2Safety instructions2.1General notesCAUTIONWarning of personal injury.The product was in perfect condition with regard to safety features when it left thefactory.To maintain this condition and to ensure safe operation, the user must follow theinstructions and observe the warnings in this manual.2.2Intended useThe device is intended for use of the analysis device for weighing functions.Product operation, commissioning and maintenance must be performed by trained andqualified personnel who are aware of and able to deal with the related hazards and takesuitable measures for self-protection.The device reflects the state of the art.No warranty is given that the product is free of faults, especially not in conjunction withthird-party software and hardware components required for operation.The manufacturer does not accept any liability for damage caused by third-party systemcomponents or due to incorrect use of the product. The use of this product signifiesrecognition of the stipulations listed above.2.3Initial inspectionCheck the contents of the consignment for completeness. Check the contents visually todetermine whether any damage has occurred during transport. If there are grounds forrejection of the goods, a claim must be filed with the carrier immediately. Perform visual inspection.Before operational startup as well as after storage or transport, inspect the devicevisually for signs of mechanical damage.2.4.1InstallationThe device is designed for mounting rail installation (35 mm, as per DIN 46277).

2.6Failure and excessive stressIf there is any reason to assume that safe operation of the device is no longer ensured,shut it down and make sure it cannot be used.Safe operation is no longer ensured if any of the following is true:-The device is physically damaged.-The device does not function.-The device has been subjected to stresses beyond the tolerance limits (e.g.,duringstorage or transport).2.7Important noteMake sure that the construction of the device is not altered to the detriment of safety. Inparticular, leakage paths, air gaps (of live parts) and insulating layers must not bereduced.Minebea Intec cannot be held responsible for personal injury or property damage causedby a device repaired incorrectly by an operator or installer.2.8Repairs and maintenance2.8.1General informationRepairs are subject to inspection and must be carried out at Minebea Intec.In case of defect or malfunction, please contact your local Minebea Intec dealer or servicecenter for repair.When returning the device for repair, please include a precise and complete description ofthe problem.Maintenance work may only be carried out by a trained technician with expert knowledgeof the hazards involved and the required precautions.2.8.2Electrostatically sensitive partsThis device contains electro-statically sensitive components. Each type is clearly fixed by the corresponding number. The front overlaysare adapted to the corresponding type.PR 5220/00PR 5220/01PR 5220/04PR 5220/06PR 5220/073.1.2PR 5220/00This type has digital inputs and outputs as well as one analog output and a LAN-Adapterfor configuring and operating of the device.
