1. GENERAL INFORMATION
This manual explains how to create a monitoring screen and how to set the
conditions for monitoring when a PC CPU is monitored using an AD57G
graphic controller module (hereafter called the AD57G).

When anAD57G is usedfor monitoring a PC, use graphic software to create
canvas screens (static image display) and part drawings (display figure), and
also use monitoring condition setting software to register monitoring condi-
tions, text canvases, and auxiliary functions.
This manual discusses operations when (a) the SWOIX-GEDE graphic editor
function software package (hereafter called the GED) is used as the graphic
software, and (b) the SWOIX-AD57GPE graphic controller modulesoftware pack-
age (hereafter called the AD57GP) is used as the monitoring condition setting
software.
1.1 Features
The features of the AD57G are given below.

(1) Monitoring and document output can be executed without a program.
(2) Canvas screens and figures for monitoring can be easily created by
usingGED, a drawing tool compatible with an IBM PCIAT.
(3) A text screen and a graphic screen can be overlaid on the monitoring
screen. Therefore, comments and numerical value data are displayed
at highspeed. Thescreen switchingspeed can be increasedby display-
ing characters onthe text canvas screen.
(4)
Six kinds of graph functions (trend graph, polygon graph, spline graph,
circle graph, scatter graph, and rod graph) are available.

(5) The snap shot function stores the contents displayed on the screen to
the memory card. The contents can be regenerated for troubleshooting
when an error has occurred.

The logging report function stores data collected from designated word
devices in a PC at fixed intervals to the memory card. Collected data

General Information About Creating a Monitoring Screen
The procedure for creating a monitoring screen on an AD57G is explained
below.
To create a screen;
(1) Use the GED to create canvas screens, part drawings, and a report
canvas screens.
(2)
Use an AD57GP to register monitoring conditions, text canvas screens,
and auxiliary functions, and

(1) Usingthe GED to create canvas screens and part drawings.
(a) Creating a canvas screen
The canvas screen is the base on which a monitoring screen is
created. This screen isa graphic screen (static image display) and
is displayed regardless of monitoring condition settings.
One canvas screen iscreated on one GED screen and stored in a
canvas file.

The screen number created by using the GED corresponds to the
screen number of the canvas screen.
Upto250 canvas screens can be registered to an AD57G
Inaddition. character data on a canvas screen can be created on a
text canvas screen by using by theAD57GP.

(b) Creating part drawings
Part drawings are the figures created and displayed on a canvas
screen by the graphic (part drawings) display function.

Create only characters on a canvas screen. Characters can also be
input by usingthe GED. However, the screen switching time can be
shortened by inputting characters on the text canvas screen.
