The cooktop should have been ordered
for connection to either natural or LP
(propane) gas.
The included regulator corresponds
with the gas type of the cooktop. Verify
before installing. See, "To convert the
regulator".
If the appliance is to be connected to a
type of gas other than it was originally
configured for, both the regulator and
burners must be converted.
,WARNING
The conversion kit must be
installed by a qualified technician
in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions and
all applicable local and national
codes. If the information in these
instructions is not followed
exactly, a fire, explosion or
production of carbon monoxide
may result causing property
damage, personal injury or loss of
life. The qualified technician is
responsible for the proper
installation of this kit. The
installation is not proper and
complete until the operation of the
converted appliance is checked as
specified in these instructions.
To convert the regulator:
^Unscrew the hexagonal nut (brass
cap) located on the top of the
regulator.
^Make sure that the spring stays in
place.
^Take the plastic insert out and flip it
over.
The plastic insert is marked on either
end:
- NAT (Natural Gas)
- LP (Propane)
^Set the plastic insert back into the
nut.
^Screw the hexagonal nut back on the
regulator.

To convert the burner
,Conversion to a different type of
gas should only be performed by an
authorized gas technician.
Turn off the main gas supply (if the
appliance has been installed) and
disconnect the appliance from the
main electrical power supply before
proceeding.
When converting to a different type of
gas, the jets and needle valves have to
be changed.

^Remove the burner grates, the small
burner cap o, the large burner cap
p, the burner ring qand the burner
base r.
^Pull off the control knob.
^Loosen the screws w.
^The combiset surface can now be
removed.
Changing the large burner jet
^Using a 10 mm wrench, remove the
jet. While doing this, use a 13 mm
wrench to hold the gas tube to
prevent it from twisting.
^Install the new jet using the same
procedure.

Changing the small burner jet

^First loosen the fitting, c, using an
8 mm wrench. While doing so hold
the connector, b,witha12mm
wrench to prevent the tubing from
twisting.
^Then remove the connector, b, from
the fitting, a, using two 12 mm
wrenches.
^Remove the jet, d, and replace it
with the new jet.
^Slide the air sleeve, e, until there is a
1/16" (2 mm) gap between the sleeve
and the air vent, f, as shown.
Reassemble the burners and test the
unit for leaks. The cooktop can be
operated without the cooktop surface in
place by igniting the flames with a
match.

Check the intake air
aLock screw

Gap X must measure:
– ½" (13 mm) for natural gas
– ½" (13 mm) for LP (propane) gas
^To adjust the gap, loosen the lock
screw and slide the air sleeve in or
out as necessary.
^Tighten the lock screw.
^Use sealant to secure the jets and
prevent loosening.
^Reassemble the cooktop in reverse
order.
The flame must not go out on the lowest
setting, or when the control is turned
quickly from a high to a low setting.
On the highest setting the flame must
have a distinctive and visible core.
Changing the needle valves

^Using a small screwdriver, unscrew
the needle valves and remove them
with a pair of needle nose pliers.
^Insert the new valves and screw them
in place.
^Use sealant to secure the jets and
prevent loosening.
,Check all fittings for gas leaks
before reassembling the cooktop.

After conversion
^After converting the cooktop, affix the
label supplied with the conversion kit
on to the data plate over the type of
gas stated.
^Reassemble the burner parts in the
reverse order.
^Check all gas fittings for leaks by
operating the burner without the
combiset surface in place (use a
match to ignite the flame).
^Remove the burner parts again.
^Replace the combiset surface.
^Screw the burner base into place,
and replace the other parts of the
burner. Take care to reassemble the
burner in the correct order.
^Replace the control knob.
^Light the burner to be sure it is
operating correctly.
When set at "low" or when the control
knob is quickly turned from "high" to low
the flame should not go out.
When set at "high" the gas flame must
burn with the center clearly visible.

Changing the jets
^Remove the burner grates, burner
cap nand the burner head o.

wrench to unscrew the jet, s.
^Install the new jet using the same
procedure.

