Micromax E4817 comes with AndroidNougat, which provides you a host of
advanced and desirable features to give you an amazing Android
experience.
Read Me First
Please read all safety precautions and this user guide carefully
before using your device to ensure safe and proper use.
The descriptions in this user guideare basedon the default settings
of your device.
Available features and additional services may vary by device,
software, or service provider.
Applications and their functions may vary based on the country,
region, software or hardware specifications. Micromax is not liable for
performance issues caused by third-party applications.
Panic Button
Your device supports the Panic button functionality which lets you call
emergency services for immediate assistance in case of an emergency
situation.
Press the Power key 3 times inquick succession and your deviceinitiates a
call to the emergency number 112, which will direct the call to concerned
departments for help.
You can invoke the Panic button even when the device is locked.

Insert SIM and Memory Card
1. Switch off your phone and pull out the SIM tray as shown:

Charging the Battery
Before using the device for the first time, we recommend you to fully charge
the battery.
Use only Micromax chargers and cables. Other chargers or
cables may damage the battery or your device. This will
invalidate your phone warranty.
Google Account
Your Google Account lets you take full advantage of applications and
services offered by Google Play Store. Configure your Google account on
this handset to get access to your Gmail, Google Play Store, Google Maps,
and much more.

Internet connection is required to set up Google account.
You can configure your Google account from Settings Accounts Add
a c c ou nt Go o gl e .
If you do not have an existing Google account, you may
create one from the account configuring step.
Play Store
After you have configured your google account, you can access play store
by tapping icon and choose to download from unlimited entertainment
sources, applications, games, movies, and books.
To view and manage the list of all inbuilt, downloaded, and runni ng
applications, go to S ettings Apps.
Battery Saver Mode
Your phone comes with a Battery Saver Mode that:
Saves power significantly by running only the essentialapps
while turning off background data.
Restricts the background data for apps like Gmail, Twitter,
Facebook, etc. and limits the phone’s performance to extend the
battery life.
Automatically switches off when the phone is connected to a
charger.
To enable Battery Saver mode go to Settings Batteryand select Battery
s a ver.

Notifications
Notifications inform you of new messages and events as and when they
appear on the device.

Quick Settings allow access to basic phone features such as Airplane
Mode, Wi-Fi, Brightness levels, and many more.

Phone Security
You can unlock your phone using a variety of methods.
The default unlock method is
S w i pe. To unlock thescreen, just
swipe up on the lock screen.
To set other unlocking methods,
go to S e t tings Security

your own pattern by connecting the dots to
prevent your phone from unauthorized
access.

Enter your PIN to unlock your phone! You
can set a PIN as your screen password.

Enter your password to unlock! You can
set your desired password as your screen
password.
Fingerprint
You can add your fingerprints and use the fingerprint sensor to unlock the
device or access apps.
1. Go to S e tti n g s →S e c u r i t y →Fi n ge r p r i nt
2. Unlock the screen (if screen lock is set).
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
4. Place your finger on the scanner as shown below, till the scan is
complete.

5. Your fingerprint is added once the scan is complete.
You can enroll new fingerprints in a similar manner.
Settings and Networks
Your phone can connect to various networks and devices. You can also
transfer files to/from your PC through the data cable.

SIM.
You might also need to configure the access point name for the data
connection to work.

You can configure the access point name from

select from the list.
Teth ering & Portab il ity
You can use your device as amodem and connect your PC or laptop to the
Internet, when required.
Go to S e ttings More Tethering & portable hotspot
US B Tethering
1. Connect your phone with your PC/Laptop via USB cable.
2. Select the US B tethering option.
3. Select your phone network as the network connection in your
PC/laptop and get access to the Internet.
Wi- Fi Hotsp ot
1. Enable the P ortable W i-Fi hotsp ot option.
2. Enable Wi-Fi on the other Wi-Fi enabled PC/laptop/handset, choose
your phone as a Wi-Fi network to connect with it.
3. View and configure Wi-Fi hotspot settings by tapping Set up Wi-Fi
ho ts pot option.
B l ue too th Tet hering
1. Pair your phone with aBluetooth enabled PC/laptop via Bluetooth
pairing option.
By default, the access point namegets configuredonce you
insert the SIM, Or, your network provider sends the access
point name settings via SMS. Youmay need to install these
settings. If the access point names arenot listed by default,
please contact your network provider for the same.
Your mobile operator will charge you based on your data
usage.

2. Select the B l uetooth tethering option inyour phone.
3. On the paired PC/laptop, select the Bluetooth device (your phone )
and choose to connect to the Internet.
Pair With Bl uetooth Devices
Go to S e tti n g s B l u e to o th
1. If Bluetooth is off, turn it on. Your phone scans and displays the
Bluetooth devices in range.
2. Tap the ID of the other device inthe list to pair with it.
3. You may be prompted to confirm passkey/pairing code on one of the
devices. The passkey/pairing code may display on one of the
devices.
4. Tap P air to confirm the passkey/pairing code and pair the devices.
On successful pairing, your phone connects to the device.
Airplane Mode
Airplane Mode allows you to disable all mobile networks, Wi-Fi, and
Bluetooth connections. To activate the airplane mode, open Quick settings
and select A i r p l a ne m od e .
Google Maps
Google Maps is a web-basedservice offered by Google Inc.which offers you
access to various map-based services. You can view various streets,
landmarks and can even plan your routes with the help of Google Maps.
Settings required for Google Maps access include:
1. Enable location access from Settings Location.
If the device you want to pair with is not in the list,make sure
the Bluetooth on that device is turned on, then tap and
select R e fr e s h to search again.

