6.2BrightnessinDegreesofRotaon
Brightnesscanbesetfrom0.2to14degreesoutof360.Thehigherthe
settingthebrighterthestrobeappearstobebutthemoreblurredthe
targetis.Optimalsettingtostopmotionis1.8to3.6°.Thenumberof
degreesisaproportionalamountandremainsconstantastheflashrate
increasesordecreases.Thestrobeautomaticallycalculateshowwide
thepulsewidthshouldbeatdifferentflashratestokeeptheblur
constant—thefastertheflashratethenarrowerthepulsewidth.The
pulsewidthequals:(settingindegrees/360)x(1/flashrateinHz).

6.3BrightnessinPulseDuraon
Brightnesscanalsobesettoafixeddurationpulseinmilliseconds.The
flashrateremainsconstantirrespectiveoftheflashrate,thusasthe
flashrateincreases,theimagewillgetbrighterandmoreblurred.
Note:Therearetwolimitsmaintainedbythestrobe–theflashpulse
widthcanneverbegreaterthan2.0msec(milliseconds)norcanit
exceed14°ofrotation.
Thestrobeautomaticallyadjuststhepulsewidthandrotationvaluesasthe
flashrateisincreasedordecreasedtomaintainthelimitsatalltimes.For
example—aflashrateof600flashesperminute(10Hz),14°ofrotation
representsaflashpulsewidthof3.8msec.Thestrobewilllimitthisvalueto
2.0msecor7.3°ofrotation(blur).
7.STROBEDELAY(Nova‐Pro500ONLY)
TheNova‐Pro500hasmulplespecialeffectsthatcanbeusedtoinspect
movingmachineryindifferentways.TheDelayeffectsdependon
whetheraLaserModuleisinstalledandtheModeofOperaon.Delay,
orPhaseShiing,allowstheusertoviewdifferentposionsofthe
rotangmachineryrelavetoavirtualorfixedtriggerpoint(viaExternal
sensororinternalLaser).
7.1InternalPhaseDelay(JOG)
IntheinternalSTROBEModetheDelayisrelaveandnoexternal
triggerisused.ThisisreferredtoasJOG.Oncetheflashratehas
beenadjustedtogiveastoppedmoonimage,theJOGbuons(e
andficonsonthetouchpad)maybeusedtoincreaseordecrease
thephaseoftheimagewithrespecttoitsoriginalposionbythe
amountsetintheJOGMenu.

7.2.3AUTO—VirtualRPM
IntheAUTO(VirtualRPM—VRPM)modetheflashis
automaticallydelayedinincreasingordecreasingamountsafter
theexternaltriggerpulsesothattheimageappearstorotateata
slowspeed(VirtualRPM)assetintheVRPMmenu(0to60
RPM).Thisgivesa“slow‐motion”effectandenablesthetarget