The combiset surface has to be
removed before the needle valves can
be changed.
^Remove the grates, burner cap n

^Pull off the control knob.
^Loosen the screws t.
^The combiset surface can now be
removed.
^Use a small screwdriver to unscrew
the needle valves uand remove with
a pair of needle nose pliers.
^Insert the new valves and tighten.
^Use sealant to secure the jets and
prevent loosening.
,Check all fittings for gas leaks
before reassembling the cooktop.

sure they are operating correctly.

knob is quickly turned from "high" to low
the flame should not go out.
When set at "high" the gas flame must
burn with the center clearly visible.

Changing the jet
The combiset surface has to be
removed before the jet can be
changed.
^Remove the grate, burner cap a,
burner head band cover plate c.
^Pull the control knob off.
^Unfasten the retaining pins d.
^The combiset surface can now be
removed.

Changing the jet
^Remove the two screws aof the
burner pipe on the underside of the
appliance.
^Pull off the burner pipe b.
^Unscrew air intake sleeve c.
^While using a 19 mm wrench to
prevent it the gas tube from twisting,
unscrew the jet ccounterclockwise
using a 14 mm wrench (see
illustration).
^Install the new jet using the same
procedure.
^Reassemble the burner parts in the
reverse order and check for leaks by
operating the burner without the
combiset surface in place (use a
match to ignite the flame).

Check the intake air

– 1/4" (6 mm) for natural gas
– 3/16" (5 mm) for LP (propane) gas
^To adjust the gap, loosen the lock
screw and slide the air sleeve in or
out as necessary.
^Tighten the lock screw.
^Use sealant to secure the jets and
prevent loosening.
^Reassemble the cooktop in reverse
order.
The flame must not go out on the lowest
setting, or when the control is turned
quickly from a high to a low setting.
On the highest setting the flame must
have a distinctive and visible core.
Changing the needle valve
^Using a small screwdriver, unscrew
needle valve gand remove with a
pair of needle nose pliers.
^Insert the new valve and screw in
place.
^Use sealant to secure the jets and
prevent loosening.

La plaque de cuisson peut être
raccordée au gaz naturel ou au
propane.
Le régulateur fourni correspond au type
de gaz de la plaque de cuisson.
Vérifiez avant de faire l’installation. Voir

Si l’appareil doit être raccordé à un
autre type de gaz, le régulateur et les
brûleurs doivent être convertis.
,MISE EN GARDE
Le nécessaire de conversion doit
être installé par un technicien
qualifié conformément aux
directives du fabricant et à tous
les codes locaux et nationaux
applicables. Le non-respect de
ces directives peut entraîner un
incendie, une explosion ou la
production de monoxyde de
carbone et par conséquent, des
dommages matériels, des
blessures ou la mort. Le
technicien qualifié est
responsable de l’installation
appropriée de ce nécessaire.
L’installation n’est pas adéquate
et complète jusqu’à ce que le
fonctionnement de l’appareil
converti soit vérifié tel que
spécifié dans ces instructions.
Conversion du régulateur
^Dévissez le capuchon hexagonal
laiton situé dans la partie supérieure
du régulateur.
^Assurez-vous que le ressort reste en
place.
^Retirez la pièce de plastique et
tournez-la.
La pièce est marquée aux deux
extrémités:
- NAT (Gaz Naturel)
- LP (Propane)
^Replacez la pièce de plastique dans
l’écrou.
^Vissez l'écrou hexagonal sur le
régulateur.

Conversion des brûleurs
,La conversion de l'appareil à un
type de gaz différent ne doit être
effectuée que par un technicien
gazier autorisé.
Fermez l’arrivée de gaz (si l’appareil
est déjà installé) et débranchez
l’appareil de la prise de courant
avant de continuer.
Lorsque l'appareil est converti à un
autre type de gaz, les diaphragmes du
brûleur principal et du petit brûleur
doivent être remplacés.
