Authorization Number. The Min ray Customer Service Authorization Number

be accepte if the Min ray Customer Service Authorization Number is not clearly

equipment before it is disconnected from t e AC power source or t e
battery.
 W en you disassemble/reassemble a parameter module, a patient leakage
current test must be performed before it is used again for monitoring.
 T e equipment must be connected to a properly installed power outlet wit

protective earth contacts only. If the installation does not provide for a
protective earth conductor, disconnect it from the power line and operate it
on battery power, if possible.
 Disposal of the packaging material should observe the applicable waste
control regulations and keeping it out of children’s reach.
1.2.2 Cautions
C UTION
 Make sure that no electromagnetic radiation interferes with the
performance of the equipment when preparing to carry out performance
tests. Mobile phone, X-ray equipment or MRI devices are a possible source of
interference as they may emit higher levels of electromagnetic radiation.
 Before connecting the receiver to the power line, check that the voltage and
frequency ratings of the power line are the same as those indicated on the
unit’s label or in this manual.
 Protect the equipment from damage caused by drop, impact, strong
vibration or other mechanical force during servicing.

2 Theory of Operation
2.1 Overview
The Monitor is inten e for monitoring physiologic parameters, inclu ing SpO2, Pulse
Rate, NIBP an Temperature, on a ult, pe iatric, an neonatal patients in healthcare
facilities by clinical physicians or appropriate me ical staff un er the irection of
physicians.
The equipment also:
 Provi es au ible an visual alarm in ications in case of patient or equipment
problems;
 Provi es isplay, review, storage an printing of monitore information;
 Incorporates multiple input evices such as buttons, knob, an touchscreen; an ,

The above figure shows a system consisting of the vital signs monitor an its
peripheral evices. The vital signs monitor:
 Can be use for monitoring the physiological parameters, giving alarms an
reviewing patient ata, etc.

 Supports Wi-Fi mo ule, wire network, remote view, an communication with the
Hypervisor Central Monitoring System (hereinafter calle CMS).

2.2 Connectors for Peripheral Devices
1. Connector for Temperature probe
2. Network connector: It is a stan ar RJ45 connector use to communicate with
external evices, such as central monitoring system, e-Gateway, or use to export
ata or upgra e the system.
3. Multi-function connector: connects to the hospital's nurse call system, or connects
external evices through DIAP protocol.
4. USB connector: connects to barco e scanner or USB isk.
5. AC Power Input
6. Equipotential groun ing terminal: When the equipment an other evices are to
be use together, their equipotential groun ing terminals shoul be connecte
together to eliminate the potential ifference between them.
2.3 Main Unit
The main unit of the vital signs monitor consists of three parts:
 Front housing assembly: main boar , Wi-Fi mo ule, keypa boar assembly
(knob), isplay, touchscreen, an alarm lamp boar .
 Rear housing assembly: power mo ule (AC/DC), power management an
interface boar (inclu ing SpO2 isolation power), recor er, speaker, battery, NIBP
mo ule, an SpO2 boar .
 External mo ule:Temperature mo ule.

2.5 Main Board
The main boar is the control center of the equipment. It provi es communication,
isplay, an ata storage functions, inclu ing:

Keypad
The keypa scans an etects the input of keys an enco er, integrates the power
on/off key, an connects AC an battery in icators.
Alarm Lamp Board
The alarm lamp boar is locate at the top of front housing. It has two-color in icators,
re an yellow. The alarm lamp boar irectly connects the main boar through a
cable. It is controlle irectly by the main boar .
Touchscreen and Touchscreen Control Board
The touchscreen control boar rives the touchscreen an implements
communication with the vital signs monitor.
Wi-Fi Module Optional)
The Wi-Fi Mo ule enables the equipment to connect to an 802.11 a/b/g/n Min ray
proprietary network.
2.6 Rear Housing Assembly
Rear housing assembly consists of power mo ule (AC/DC), power management an

AC/DC Power Module
The AC/DC power boar transforms the input AC into DC power, which is the power
source for all voltages in the equipment.
Power Management and Interface Board
The power management an interface boar provi es the following functions:
 Charge an ischarge of battery an charge etection;
 DC/DC conversion: outputs 12V an 5V DC power;
 Control over power on/off key an AC, BAT in icator;
 Communication transmission among parameter mo ules;
 Provi ing isolation power for SpO2 mo ule; an ,
 Provi ing external connectors, filter an protection for these connectors.
Recorder
The recor er receives ata from the main boar an sen s them to the thermal
printhea for printing.
NIBP Module
The NIBP mo ule consists of bloo pressure measurement boar an pump an valve
assembly, provi ing measurement acquisition of bloo pressure ata. The main
functions of the NIBP mo ule are:

 Data exchange with the main boar .
SpO2 Board
The SpO2 boar collects SpO2 signals, processes SpO2 algorithm an sen s
measurement results to the main boar . The power management interface boar
provi es isolation power for it.
2.7 External Module
An external Temp mo ule can be attache to the monitor.
The in epen ently evelope Min ray Temperature mo ule consists of an isolation
power boar , Temperature measurement boar , an probes. The Temperature
measurement boar collects Temperature signals, processes algorithm an sen s
measurement results to the main boar .
