
Next,
installtheMA4OTCP
focusing
eyepiecebysliding
it
intothe
slotted
right
eyetubeand
install
the
othereyepiece
(MA407)
into
theleft
eyetube.
Therubber
eyeshields
can
alsobe
installed
on
top
ofeach
eyepiece.
The
eyepiecesfor MT9000
Seriesarea
DfN standard 23.2mmdiameter.
o Remove
theobjectives
from
their
objectivecaseswhilebeing
careful
nottotouchany
part
oftheoptics.Strain
free
objectives
are
marked
withthe

"POL"
inred
and
are
very
sensitive
and
are
susceptibleto
pressure
or
impacts.
They
shouldonly
be
handled
bythe
knurled
collar.Gently
screw
the10X
objective
into
the
"fixed"
opening
of
thenosepiece
(the
openingthat
does
NOT
have
centeringscrews).

orderof

eyepieceevenwheninterpupillary
distance
is
changed.
Adjustinglnterpupillary
Distance
The
InterpupillaryDistance
is
essentiallythe
distance
between
your
two
pupils
expressed
inmillimeters.
When
set
correctly,
one
will
seeone
uniformround
field
of
view
orFOV.
The
adjustmentismade
by
simply
pulling
apartor
pushing
together
the
eyetubesuntil
a uniformround
fieldis
achieved.
Make
note
ofthe
number
marked
onthe
viewing
head
so
you
can
repeat
the
settinglater.
Next,
place
aspecimenonthe
stageand
get
itintofocuswith
theright
eye
while
your
left
eye
is
closed.
Once
theright
side
is
in
focus
byusingthe
fine
focus
knob
onthemicroscope,
open
your
left
eyeandusethe
diopter
on
theleft
eyetube
to
bring
theleft
sidein
focus.
Oncethis
is
done,themicroscopeis
adjusted
to
thisuser.

Whenobjectives
are
notcentered,
specimens
mayleavethefield
of
viewwhenrotatingthe
stage.
Performthe
stepsbelow
if
objectives
are
notcentered
properly:
1.Before
starting,makesurethatthe10Xobjectiveisinstalledinthe
fixed
holeofthenosepiece.Thisisthe
position
thatdoesNOThave
centering
screws.Allobjectives will
beadjustedagainst
the10X
position.
2.Make
sure
theBertrandLens,the
analyzerandanyotherslidersareclearoftheoptical
path
andthe
irisontheilluminatorisopenalltheway.
3.Useasmall
grain
or
some
type
of
targetand
place
itinthe
centerof
thefield
of
viewwiththe10X
objectiveandbring
it
into
focus
asshownbelowin
"A".
4.
Center
the
targetbyrotatingthestageandevaluatinghowcenteredthetargetappears.
5.Oncethetargetiscentered,movetothenexthighest
objective
andinsertthecenteringkeysintothe
nosepieceforthat
position.
6.Bring
thespecimenagaininto
focus
and
note
its
position
inthe
lield
ofview.
7.Rotatethe
stageuntilthetargetmoveslarthestawayfromthecrosslineattheasshownbelowin
"D"(Position
1).
8.Adjustthe
centeringscrewsonthe
nosepiece
until
the
target
ismidway
belween
Position1
and
the
crosslineasshown
in
"D".
