5.3 Adding Detergent to
the Machine
Theamountofdetergentyouwillneedto
putinyourmachinewilldependonthe
followingcriteria:
•Ifyourclothesareonlyslightlysoiled,
do not pre-wash. Put a small amount
ofdetergent(asspecifiedbythe
manufacturer)intocompartmentII of
the detergent drawer.
•Ifyourclothesareexcessivelysoiled,
selectaprogrammewithpre-washand
put¼ofthedetergenttobeusedinto
compartment Iof the detergent drawer
andtherestincompartmentII.
•Use detergents produced for
automatic washing machines. Follow
the manufacturer’s instructions on
the amount of detergent to use.
•In areas of hard water, more
detergent willberequired.

Put softener in the middle
compartment of the detergent
drawer. Do not exceed the MAX
level.
Thick softeners may cause clogging
of the drawer and should be diluted.
•It is possible to use fluid detergents
in all programmes without a pre-
wash. To do this, slide the fluid
detergent level plate (*) into the
guides in compartment II of the
detergent drawer. Use the lines on
the plate as a guide to fill the drawer
to the required level.
