Adiusting
Interpupillary
Distance
The
Interpupillary
Distance
is
essentially
the
distance
between
your
two
pupils
expressed
in
millimeters.
When
setcorrectly,
onewill
see
one
uniform
round
field
of
view
orFOV.
The
adjustment
is
made
by
simply
pulling
apart
or
pushing
together
the
eyetubes
until
a uniform
round
field
is
achieved.
Make
note
ofthe
number
marked
onthe
viewing
head
so
you
canrepeat
the
settinglater.
When
you
place
aspecimen
onthe
stage,
get
itinto
focus
with
theright
eyewhile
your
left
eyeis
closed.
Once
theright
side
is
in
focus
byusing
thefine
focus
knob
onthemicroscope,
open
your
left
eye
anduse
the
diopter
onthe
left
eyetube
tobring
theleft
sidein
focus.
Oncethisis
done,
the
microscope
is
adjusted
tothis
user.
Other
users

2.Lookingintotheeyepieceswithoutaspecimenonthestage,
the
fieldof
view
appearsdark.
3.Whenaspecimen
is
placed
on
the
stage,
features
ofthespecimen
such
asscratches,surface
particles
and
depressionswillretlectbrightlyagainstthedarkbackground.
4.Darkfieldmodeisuseful
