Defibrillator/Monitor Quick Reference Guide
BeneHeart D3/BeneHeart D2
Indicators are described from left to right:
AC power indicator
Illuminated: when AC mains is connected.
Off: when AC mains is not connected.
Battery indicator
Yellow: when the battery is being charged.
Green: when the battery is fully charged or the equipment is run on battery.
Off: when no battery is installed or battery fails.
Status indicator
Flashing: when a failure is detected, or when battery is not installed if No
Battery is configured as Status Indicator ON.
Off: when the equipment operates properly.
Status indicator
Illuminated: when AC mains is connected, and the equipment operates
properly.
AED Mode
1. Plug the pads cable in the equipment's therapy port.
2. Apply multifunction electrode pads to the patient.
3. Turn the Mode Select knob to AED.
4. Follow the screen and voice prompts.
5. Press the Shock button, if prompted.
Manual Defibrillation
1. Plug the therapy cable in the equipment's therapy port.
2. Apply multifunction electrode pads or external paddles to the patient.
3. Turn the Mode Select knob to Manual Defib.
4. Select energy if necessary.
5. Press the Charge button on the front panel or external paddles.
6. Press the Shock button on the front panel or external paddles.

Noninvasive Pacing
Demand Mode:
1. Apply multifunction electrode pads and ECG leads.
2. Turn the Mode Select knob to Pacer.
3. Press the Lead Select button to select the best lead.
4. Verify that white R-wave markers appear above the QRS complexes. If
the R-wave markers do not appear or do not coincide with the R-wave,
select another lead.
5. Rotate the Navigation knob to adjust the pacer rate, then press the
knob in. If necessary, select initial pacer output.
6. Press the Start Pacing soft key to start pacing.
7. Verify that white pacing markers appear on the ECG waveform.
8. Adjust pacer output until cardiac capture occurs.
9. Verify the presence of a peripheral pulse.
Fixed Mode:
1. Turn the Mode Select knob to Pacer.
2. Switch the pacer to the Fixed mode.
3. If ECG electrodes are applied, press the Lead Select button to select
the desired lead.
4. Adjust pacer rate or pacer output. If necessary, select initial pacer
output.
5. Press the Start Pacing soft key to start pacing.
6. Verify that white pacing markers appear on the ECG waveform.
7. Adjust pacer output until cardiac capture occurs.
8. Verify the presence of a peripheral pulse.
Synchronized Cardioversion
1. Plug the therapy cable in the equipment's therapy port.
2. Apply multifunction electrode pads or external paddles to the patient.
3. Turn the Mode Select knob to Manual Defib.
4. Press the Enter Sync soft key to activate the function.
5. Press the Lead Select button to select the best lead. The selected lead
should have a clear signal and a large QRS complex.
6. Verify that the white R-wave markers appear above R-waves. If the
R-wave markers do not appear or do not coincide with the R-waves, for
example above the T-waves, select another lead.
7. Select energy if necessary.
8. Press the Charge button on the front panel or external paddles.
9. Press the Shock button on the front panel or external paddles, release
it until discharge is complete.
Alarm Status Symbols
indicates alarms are paused. indicates alarm are reset.
indicates alarm sounds are turned off.
indicates the system is in alarm off status.
User Test
Before every use, checks shall be done to ensure that the equipment is
ready for operation at any time.
1. Press the Main Menu button.
2. Select the User Test >> soft key.
3. Select the Start soft key.
4. Routine Test is ticked by default. If necessary, select Energy Delivery
and Controls Test.
5. Follow the screen prompts.
