Safety advice and warnings:
•Read all these instructions carefully before
switching on the appliance and keep them
for future reference. Failure to follow and ob-
serve these instructions may result in injury.
•Before use, clean all the parts of the ap-
pliance that will be in contact with food as
indicated in the “Cleaning” section of this
instruction manual.
Use or working environment:
•Use the appliance in a well ventilated area.
•Place the appliance on a flat and stable
surface that is able to withstanding high
temperatures.
•Keep the appliance away from any other heat
source.
•Never immerse the appliance, its heating
element, power cable or plug in water or any
other liquid.
•Keep the appliance away from any flam-
mable material such as textiles, cardboard or
paper, etc.
•Do not use the appliance with a timer or
other device that automatically switches it on.
Electric safety:
•Do not use the appliance if the power cable
or plug is damaged.
•Ensure that the voltage indicated on the rat-
ing label matches the mains voltage before
plugging in the appliance.
•Connect the appliance to an earth wall
socket that can withstand a minimum of 16
amperes.
•The appliance’s plug must fit into the wall
socket properly. Do not alter the plug. Do not
use plug adaptors.
•Do not use or store the appliance outdoors.
•Do not leave the appliance out in the rain
or exposed to moisture. If water gets into
the appliance, this will increase the risk of
electric shock.
•If any parts of the appliance casing breaks,
immediately disconnect the appliance from
the mains to prevent the possibility of an
electric shock.
•Do not use the appliance if it has fallen or if
there are visible signs of damage.
•Do not use the appliance with wet hands or
when barefoot.
•Do not force the power cable. Never use the
power cable to lift up, carry or unplug the
appliance.
•Do not wrap the power cable around the
appliance.
•Ensure that the power cable does not get
trapped or tangled.
•Do not allow the power cable to come into
contact with the appliance’s hot surfaces.
•Check the state of the power cable. A dam-
aged or tangled power cable will increase the
risk of electric shock.
•Do not touch the plug with wet hands.
•This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or
lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruc-
tion concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
•Children should be supervised at all times to
ensure they do not play with the appliance.
Personal safety:
•Do not touch the metal parts or the body
of the appliance while it is in use, as it may
cause serious burns.
Use and care:
•Fully unroll the appliance’s power cable
before each use.
•Do not use the appliance without the base
and reflective tray fitted properly.
•Do not use the appliance if the tray is not fit-
ted properly underneath the heating element.
•Do not move the appliance while it is in use.
•Do not use the appliance if it is tipped up and
do not turn it over.
•Do not turn the appliance over while it is
in use or while it is connected to the wall
socket.
•Do not use charcoal or other fuel with this
appliance.

•Do not cover the cooking surface or food
with aluminium foil or any other similar ma-
terials.
•Adhere to the “MIN” and “MAX” water level
indicators.
•Disconnect the appliance from the wall
socket when it is not in use and before un-
dertaking any cleaning task.
•This appliance is for household use only, not
professional or industrial use.
•This appliance is not a toy. Children should
be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance.
•This appliance is intended for adult use.
Ensure that this product is not used by the
disabled, children or people not used to this
type of appliance.
•This appliance should be stored out of reach
of children and the disabled.
•Do not store or transport the appliance while
it is still hot.
•Any misuse or failure to follow the instruc-
tions for use renders the guarantee and the
manufacturer’s liability null and void.
•Wait for the appliance to cool down com-
pletely before undertaking any cleaning task
and before moving or storage.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
Fitting the heating element:
•Fit the heating element by inserting it cor-
rectly using the guides (Fig. 1).
Before use:
•Before using this appliance for the first time,
it is advisable to test it without food.
•Before using the appliance for the first time,
clean all the parts that will come into contact
with food in the manner described in the
“Cleaning” section.
•Some parts of the appliance have been
lightly greased. Consequently, the first time
the appliance is used it may smoke slightly.
After a short time, this smoke will disappear.
Use:
•Unroll the power cable completely before
plugging it in.
•Fill the water tray with water, adhering to the
“MIN” and “MAX” levels.
•The grill can be adjusted to one of two
heights. For the lower setting , insert into left
hole (Fig. 3a). For the higher setting, insert
the grill ‘legs’ into right hole (Fig. 3b).
•Connect the appliance to the wall socket
(ensure the voltage on the rating label cor-
responds to the voltage of the mains).
•Turn the variable temperature control to the
desired temperature position. The pilot light
(D) will illuminate indicating that the appli-
ance is heating up.
•Wait until the pilot light (D) has switched
off, this will indicate that the appliance has
reached the selected temperature.
•Place the food to be cooked carefully on the
grill.
•In order to minimize the generation of acryl-
amide during the cooking process, avoid the
food reaching dark brown.
•When the food is to your taste, remove it
from the appliance with the help of a wooden
spatula or similar heat resistant implement.
•The water will evaporate during use. It will
therefore be necessary to refill the water tray.
•When refilling, avoid dropping water on the
heating element.
Once you have finished using the appliance:
•Unplug the appliance from the wall socket.
•Clean the appliance as explained in the
“Cleaning” section.
Cleaning:
•Disconnect the appliance from the wall
socket and let it cool down completely before
undertaking any cleaning task.
•Remove tray as shown in Fig. 2 for cleaning.
•Clean the power cable and casing with
a damp cloth and then dry. DO NOT IM-
MERSE THE APPLIANCE IN WATER OR
ANY OTHER LIQUID.
•Clean the water tray using a damp cloth with
a few drops of washing-up liquid and then
dry.
•Do not use solvents, or products with an
acid or base pH such as bleach, or abrasive
products when cleaning the appliance.
•Do not submerge the appliance in water or
any other liquid, or place it under a running
tap.
•It is advisable to clean the appliance regu-
larly and remove any food remains.
Anomalies and repair:
•Take the appliance to an authorised service
centre if any problems should arise. Do not
try to dismantle or repair the appliance.
•If the power cable or plug has been dam-
aged, it must be replaced by an authorised
service centre.
Ecology and recyclability of the product:
•The materials of which the packaging of this
appliance consists are included in a collec-
tion, classification and recycling system.
Should you wish to dispose of them, use the
appropriate public containers for each type
of material.
•The product does not contain concentra-
tions of substances that could be considered
harmful to the environment.
•This appliance contains, or could contain,
oil. Remember that one should abide by the
regulations concerning the elimination of this
type of contaminant.
