Sa ety instructions
Read the operating instructions through be ore
using this machine or the irst time. This way
you will avoid the risk o accidents and dam-
age to the machine.
The tumble dryer is only intended or dry-
ing abrics, which have been washed in a
water solution, marked on the manu acturer’s
wash care label as being suitable or tumble
drying.
There is a danger of fire with the follow
ing, and on no account should they be
dried in this machine:
–Articles containing oam rubber, rubber or
rubber like materials.
–Articles which have been treated with in-
lammable cleaning agents.
–Articles which have been splashed with
hair lacquer, hair spray, nail varnish re-
mover, etc.
–Kitchen overalls which may be greasy,
atty or impregnated with other residues.
Do not dry mops, loor cloths etc in this ma-
chine i they contain substances such as
wax or chemical cleaning agents.
Padded or illed abrics (eg. jackets or
cushions) should not be dried. I the illing
alls out it could cause a ire.
Some textiles get very hot during drying
and there may be a risk o high tempera-
tures causing them to ignite in exceptional cir-
cumstances. They should there ore be taken
out o the machine as soon as the programme
has inished and as soon as possible i there
has been a power cut. It is advisable to keep a
ire extinguisher near the machine at all times.
The washing must not be taken rom the
dryer be ore the drying programme has
inished, ie, the cooling down phase must
be completed.
I hot laundry items are stacked or packed
they can be liable to auto-combustion.
Do not let children play in or near the ma-
chine and do not let them play with the
controls or operate it.
Make sure that the drum is stationary be-
ore removing laundry. Never put you hand
into a drum that is still moving.
Repairs to machines operated by gas,
steam or electricity must only be carried
out by ully trained and quali ied service engi-
neers. Unauthorized repairs could be danger-
ous.
The electrical sa ety o this appliance can
only be guaranteed when continuity is com-
plete between the appliance and an e ective
earthing system which complies with local and
national regulations.
It is most important that this basic sa ety re-
quirement is regularly tested by a quali ied
electrician.
The manu acturer can not be held responsible
or the consequences o an inadequate earth-
ing system.
The machine is only completely isolated
rom the electricity supply either when it is
switched o at the wall switch or when the
mains uses are withdrawn rom the distribu-
tion board.
Do not damage, remove or bypass the
sa ety components, ixtures and control
elements o this machine.
Where there is any damage to the controls
or to the cable insulation the machine
must not be used until it has been repaired.
Faulty components must only be ex-
changed or Miele original spare parts.
Only when these parts are itted can the sa ety
standards o the machine be guaranteed.
Do not touch the steam pipework and com-
ponents, there is a danger o being burnt.
When disposing o an old machine, make
the door lock inoperative and remove the
lu ilter access panel. This should prevent
children at play rom being accidentally locked
in and endangering their lives.
Only use the machine i all o the remov-
able outer housing parts are in place. This
way any moving parts or electrical compo-
nents cannot be accessed.
Fire and Explosion risk
Never use or store petrol or petroleum
based substances or any easily in lammable
substances near the machine.
Fire risk
Do not use the machine without the built-in
lu ilter in place. I the lu ilter is damaged
it must be replaced immediately.
A build up o lu could block the air low heat-
ing and ventilation, and impair the e iciency o
the machine.
