• Two small device mounting pattern locations on the shelf bottom.
• Interchangeable face-after faceplate design.

NOTE: This instruction sheet shows one set of assembly steps for the product; however, it also may be
assembled in different procedural orders. Rearrange the order of “Assembling the Rack Ears,” “Installing
the Stop Brackets,” and “Mounting to Rackrail” topics to suit your specific installation as necessary.

1. With the Shovel Lance hooks on the underside of the shelf bottom (A) pointing downward, place
rectangular openings on the flange of the left ear (B) over the hooks as shown. (FIGURE A)
NOTE: Find the left ear and left side of the shelf bottom by matching the "L" punched on both
components.
2. Pull up on the ear (B) toward the front of the shelf until the Shovel Lance hook on the shelf bottom (A)
fully engages the ear.
3. Repeat the process using the right ear (B) on the opposite side of your shelf bottom (A). (FIGURE B)

NOTE: For wide components where rivets (C) may
interfere with feet, do not install rivets into the front
holes. A minimum of one rivet per ear (B) must be
used to secure them properly to the shelf bottom (A).

pattern locations on the shelf bottom (A).

4. Insert a plastic rivet (C) through the shelf holes in each corner of the shelf bottom (A) and into the ear
(B) as shown. (FIGURE C)

1. Put the faceplate (D) against the front of the rackshelf as a guide. (FIGURE D)
NOTE: Faceplate cutouts vary based on your order. A sample center cutout is shown on the faceplate
used in these instructions. This same stop bracket installation procedure applies to single or multiple
component setups.
2. Place your component onto the rackshelf from the rear, holding the face of your component through
the faceplate cutout.
NOTE: Be careful with your component and protect the face from scratches or any other harm.
3. Install stop brackets (E) by inserting them into the vent holes just behind your component on the shelf
bottom (A) and twisting the brackets 90° to secure them into place as shown. (FIGURE E)
NOTE:
• The stop brackets should be touching the rear of your component.
• The stop brackets have a high and low side to better accommodate different component heights
and connections.

1. Set aside your faceplate (D) and component from the rackshelf.
2. Use (4x) mounting screws (F) through the ears (B) and into the rackrail to mount the rackshelf to your
desired location in the enclosure as shown. (FIGURE F)
NOTE:
• Pull through any cabling required for your component connections at this time.
• Components above and below the rackshelf may prohibit access to connections in the rear. This may
require you making connections prior to placing the component on the rackshelf.
3. Place your component into position on the rackshelf.
4. Install the faceplate (D) using (2x) rack
screws (not provided) through holes on
the faceplate, ears (B), and into the
rackrail as shown. (FIGURE G)
NOTE: Cage nuts (G) may be required for
installations using Middle Atlantic’s
Forward rackrail.