2. Tap to start using Google Maps.

Safety Precautions
Internet connection is required for using Google Maps.
When you use the map, you use your Internet connection to
transfer data to and from your phone.
Google Maps application may not be available in every
street, country or region.
Micromax does not guarantee the accuracy of any
directional services.
Switch off yourdevice in any area with potential explosive atmosphere such as
refueling stations, fuel depots, chemical plants or places where blasting
operation is in progress. Sparksarising out of radio frequency may causefireor
explosion. Rememberto comply with legal requirementsand local restrictions
when using thephone.
Your Phone’s radio waves may interfere with medical devices.
Preferably maintain a distanceof 15.3cm (6inches) between a wireless device
and implanted medical devicessuch as pacemaker or cardioverter defibrillator.
Switch off your device when regulationsrequireyou todoso.

Taking Care of your device
Yourdevice is a product of superiordesign and craftsmanship and shouldbehandled with
care in thefollowing ways:
Keep the device dry. Precipitation, humidity, and all typesof liquids can rust the
electronic circuits. If yourdevicegets wet, wipeit with adry cloth and takeit toan
authorized service center.
Always keep the phone and accessories out of reach of small children. Small
partssuch as theSIM card can bedismantled and swallowed by small children.
Do not place thephonenear electromagneticdatacarriers such as credit/Debit
cards. Information stored on them could belost.
Permanent damag eto hearing may occur if you useearphones at hig h volume
for p rolonged periods. Set your volume toasafe level.
Themains voltage(V) specified on thepower supply unit must not beexceeded
to prevent damageto the charging device. Thepower supply mustbeplugged
intoan easily accessible ACpowersocket when charging thebattery.
You may only open thephonetoreplacethebattery (ifnot inbuilt), SIM card. All
other changes to this device are strictly prohibited and will invalidate the
warranty.
Thephonemay causeinterferencein thevicinity of TV sets, radios and PCs.
Do not use the phone while driving. Please put the phone safely in the phone
stand. Donot put it ontoany spot from which it may fall down during collision or
emergency braking.
Flight is influenced by interference caused by the phone. It is not advised to
switch on a phoneduring flight.
Please repair the device at Micromax authorized service center only. Repairing
thedevice by yourself invalidatesthewarranty rules.

Do not store the device in high or cold temperature. Extreme temperatures can
shorten thelifeof electronic devices and damagebatteries.
Do not useor store thedevice in dusty, dirty areas. Its moving partsandelectronic
components can get damaged.
Do not attempttoopen thedevice otherthan asinstructed in this guide.
Do not drop, knock, shake orbend thedevice. Rough handling can breakinternal
circuit boards and finemechanics.
Do not useharsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, orstrong detergents toclean the
device. Only useasoft, clean, dry cloth toclean thesurfaceof thedevice.
Do not store or bring yourdevicenearmagneticfields forextended period of time.
Battery Recommendations
Werecommend you tochargethedeviceat room temperaturerange.
Batteries havelife cycles. Afterafull charge, if thepower reserve of thebattery tends
to depleteinordinately fasterthan usual, thebattery lifeisatan end.
Useonly Micromaxchargers and cables. Micromaxwill not beheld responsiblefor
user’s safety when using incompatible accessories orsupplies.
Temperature and Humidity
Thedevice is designed forusewithin atemperaturerangeof -20 ˚c ± 5 to 45˚c ± 5,
storage within thetemperaturerangeof -30 ˚c ± 5 to 65˚c ± 5. In case of violation of these
temperatureconditions, thedevicecan bedamaged and battery lifecan bereduced.
Therecommended humidity for maintaining thedeviceis in therange50to55%.
Do not expose yourdevice toextreme temperaturesor humidity.

Recycle your Phone
The WEEE logo (shown at the left) appears on the product (battery,
handset, and charg er) toindicatethat this product must not be disposed of
or dumped with yourotherhouseholdwastes. You areliabletodisposeof
all your electronic or electrical waste equip ment by relocating overtothe
specified collection point for recycling of such hazardous waste.
Collection and proper recovery of your electronic waste equipm ent at thetimeof disposal
will allow us tohelp preserve the environment. Recyclingof theelectronic waste equipment

SAR Information

Your device is designed not to exceed the limits of emission of radio waves
recommended by international guidelines.
SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) is the measurement of body -absorbed RF quantity
when thedeviceis in use. SAR valueis ascertained according to the highest RF level
generated during laboratory tests.
